At 3:10, look at the veteran leadership of Caron Butler, motioning KD to the corner while he runs to the wing...beautiful spacing. That play doesn't happen if KD and Caron are bunched together. Kudos to Scott Brooks for starting Butler and at LEAST making it something closer to 5 on 5.
I seriously don't see why people don't think Westbrook is the BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER on the Thunder , yes Durant is the better shooter/scorer but in terms of overall basketball skills on both ends and just impact on the game at both ends Westbrook is way better than Durant

@@RealMikeMiller13 I feel that Durant is far more offensively versatile than Westbrook , defensively Durant in GSW became a good defender .. Westbrook on the other hand defensively took steps back when Durant left to put more energy on offense he still can't consistently shoot outside the midrange area , but he did get smarter with how he plays and it really showed his last year in OKC how much he deferred to Paul George ... In all honesty I'd say they're neck and neck , most will give Durant the edge because of his scoring abilities and he won two rings (by joining a team that was already superior)
@@druchatman5352 nah Russ was bad defensivly from 2017-18 but from 2019 to current he's a really good defender. And his playmaking and decision making is way better

this team is unstoppable when westbrook passes and gets his teammates going on early in the game but like Barkley says, the same conversation happens with WB every year on why he can't play like this more often. His play style is his biggest advantage and he should continue to be a scoring pg but do so while getting his team mates involved, its not a coincidence that KD shot so well this game, ball movement helped out

Westbrook is so misunderstood and unfairly treated. Every team they play cheats off of Thabo and Perk, collapsing in the lanes and forcing bad spacing for OKC. You will always fear Westbrook's penetration...if OKC had more shooters to make the defense pay for leaving them, this type of game would be the norm for him. Caron Butler was an excellent pickup. He's not Kyle Kroger or anything, but he converts the 3-ball at a high clip, he plays solid, disciplined defense, and he's great at poking the ball loose. If Butler doesn't stay in the starting lineup for the rest of the playoffs, somebody needs to take Scotty out back and put him down...
First of all, who is Kyle Kroger? Second all i agree with you Westbrook needs more space to flourish. when he plays like this he is a top 5 player in the league.
Anthony Morrow is going to be lights out from 3 this year for OKC. That was a great 3PT specialist pickup.

Dru Chatman Durants better (at least that's what I think) because Durant is a very efficient player and makes players around him better (not saying Westbrook doesn't) he doesn't have to have the ball to be effective and he's a good defender Westbrook on the other hand is not a good shooter turns the ball over to much and rely's heavily on his athleticism... Don't get me wrong Westbrook is a terrific player and put up beast numbers last year but Durant is the better/more skilled player
Exactly. Westbrook is talented no doubt. But you saw what Durant did with Oklahoma when alone and what Westbrook did with Oklahoma alone. Stats are a good accolade, but if it doesn't lead to Ws, it's pretty pointless.
