Happy Alien Day! You should make one! You can never have enough celebrations of our love of Alien. I was going to make a single video but did not have the time. I am definitely planning to do one for the anniversary of the release in June. Another chance for both of us to make videos.
Hi Richard, thanks for the updates this week! Not a bunch for me to get excited about~but it's nice to be able to cut down on my watch pile. I'm thinking about going to see Alien in the theater this weekend. I always love when they bring back classic movies like that :)
That is so awesome! I hope you had a great time. When I lived in Chicago I got to see it a few times on the big screen. A few midnight shows and a film fest. I miss those.
You said, "Bite size featurettes" with a straight face when you were talking about an Armie Hammer movie. I saw Blown Away in a theater years ago and was not blown away. At first I was excited by South Park and Team America, but do I really need to upgrade my blu rays. Anyway, thanks Richard.
Hahaha I did not even think about that! I have let my bad humor down today with missing that one. lol I haven't seen Blown Away in a long time. I remember it was just ok but I would like to watch it again.
Happy Alien Day! No better way to spend it than watching it. I've done the same thing with some films that I watched a ton when I was younger and then I'd feel like I watched it semi recently only to realize it has been years if not a decade.
Kino put out a dvd and a bluray of Redline 7000 a few years back, but it went out of print. I still own it on dvd and bluray, but haven't watched the whole movie yet.
@@RichardDiaz Paramount owns it and did the scans at least for the Kino release. Readline 7000 has a great cast: James Caan(Rollerball), Marianna Hill(Messiah Of Evil) and a pre-Star Trek, George Takei. It was one that was streaming for awhile, but I don't believe it was ever out on vhs. It aired on network tv at least once.
For me the South Park movie and the Nico box are the musts!👍 I already imported The Last Starfighter. I also love that Nick Castle gem! Also as I remember it, it was also the first movie to use all cgi instead of models. Atari where heavily involved in both making the game and the computers for making this movie possible at the time. I also think the game had a playanle arcsde version out in the US atleast. Never saw it here though. Sadly
Thank you! It was a Fright Rags shirt from a few years ago. If I remember correctly it was one of their VHS box retro line. They only did a couple of those but I thought they were fun.
Happy Alien day Richard! It's funny that Southpark got a 4k. Shades of flash video. I've never heard of Loop Track. Just watched the trailer. That looks good! I've seen and own a couple of the Nico films. I'm not familiar with any in that box set. I did pick up the Last Star Fighter bluray restored release. Man From Uncle is a fun movie. It would have been nice to have seen where Ritchie would have taken the next film. Many thanks Richard! I hope the upcoming weather doesn't cause you any troubles. We have stormy weather tomorrow and then Monday through Wednesday. We still need more rain. Have an excellent weekend! Oh, my French Kino Lorber films came in. Two Jean-Paul Belmondo and one Jean-Louis Trintignant. Quite the weekend to view them!
Happy Alien Day! I love that we have a day for it. I am wondering how the South Park movie is being done for 4K. If they are using the film negative or if they can go back to the original animation elements and render them in 4K. They did that with the TV show with older episodes. They still had the original files and went back and just re-rendered them in HD. Interested in seeing how the movie looks. Awesome on your Kino films coming in! A lot of great viewing for you this weekend indeed! I am watching the weather closely. I may have to reschedule some things for next week if it seems it might get a little too rough. Hoping for the best for both of us!

The Man from Uncle is actually a pretty good movie but I'm surprised it's getting a 4K release since the Blu-ray is so cheap. I'm thinking it's because it's a Guy Ritchie film and has Henry Cavill in it
I agree. An interesting choice and I guess it was part of a licensing deal perhaps. The timing will probably work out since the new Guy Ritchie film will probably be out on disc by July as well.

The reason I heard they’re putting out the man from uncle on 4K is there was already a 4K restoration done with Dolby Vision already set to go

Oh wow! Kino really has put out so much over the years. I am still amazed I haven't seen this one yet. It is time for me to check it out.
