Lyng and District Model Railway - Episode 60 - The Industrial Area

- In this short video I show how I installed my Industrial Area on the layout to complete the bridge scene. All the models had been previously build for the first layout but hadn't been used. Many thanks for the support shown for my previous videos, all comments and likes are very welcome and help me to maintain the development of my layout.

Hi Steve first hope your visit to the hospital isn't for anything really serious and it all goes well. The industrial area looks great and progress is going along nicely. If you don't put another video before Christmas hope you and your family have a great time. Colin
Hi Colin and thanks again for the comment and support. The op is to remove a cancerous growth on my head - one of many I have had in the past and no doubt will have in the future. It means I will not be able to go outside for 7 days nor do any dog walking our strenuous work so its housebound for me - but i do have some kits to build so will crack on with them to while away the time.

Cheers Al - it helped that I had already built and wired most of the buildings so could just put them down in place. Still got bits to add to the area but that will come over the xmas period. Thank you for your support and comment.

His Steve. That area looks really good. You've made a lot of progress there quickly. Hope the op goes all to plan on Tuesday and that recovery is as swift as it can be. Look forward to seeing the P&D March kit put together. I've looked at those kits and wondered how good they were and by the look of the bits they do look to be very good kits. Stephen
Hi Stephen - I opened the package on the kit and was staggered by the amount of small fiddly bits but as I am housebound from Tuesday it will help me pass the time. I intend to make a record of the build step by step so hopefully you will be able to see how good the kit is.

Hi Steve, really great progress with the industrial area, the lighting is looking great too especially with the main lights turned down to make it look like dusk. Makes for a good atmosphere.

Hi Steve, good progress there, the industrial area looks really good and gives some real depth to the layout. I’ve been looking at those Metcalfe industrial buildings and wondering if I could give them a slightly different look. But to be honest it would be another distraction from track laying, lol!
I really hope all goes well on Tuesday and you’re back to full form by Christmas, cheers for now mate, John
After watching some other videos on adding scale scenes printed alternative paper to the metcalfe models I wondered about doing the same but as I had built most of these about a year ago I decided to keep them the same - I am going to try with the hotel though. Yes I concentrated on the track first like you, and highly recommend that.
