Spiritualized ngp drop soon hopefully!
I bet so
Is he working on one?
Haven’t heard anything
Haven't heard from him for a while, shame he didn't add DMG filter to his core
I wonder if this means the cores will be released for openfpga? Saves states and sleep mode? Another great video by the way, thank you for your hard work!
It’s possible but I don’t think any time soon
Thank you! Same issue here with Neo Turf Masters. It was driving me crazy glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully they patch it.
I’m sure it’ll get patched eventually
Oh and thanks for confirming! The more reports the better :)
Of course. The community makes these products better. I went ahead and sent Analogue a support ticket to report the issue@@VideoGameEsoterica
I received my adapters on Thursday. They look really nice, and high quality, as usual with Analogue.
I'm curious what others paid for shipping. Mine was $30 for one set, while they only charged me $14 to ship: the Analogue Pocket, Dock, GG adapter, extra power adapter, and the clear case. I guess the new shipping savings they promised maybe didn't work out so well.🤔.. hehe
$30 as well. Way too high
I'm wondering if maybe Analogue could have reworked the TG-16/PCE adapter a bit better. So perhaps you could insert the card from the bottom, of the Pocket, so that the card might be closer to being flush with the system, and not hanging out so much. Or at the very least, change the cart adapter so that the TG-16 card art is facing the player, instead of the back of the card. It's nitpicking, I know, but Analogue is usually all about the details.
I'd also like to see the ability to copy the carts/cards' roms to the SDCard (like they did with SNESCopy on the Super Nt), as well as the SRAM saves. Just adding that addition to the Super Nt helped us get a few undumped roms! With the Pocket being so much more popular, there may be even more of a chance to help people have an accessible way to dump some possibly unreleased stuff.
I was thinking that too. It’s odd to have it just straight up
Neo Turf Masters is one of the only NGP carts I own.
Everyone should own it. So good
Woo Jotego core done?! *checks vid* oh. But gotta admit it’s part of the pocket ofc and def still entertaining vid as usual! Adapters sold in packs is well…let’s say i am not surprised. Still happy for the physical collectors that have more options now and do appreciate analogue for that.
I really wish they’d have separated them
@@VideoGameEsoterica And you're a collector even, what more for normal folks...oh btw in totally unrelated news, i should become a 3d0 owner next wednesday :D
Hell yeah joining the 3DO Club!
How is the audio on PCECD? The Open FPGA core is pretty bleh even if you mess with the settings.
I’ll have a tutorial soon. You CAN get it stable but it’s a lot of adjustments. I’ll show the numbers I found to be good in the vid
So far, the PCE adapter works flawlessly with the TurboEverdrive Pro, which was surprising. Well, apart from the Trinitron filter making the screen much smaller than it should be.
Also, I'm just in this to see you get into the Atari Lynx, lol. There is surely some esoteric content to be had within that library!
Good to know. Haha no Lynx. I don’t need one. Famous last words
Not sure about real cartridge but I got Neo Turf Masters working on neo pocket game drive via the cartridge adapter though.
Interesting. I’ll have to look into it
can the pc-engine adapter run the turbo everdrive and will it play pce-cd games?
Honestly I’d have to ask someone who has one to test
yes, mono audio only
@@cliffordhaight9151 thank you!
Good to know 👍
Neo turf masters is the best golf game ever
Nobody would ever disagree with that sentence
Hello! I love your work and I watch all your MISter videos, I'm saving up to buy one in a few months :)
I knew about the existence of analogue pocket but I always thought it only played cartridges and everdrives. Now I have seen that it has cores like MISTer and you can put games in sd card without the need for an everdrive. Is this correct? I ask because I would like to have an analogue pocket but I don't have games on cartridges nor do I plan to buy everdrives.
Greetings and success with your videos!
That’s correct :) you can add games to the SD card. But only on the OpenFPGA cores
@@VideoGameEsoterica This is really great, I hope pre-sales open because I saw that they are sold out on the page. thanks for your answer! 😸
They restock semi regularly now
When it was actually out on shelves, I never thought much of the Lynx. It wasn’t until YEARS later that I found out that it had good ports of several Atari arcade games.
It’s got a couple decent titles for sure
Exciting, but I hope we get OpenFPGA versions of these cores soon.
Me too. ESP for NGPC
@@VideoGameEsoterica Same here.
I preordered very late, like two or three weeks ago, and got my adapters a few days ago.
Same, and I got them Thursday.
Nice. Seems like they had a bunch of extras
Good to know
That Neo Geo Pocket audio is spot on, one of the most accurate PSG synth FPGA renditions I've heard and really high-quality, I hope the MiSTer can that kind of accuracy with PSG/PWM/FM eventually, but I'm wondering if it's because the APocket runs games from the cart ROM, making timings much more accurate than the MiSTer, as I'm now finding out the memory types have a lot to do with audio accuracy and quality, which is why MiSTers audio is so bad at times, the Neo Geo Pocket's Z80 CPU interacts with sound data straight from the game carts ROM.
Don’t forget the MiSTer NPG core is just a beta. So it’s not even done :)
Great insight there! I believe you are correct with everything you said. Ive been noticing this as well. Before analogue posted firmwares to more access most of the openfpga cores had very odd and poor audio. Over time its gotten super good. I prefer it over some other options. The mister core will get updated for sure as esoterica said too. So in time.
I wonder what they’ve done
Received my adapters, lynx works well and so does tg16, pretty exciting to funny have them, unfortunately don’t actually have neogeo pocket color carts.
I feel like everyone who got the adapters has at least one adapter they have no games for
I actually sold my neogeo pocket adapter at (fair) cost because it’s frustrating to buy adapters i don’t need
I wish they’d just sold them piecemeal. I’d have gotten the NGP adapter and be done
Wonder if there are multi carts or flash carts for ngp
The gamedrive at SAG
Lynx works great even the flash cart works
Good to know!
i got my adapters last week
Nice. I think mine will be here today
accidentally have two sets. NGP socket is really snug, my adapter really power grips the carts. I have't tested it with NGPSD flash cart yet but had issue with neoflashmaster. I am a huge lynx fan, had a complete collection and had since it first came out. First thing is with the lynx the carts go face out in the pocket which is opposite of real hardware. Without labeling this is a bid whoops, also if you have lynx homebrew don't risk it. I have some physical cartridge where there are no ROMs available, I've tried to dump them but the dumps don't work on emulation of flash carts. I tried to play alpine games on it and it hard locked and now the cart won't boot anymore.
Good to know on the Lynx front. That being said I dunno if I’ll ever get into Lynx collecting
Occured to me last night that we still don't have a lynx core... :[
Not in OpenFPGA no. At least we have it on the MiSTer side
I have 3 working lynx games and 2 that do not work. I have no way of confirming if it is the games or the adapter. PCE and Tgfx work well. No NGPC games to test for now. I find myself playing the games on pocket even when I have a hooked up console just for the convenience factor and nice screen.
Clean the non-working carts with some rubbing alcohol and test again. Worth a shot. But I do know Lynx carts are prone to just dying
@@VideoGameEsoterica They were actually new in box. Cleaned and still not working.
They can get bit rot on the glob top chip I’ve heard
I have the GG adapter and while I appreciate that it's a thing, I find the cart sticking out so far quite annoying, so I don't use it, preferring to just use OpenFPGA cores. I know there are still advantages in some games to using original carts, and I'm glad the adapters exist, but they're not for me
That’s how I feel about PC Engine
Dang, no Neo Turf Masters!? 😫
The one TRUE NGPC game
Ooooh! Did you say Neo Geo Pocket Color VGE. Oooh La La. 8^)
Anthony..
One of the best
FPGA owners Pocket/MiSTer eating good in the neighborhood!
Too much gets released lately haha
seriously! @@VideoGameEsoterica
I really wish Analogue released the adapters separately. I have no interest in TG-16 or Lynx.
I do too. I don’t have a need for Lynx and honestly I wouldn’t go around playing PC Engine HuCards given we have an OpenFPGA core. I’m here for NGP and NGPC
I'm happy enough with TG-16 but yeah... I have no interest in Lynx.
Is a Sega genesis adapter on the horizon
Haha that would be a hell of a thing to fit. How bout AES carts? Lol
@@VideoGameEsoterica I would buy one there was nomad and that thing looked odd.
Haha nomad was odd. But charming
Are you a Pocket hater jus t asking.
Lol I make videos on it. I wouldn’t do that If I hated it
And of course, an unfunny joke we heard 432 times already to start the video...
So I can put you down for 432 views? Awesome
Small channel delivering niche news to a loyal audience and you feel the need to criticise the script? This isn't fucking SNL, go touch grass.
The joke is O.K. It's the delivery of the joke that sucks.
He’s just like that. He comments on every video. He must really like me
It’s not a delivery. It’s the name of the series 🤷🏻♂️
