- This needs sorting out quick! Chunky black clouds coming from this buses over-fuelling injectors is a real environmental hazard and that cough was real, it really smelt like strong ropey diesel and it was not good for my lungs and the city. SORT YOUR BUSES OUT FIRST EASTERN COUNTIES!!!
UPDATE: THIS BUS IS NOW FIXED UP
And now it’s retired. (April)
That ZF sounded beautiful
That's the gearbox motor
@@LJ07EBP yeah the ZF gearbox👍👍
yeah but its not acc called zf@@Themeparkenthusiast_Kian
Yes it is.. ZF Ecomat
The thing that makes the noise is a gearbox motor@@WarwickshireTransport
Holy shit, love when buses do that! So much character. Wouldn't like to be a cyclist behind it though so I sympathise with you!
Issues like this fix themselves naturally most of the time, after a long time of use soot that collects around the exhaust is ejected in black smoke when it builds up to much.
It was a Turbo sensor that was causing the turbo to stay at max boost, obviously causing the engine to overwork. Is fixed now :)
Possibly was
@@LiftManAmer definitely was, I have inside info 😉
The wastegate valve being constantly open makes sense but it would be the opposite of max boost, black smoke shows there is too much fuel and not enough air.
@@FM60260 That is indeed what happens if there is too much fuel on diesel. My brother turned up the fuel rack setting on my lawnmower for a laugh and it threw out clouds of black smoke, had to use the petrol push one instead it was that bad.
Pretty sure thats a MOT failure if presented like that so needs fixing. I know older B7s are chuggy but thats beyond chuggy
Agreed
It is an MOT fail for sure, it shouldn't be too hard to fix though but if it had a DPF it would ruin that and that would make it more expensive to repair.
Our 2005 Eclipses never didn't this in skegness
@@StagecoachBusEnthusiast Rare then as every Firstbus eclipse I’ve ever seen does it. Stagecoach must be looking after theirs.
What's the problem, I'm a bus driver and the diesels keep going, the battery buses are at best useless , most are V O R = vehicle off road on a daily basis, they don't work in the cold , massively complex, pedestrians can't hear them coming, have a tendency to self combust , a impractical solution to an imaginary problem.
Be lack of maintenance being an 18 year old end of life vehicle engine probably not been serviced properly due to its age.
Yeah
End of life? No way considering how long the Routemasters lasted. This is just the case of don't bother looking after your fleet and when it fails just buy a new one, passing the costs on to the customer by increasing fares, reducing pay rises and cutting back services (every operator has this habit in the UK especially those on the rails).
@@charlotteclarke4665 Modern vehicles only really have an expected life of 15 years due to tender age limits although you can get 20 years out of them if looked after the B10 being a good example.
@@darylyatestransportblogsyes modern those where to last of the mechanical buses there where electrics but nothing to extreme if they where actually maintained you could get about 30 years out of them
@@Thatspuremental B10s could easily last that plenty of B10Ms still on the road
Most our B7 Volvo's are noisy, cluggy , slow or just emit smokey vapour , you have to remember these are well past their prime now at 18+years old, you might be glad to hear a FULL fleet of Electric buses are coming next year with some arriving as early as October iv'e been told.
What in Norwich?
18 is new compared to how long Routemasters lasted.
@@charlotteclarke4665 they sure do imo Routemasters are the BUS of buses and will keep going until they're scrapped for parts etc, sad how they have been removed from public duty.
that's the tasty stuff
That bus sounded like a Scania L94UB
This bus needs to be repaired or scrapped
Wouldn’t scrap just repair it actually.
I think that would be a rich mixture
Wait a minute that’s KX05MHV I LOVE THAT BUS
Same, lovely ZF on it. Smoke issue has been fixed ages ago now
Yeah KX05 MHO also has a good ZF but MHV is my second fav bus after LT52 WTJ and btw that was me on the call in Berlin with your friend
Oooooo very nice ZF ecomat! Who cares about the smoke
Nice sounding ZF though 😎
Yes!
lordz
Zak needs to repair it 😂
He's the one for decals and vinyls.
@@LiftManAmer Yh he might do maintenance stuff aswell as some do
I use the purple line every school day
Typical First Bus
This bus is need to repair and make replaced with a hybrid electric bus better. Should keep the buses create upgraded hybrid electric buses altogether better than diesel fuel. Diesel fuel is bad, that causes carbon of toxic black smoke out like THIS. Why you weren't trying to call them off, mate?! Jeez, what expect of hell nuts with that bus cause catch fire is!! 😨
The hybrids in Manchester from 2010 - 2013 have already mostly all gone, yet non hybrids are still going as they have been more reliable.
Hybrids don't last as long because the batteries eventually fail and they end up wasting more fuel carrying the dead batteries around with them.
@@FM60260 They just don't last as long. TFGM Optares lasted 10 years. Stagecoach Enviros have managed 11 and quite a few still seem to be going but First Glasgow had some identical that have already gone to scrap so I don't know how long Stagecoach will be able to keep theirs going. GNW & First Vantage Volvos are too new to tell yet. Either way 10 years is still rubbish compared to 21 Transdev managed to get from their Renowns. For how long diesels should last, I think Volvo & Dennis can easily last 20 to 25, Merc can do 16 or 17, Optare maybe 15, Scania & Wright integrals I'd say 12 to 14.
@@charlotteclarke4665 There are still old hybrids, maybe 12 years old running in London and since most buses from around 2015 seem to be hybrids in London I will see how long they last.
66987 typical 🙄
canny zf tho
Get a life springs to mind!
