I watched a documentary by Henry Lewis Gates about racism in Latin countries, it's pretty extreme. Historically and at present people are labeled based on their skin color and it is extreme. In their Hall of government, they have potraits of latin people and based on the color of the skin, the people are placed into specific groups. I rember in Brazil when a very beautiful dark brown woman was selected as Carnival queen or something and the country started featuring her in ads to promote Carnival, people complained that her skin was too dark. The officials replaced her before the event with a very light skin person. When Obama was running for president my work associate, a latina, and I talked all the time about everything. She had told her family she was voting for Obama, her mother told her she couldn't. Her only reason was that Obama is black. This attitude Latin Americans have as well as the attitudes from Native Americans, Asians, Indians, and any where else around the world toward dark black people will never change. They all learned from the biggest racist in the world, yt people. They all still want to be accepted by yt people. It is now 2022, racism is not going anywhere.

(CNN)We may be witnessing a critical turning point in Latino politics in the United States.
Contrary to their monolithic treatment by many Americans, Latinos have always been very diverse -- economically, culturally and in their ethnic and national origins. But, politically speaking, they were reliably Democratic.
That may no longer be true. In an era when conservative politics is acutely nationalist and consumed by a sense of cultural threat, a number of new polls show Latino voters growing more Republican.

That's why we as black people needs to stay in our own community and stop being so accepting if anyone besides our own, because our community as a whole is always at the back if the line! Firstly, I am a black man and I am not a democrat or republican. Secondly, there must be more that she said that i did not see in this video because I didn't see any anti-blackness in her statements. What I heard was her saying that a black kid was misbehaving. She pointed out that there was a white man who she assumed had guardianship over that black child and she assessed that the scene looked like the trope of white parents not disciplining their unruly child. Now when you factor that into the mix it seems to me she really was saying that she believes this child needed to be told not to behave in a way that the white man was allowing and that she would add the discipline that this child obviously seem to be missing. Are we now becoming that boy that cried wolf? Outside of politics there has always been a "black and brown" coalition in the ghettos were we have been regulated to. I am from NYC and this black vs brown agenda is foreign to me. now to be truthful there are blacks against hispanics and hispanics against blacks in isolated incidents but that is only a small percentage of the daily interactions between two groups who really are the same. the only real difference is one slave master taught his slaves english (britain) and the other slave master taught his slaves spanish (spain). after that the two groups were pitted against each other to instill the divide and conquer tactics that still shows it's affects with this brown vs black narrative that is so dangerous and being pushed so hard right now. she, from the snippet shown in this video, was pointing out a misbehaving child and because the child was black we are supposed to automatically see it as racism from one of our hispanic sisters and not see it as a disciplinary issue? now, do not misjudge my sentiment. i know that we have self hatred in our communities. and regardless of the last 400 years of subjugation and degradation and division i still see our hispanic/latino brothers and sisters as our family and nothing will change that. nothing. the children of hispanic slaves are not the same as the children of the conquistadors. the children of the hispanic slaves are the same as the children of black slaves. and just because some hispanics, children of hispanic slaves and those conquered/colonized, are light skin does not mean that they are now not our people because of their light skin and straighter hair... if that is the case then all blacks who are light skin and/or do not have the kinkiest/whooly hair should be dismissed as being black too. and lastly, many see hispanics with lighter skin and say "see they can not be black like us"... well, spain had over a 100 year head start in reshaping the world and complexion of our hispanic brothers and sisters that they conquered starting in the 1400's before the british had there impact on who we call blacks today. there is more to say but my comment is long already.

It’s really annoying to hear anyone say, “their action don’t represent all” or “not all…”
The same could be said about white people. All white people aren’t racist either, but the vast majority turn a blind eye or think, because it hasn’t affected them directly there’s nothing they can say or do about it. Not to mention, many benefit from racism systematically.
I’ve been on this Earth for 54 yrs and have been around the “Latino” community for many of those yrs. I can wholeheartedly say that although “not all Hispanics” have that bias, or WS racist mindset, the vast majority don’t see it as an issue unless it directly affects them. Also, if it does directly affect them, as in the case with Florida, they more than likely welcomed it thinking that they weren’t going to be the target, and when they become the target they asked for Black people to stand with them. However, once Black people declined to help them fight, suddenly their true feeling about Black people shine through simply for being told NO.

During family get togethers, on occasion friends of my extended family would visit. They were usually latino as well. Thinking they were in the presence of only latinos, I would sometimes here racial slurs about black people. My cousins would quickly correct them, b/c we were their black family members, and they had positive experiences with us all their life; however, I heard almost as many racial stereotypes and negative racial comments against the black community by latinos as I have from white communities. The big difference is that I see the white community largely changing and atoning for the sins of their fathers. However, the latino community stays stagnant b/c they have not changed their mindset, they still think they are doing nothing wrong nor do they think they are part of the problem.

We should be educating our children about, everyone’s culture. They need to know how much our values r the same and learn what their incredible culture, religion etc can bring to our communities instead our children become fearful of what they don’t know. If children r being taught well their interests grow their brains become sponges addicted to learning more learning and worst case they become readers to satisfy their addiction.

Black people didn't displace Latinos from their homeland or steal their resources or plot coups to take over their governments. The people whose azz they run to kiss did. We have survived because we understand those who hate us without a cause because they aren't us. There is no Black and brown coalition. We believe you. White people are not different from what is expected and we believe them. Walking into a situation that you didn't fight to achieve then side with the opponents to disrespect and harm Black people. As a black born European, from generations ago, I naturally connect with African ancestry more than my European part, yet my family has been in Europe for centuries ago! I can't understand what makes those so calls'' Latinos think they are white and Latinos when no one has ever heard of them before Columbus got here! History tells us exactly the combination and the making of these people who called themselves''Latinos! People from Dominican Republic, México, and all the south America are mostly African and Native Indians! Most of the Taino's naturally have yellow skin tone, and when you mixed Yellow with Chocolate you will ended up with an Olive skin tone, and that is how those people became a nation! Being colonized by the Europeans, most of them have lost their original native dialect, they now, learned Spanish from their masters! As a result, they think they are Spanish because they have learned the language! Reality is, most of them don't even have a tiny blood line with the Spainards, but they all think their ancestors came from Spain because they speak Spanish!

No, sir, you are wrong about Brazil; the majority of Brazilians are mixed race! If you knew history, you would know that Brazil was so black; they have purposely imported white Europeans to Brazil to diminish black people! However, you can't erase black, no matter how hard they tried! There is a reason why Latinos are not white is that there was not such a nation called ''Latino'' before 1492! Latin is derived from Hebrew to Greek, then to the rest of the European nation, and none of them called themselves Latinos! You have to understand that Africans are the first ever created on this earth, so if anyone is ''Latino'', it has got to be Africans because they are the roots of all human life! That is why all other nations have African DNA!

I'm a Kenyan of African descent. I'm curious about the origin of calling people of African descent Black. My skin colour according to the colour palette is brown. And Caucasian people's skin colour is definitely not white but a shade of pink or brown...it's a wide spectrum.
That said, I was not aware of how demeaning the word black is until I came to Europe. Three years here and the contrast is clear. White in contrast to black and vice versa has such a deeper connotation. If I was referred to by the proper colour of my skin and the Caucasian people by theirs, some of these stupid, superficial power structures would crumble. What's my true skin colour?

    "Useful idiots"
The title of this writing are the words of Kristopher Goldsmith, a former US Army sergeant, specialist in intelligence, extremism, and an Iraq war veteran during an interview at MSNBC's "this is who we are" segment, regarding the cowardly and senseless murder of innocents by "Hispanic nationalists." We agree with Mr. Goldsmith assessments on the twisted and deranged mentality of "Latino nationalists" who commit extremely heinous crimes against the public resulting from "white supremacy" influences and personal inadequateness. Mr. Goldsmith begins responding to the host questions by saying that "the Latino or Hispanic identity is extremely complex" and we agree with him on this also. We agree because we are part of the most wrongly identified community that was labelled in different ways based on ignorance and prejudices.
Any individual born anywhere in the Western Hemisphere who is an extraction from aboriginals of the continent wrongly called "America" are NOT "Hispanics." The term "Hispanic" apply ONLY to people who are natives of Spain or Portugal known also as the Iberian Peninsula. Also, the term "Latino" belongs only to the ancient country of Italy identified by the Italic language of ancient Latium of Rome until modern times the dominant language of the church, school and state in Western Europe. In addition, the term "America" now used to identify only the US while excluding the rest of the continent, is linked to the name of Italian adventurer named Americo Vespucci who had a role in the so-called "discovery" of the continent.
The term "Hispanic" now used to identify people from Mexico, Central, and South of the continent plus the Caribbean, and whose language is Spanish, were labelled officially as "Hispanic" in the US during the 1960s because they spoke Spanish and is allusive to Spain. Before then, in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, Mexicans, Central or South Americans and Caribbean's were identified as "Spanish." Throughout the social upheavals of the 1960s and 1970s other terms such as "Chicano" appeared and remain as the preferred form of identity by Mexicans born in the US. Among them the term "La Raza" is also used to identify the whole of the Mexican nation. Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Salvadorians, and others don't identify as "Hispanics." Sounds confusing? It is. Here's more: The term "Latin America" has been declared as "racist" by contemporary historians who assure that the Western Hemisphere is originally indigenous and that there is nothing "Latin" about it. They also argue that "America" is linked to the name of a criminal from Europe and suggest calling the continent "Ixachitlan" which is the original name. None of these details are never mentioned in the media, classrooms, or social political events while the preconceived and prejudicial ideas about people who were slaughtered by the millions and their land stolen to build a destructive civilization, remain unknown and prevalent in the mind of the average citizen.
The "Latinos" or "Hispanics" who commit mass murders of innocents are not recognized and do not represent our community. They are the product of an extremely perverted, decadent, and criminal social environment and their destructive actions, are the result of their own personal problems coupled with the influence of ideological trash such as "white supremacy" and are acting like useful idiots. Therefore, we call on the armed forces to eliminate this useless scum but if they don't, we will.

I've heard it my whole life. I used to look at my skin and ask why would God make me dark. Amongst Latinos it is ingrained to breed out the dark skin, which comes from the Spanish colonizers or Europeans. I used to hate Black people because I am of African decent and was put down low for it. It's the self-hate that you have to live with as an adult. The prison and gang culture push that as well. It's shameful to admit but it's a self-hate issue that's based in colonial racist brainwashing. It's very prevalent and needs to be addressed as an issue for us because no one is coming to help.
