The return of the king is like a much improved version of this. Lotr games have always been decent. Even the new ones are good but I know there more based on the universe in general.

Fun Fact: When I was in my early teens, my brother signed me up for one of those lotteries the LEGO company occasionally ran where, if your name got drawn they would fly you out to California to work for them as a consultant. Unfortunately I was a couple years too young to actually accept, but it was one of the weirdest things that's ever happened to me. I used to love this game so much and what is so unfortunate for Jerma is that he was actually so close to beating the ladder level on the like 4th try. The whole mission is timed off the soundtrack. Listen for the music to pick up at 47:50 and that hopeful sounding tune that starts playing is suppose to signal that the end cutscene is about to play since it plays into the cutscene 😂

Seems like he didn't play the bonus levels where you run a gauntlet trying to climb Saruman's tower and have to beat up Christopher Lee on the twentieth floor. Now that was truly rage inducing cause if you died to Saruman you had to do it all over again. Your reward for beating it on all three characters was to unlock Isildur(the guy from the tutorial who is just an Aragorn reskin) and then if you beat the tower with him you got a bunch of cheat codes but by that point you had done everything so it wasn't much of a reward. I think you had to get perfects on all the levels for them to unlock or something.
I never understood these games that give you cheat codes after you clear some insane challenge. In Dead Rising you had to play the game for 10 hours straight in the survival mode to get the Laser sword at that point you wouldn't want anything to do with the game.

We used to enjoy unlocking a new cool thing to mess around with in an era where we didn't have modding or even sometimes the internet to talk about these cool "things" we did that were intentionally there just... to be experienced if you wanted to. The Rocket Launcher in RE1 was for fun, if you have to ask why you would want an infinite rocket launcher... it was so you can shoot infinite rockets in a game you have replayed like 20 times and plan to continue replaying. It was because this used to be fun.

I didn’t have Two Towers in my collection, but I did have Return of the King; kinda the same game, so I can definitely see why Jeremy had trouble and feel the same frustration as he did lol.

Did ROTK have a similar section where you had to knock down the ladders? God I remember getting so frustrated trying to beat this one section.
