so does one valve cover pull in air off the catch can filter and then circulate back through the baffle from the other side? i cannot find any info on the web about this particular setup other than this video
No. An Oil Catch Can collects oil from any positive pressure. That’s it. It breathes from the top with a filter. An Oil Separator connects to the PCV lines. Which is a closed system. This separates the oil. Recycling the air.
@@141runn the valve cover has a vacuum hose/tube running to the intake manifold. this hose gets disconnected and the oil separator gets installed. it goes in-between the valve cover and intake manifold. the valve cover vacuum hose now goes to the oil separator and the other side of the oil separator goes to the intake manifold.
Don't touch the tb plate or open it if it's electronic, had to relearn the throttle. I found out the hard way lol it was reving at 2000, when I pulled it into snow covered lot and tried to stop the tires kept spinning and I went sliding into my bosses new f250.... you know the aluminum box that costs thousands to fix right!
You can make one with spare exhaust tube from when you did your exhaust. Make some caps, and add barbs, drain, and internal baffle, and external filter if not wanting to go back through the intake like me.
You're not supposed to have a vent filter if you connect it back to a vacuum source. Just block the other hole and just vent to atmosphere without vacuum. Worked best for me like that.
I want to install an oil catch can on my carbureted 350, but I have dual pcv.....will I have any problem by just hooking them up directly to the catch can?
Wondering if you can do an episode on separate fuel tank's auxiliary tube installation on mid size commercial truck's. Another episode might bring in a whole new crowd... with extra info, regarding small canister bracket installation guides with tow hinges on SUV's to truck modification's on expeditionary vehicles.
Look for the vac line diagram under the hood to locate the pcv lines and you do not want one with a filter the engine will not run right and you will have a check engine light
Why do these sort of videos always have someone whaling on the guitar as the background music, like that chipmunk foosball, and why is that guys jeans so snug, and why is there a carb on that engine? Says the video is from 2019???
A)I would say the music is more the norm than not in most CZcams videos specially in high dollar videos like this B) not snug at all, normal i would say, seen women in the last few years? now thats snug, circulation cutting snug down to the ankles C) Carbs are still a big thing to some people specially in classic cars like this,i grew up with carburetors but much rather have fuel injection, much more efficient.
@@motivvt On a separator does it matter what way the lines are hooked up? what i mean is , a separator has 2 ports, i assume that because its a thru system it wouldn't matter but i figured i would ask, PCV>separator (left or right fitting) intake >separator >whatever fitting is left? does that make sense? thank you for your time
@@dntlss there's 2 ports on a sep, 1 in, 1 out . your hose from the pcv would go in, and the out would go back into your intake. either the plenum or the intake hose after the maf
Great video! That catch can installed is a summit racing catch can that is $70
No information for the oil separator?

@@mauricio5763 so it deletes the pcv?

@@141runn yes because in the video they installed a catch can. not an oil separator.
Unfortunately the installation was not clear . From where to where the hoses were installed
Enjoyed and gave a Thumbs Up also
Like what end goes to the PVC(IN) or (out) and what does the other side connect too???? I have a TBI 350

Quite an enjoyable infotainment episode.
la catch can va a la salida de la valvula pcv?
Can you please post the part number for the push on hose fittings that you used in this video? Thank you!
Wait, so both IN & OUT are tied to the Left & Right Valve covers? That make no dam sense....
The filter on top is the output of the catch can. The two hoses are inputs.

Does it matter what port on the catch can goes the pcv and what port goes to the intake? Or tht doesn't matter
Do you needa breather
Do not use the top filter. I got an air leak from my engine when I did that. It’s best to seal it off completely.

Just block the other hole and just vent to atmosphere without vacuum.

Simple and quick. Great video fellas thanks.
4G94 has a breather and pcv. If I turbo it that would mean positive pressure with be applied to the breather. Is that where to put catch can.

Is it okay to put Teflon tape on the npt bung that’s tapped into the valve cover that connects to the an fittings ?
Yes. Just be careful to keep the first few threads unwrapped. This isn’t the brake system.
i need one for my acura tsx 2004 where would i connect it ?? and does the catch can needs to have a filter on top ????

Wouldn't oil in the intake runners also cause some smoking besides the other host of problems?
Yes it can
Especially in diesels
Where does the pcv valve go , before or after the catch can ?
They stay in the valve cover, so before. PCV>catch can>intake
