Building my Shed Bar Room with a Faux Concrete look Wall- Forme Industrious

- It's been over two years since we started building on our rural acreage. First we built the big shed/ workshop and the our house. My Forme Industrious build have been well and truly put on hold with all the "other work" I have had to do (and still have to do). Time has come to get organised in the workshop.
I need to properly set up the metalwork and wood work areas, and I also need a clean area so I decided to segregate these areas with a big wall. We thought it might be good to make a type of Man Cave/ Bar Room; a room that you can relax in and build up inspiration for the next projects. The job is not yet finished but I have made good progress so far and thought I'd bring you along for the journey.
Thank you for watching!
Scott

I'm sitting near the fire pit, having a beer, footy on in the shed and Scotty uploads a video....Yes 👍 🍻
Awe fanx mate :)
Good to seeing you do well. I admire your work.
@@paulhayton3423 thankyou Paul!!
Looks fantastic, Scott! Amazing design and work!
Thank you!!
There’s a heap of talent going on here! Very creative and always with a satisfied smile!🛠️🪚⚒️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Much appreciated Tomas!!
Looks great, Scott! The concrete render must have taken ages without knowing exactly how it would turn out - it paid off! The recycled timber wall looks nice 👌
Thank you. Yes it was a gamble but I'm pretty happy it turned out well enough.
Allways a pleasure watching you "do things".😃
Thank you!
It’s fun to watch another forme industrious video! I’m very happy for your successes in life and I thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for your kind encouraging words; Cheers!
I would love to have a clean area in my workshop, all I have to do is get rid on the storage shelves that contain a bunch of junk that my better half never uses, but won't through away.
Haha! We had boxes everywhere of all our kids stuff (all left home now). That's all in the shipping container now and I cannot move in that. That was for all my material storage but.........
Cheers Kory!
Great job putting your studio together. Now you can see your collections better than looking at them packed away in boxes.
Thanks Steven! Yes I had to stop making stuff, because I had no where put it them and I'm terrible at selling things.
Incredible seeing how casually you just knock up a pair of decorative brackets AND BOLTS! 😆 So impressive mate. All those different textures in the studio side look magnificent 👌🏻
Many thanks!! I was too lazy to go and buy long bolts ;)
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious it's a 25min drive for me to a little, understocked hardware shop, so I almost get it 😆
Love the shed. Very envious, but, happy you now have a space you can grow in. Hoping to get up that way in the very near future. Also, would be good to see you at the next Maker Meetup. We'll be setting a date very soon. Cheers Scott. 👍🍺
Thanks Chris! Sing out mate if you're in the area. All the best mate and keep smiling!
I've missed you and Judy! I really like your little creative workspace, the 'concrete' wall turned out beautifully.
Thanks BLG :)
It's been awesome to see the property progress, but we've missed that creativity that you're so famous for. Great content!
Thank you! Hopefully soon I can get that creativity going again!
Adding a mini cave to the mega cave... Nice!
Cannot have enough caves! Cheers James!
Loving the rustic natural look Scott I also like the old piece of iron tin used on a wall, job well done 👍🏻 😊
Thanks Josephine! :)
The Picasso of concrete walls.. looks great..😮
Haha! Well it was fun to do as you just "slap it on" - thanks Steve!
Very cool room Scott! I've enjoyed the whole series of setting up the property. Good to see you getting the shop set up again!
Thanks Joseph! For the last two years plus it's been all building sheds and homes. It will be so good to get back to some workshop time. I'm nearly there!
Scott it's good to see you back in the real shop again.. That place is looking amazing... Can't wait to see you building industrial stuff again... That wall turned out beautiful... As all your creations do... Scott, you take care my friend and God Bless....
Thanks Gary. No need to make a faux concrete wall in your silo I'd say. All the best and God Bless you also.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Yeah those walls are 3-10 ft thick of hardened concrete mixed with epoxy... Tuff stuff.. Scott thx for bringing us along on your journey.. you be careful and Take care...
What a space Scott! Well done as always! Definitely hang a Harley off the beam! It’ll be grand 😂👍🏻
Thanks Brendan! I'll try and sneak one up there ;)
Such an incredible transformation of the space mate. Huge shed envy!
Thanks Daniel :) Looking forward to finishing this sucker off.....after I get all my other jobs done : I
I wake up at 4 am posted 2 hrs ago I find a new episode from Scott Turner. Great start to my day.
Wonderfull comment; huge thank you!
Love the finish on that wall. Great result. Feels kinda cosy ☺
Thank you! Yes it will be nice and cosy!
We need an intercom to save me walking down when it’s dinner o’clock!

That turned out really nice. It's great to have a room like that, away from the grime and dust. I have just completed putting up Gyproc in our new living room and am halfway through laying down the laminate flooring. Fell over in the workshop and banged my knee on steel tubing so the rest of the floor will have to wait until the swelling goes down. After the living room it's on to an extensive workshop rebuild so I can move larger machinery in there. No rest for the wicked.
Thanks for that Michael! I hope your knee comes good fast. Flooring is tough on the knees I know. I loose a bit of workshop space but gain a segregated clean fun area. It will all work out as I still have plenty of space in the workshop. Thanks again and all the very best!
Always great to see your videos. Really like the old tongue and groove wall.
We love the old T&G walls too and where luck to get some for a good price. Takes a bit to clean it up, but it's worth it.
The beam looks really good. Along with everything else I have seen you make.
Thank you!!!
Great job Scott. Everything looks amazing. 👏👏👏
Much appreciated John!!
Great to see another video from you. Always insperational to us mere mortals.
Too kind Paul; thanks mate!
Scott, your "concrete" wall looks a treat, well done, looking forward to the completed article in the coming weeks
Thanks Shane!
Great to see what you have been up to, Scot! Hope you both are well !
All good here, thanks Jeff!
It's lookin' amazing, Scott!
My second favourite Australians, after Kylie obviously
Haha, fair enough :) Thanks!
Imaginative and quite pretty. Thanks for your time and skills!
Thank you!!
What a great space, Scott! Thanks again for taking us along for the ride.
Thanks Andrew and all the best!
Greetings from Chilly Victoria Scott. Looking great brother. I gather the missus decided this was all too boyish and left you alone for this build :)
Cheers Rob! Yes I told Judy we cannot do sparkly girly pretty stuff in here, only hairy bloke stuff (I think I'm in trouble again ;)
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Hairy bloke stuff :) Yes, gold for us but dangerous talk Scott.
It is AMAZING!!!! 🤘 All your effort to create something unique is worth. I love your channel and I love your art and work. 🤘❤️
Thank you so much!
Hi Scott , Love how the concrete wall turned out . Didn’t expect it to look so good .Looking forward to seeing you making some cool metal art. Love your bar , made a few myself while having a break from my longtime hobby of electronics . Keep them videos coming . Frank
Much appreciated Frank!
Looks great! Great space to get the "cleaner" stuff done. Like the concrete wall look
Thanks Derek! Things are falling into place at last!
That effect on the wall is awesome! I'm doing something similar in my workshop now, I might try something similar
Cheers Robin! The working time was drastically reduced with the added concrete pigment. Some one said to add citric acid to the mix to extend the working time. All the best mate :)
That wall came up a beauty nice work mate and the beam looked fantastic.
Thank you!
Phenomenal, Scott! Your skill, diligence and artistic style have resulted in yet another top-shelf project. Great results come from inspired work and you have no shortage of inspiration, that's for sure. The faux cement wall looks very cool and those brackets you manufactured, including the bolts made from bar stock, are over the top. Nice idea, that beam. Can't wait to see what "stuff" you add to it, hopefully not a Sherman tank. Cheers!
Cheers Rick! I have a few other jobs to do around the property but hopefully I can get the other side of the room finished in the next few weeks.
Man, you are so multi talented
Thank you!
What an awesome space you’ve created Scott, would never have thought of that cement finish on gyprock, looks great.
Cheers Andrew!
Looks great. I have been surprised before that mud daubers (we call them dirt daubers in Alabama) are so common there on the other side of the planet. They're universal. Gyp rock is new to me. Used to be sheet rock here, but nowadays everybody calls it drywall.
Thank you Wayne! With all our wet weather there is no shortage of mud for these daubers to nest up. They put little spiders in the nest with the lavae so food is ready at hand. Yes we call it the brand name Gyprock here. We are familiar with the Sheet Rock or drywall terms as well. All the best Wayne!
. Nice.. Enjoyed that... Looking forward to the next one....
Thank you!
good to see ya back - keep them coming
Thanks Ian!
Absolutley fantastic progress Scott. So hard to believe it has been two years already, since the start of this off-grid adventure.
Where does the time go?
Keep up the great work my friend. You will have your workshop fully up and running again before long. Love and Respect to Judy and yourself. Take Care, Stay Safe, Untill the next time. All the very best From North London UK. xx
Love your comments and feedback Trev, thanks mate!
Very cool, love the Australiana industrial look.
Thank you BAD!
Great work, Scott!
I'm doing something similar - on a much smaller scale. I always get good ideas and inspiration from you.
Much appreciated!
Great Job Scott. Perfect. Regards Tom
Thanks Tom!
Hey mate. Hope life's being good to you both! Looking forward to this bloody wet weather passing! Lol. If ya need a hand on a weekend to shift, lift or hold, holler out. Only 10 mins away mate! Cheers.
G'day Warren! Yep, need some sunshine badly. Much appreciated on the offer for help. When the room is finished drop by and give me a hand to test the bar works okay ;)
Yer on! Lol
Great work mate, loving the look on the new wall
Cheers Leon!!
Good on you for trying new things.
Thank you!
THATS a man cave. Looks amazing.👍
Thank you!
HI Scott. Another excellent building work of art i do like your thoughts & plans well done.

Good on ya, Scott. That looks great
Cheers Robert!

Thanks Mario!
Looks great mate, hope the ball and chain whipped you up some cake for afterwards
Thanks Booobface! Yes always plenty of cake. Really I should be much rounder than I am ;)
Looking good Scotty 👍🏾
Thanks Kym!
Great video mate. The property is coming along great. Sorry to hear about Narla cheers.
Thanks Mate :) Yes loosing Nala in her prime was hard to take. All the best!
Awesome, I'm very jealous!
Cheers Dave!
HEY Mike, when you gunna make an end to it huh? No. Not when you've finished your Columbine's but when Judy says it's finished. Mate you a bloody clever little devil. I'll bet the battery runs out on that drill pretty quick. You've done it again Scotty. Shit that looks good.
Cheers Chris! Yes Judy kicks me out of bed every morning and tells me to get my guts back on the job :) The battery drill has the 5 amp batteries. Runs for aaaggggesss but the drills have copped a flogging with all the builds.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious I was actually referring to the brace and bit and you being the battery. LOL. That wall come up bloody terrific mate. You know that people down in " smogville " [ Melb] would pay some joker a fortune to do that.
Such an eye for the artistic! Next time you're in the States, you'll have to come by to organize my little pit of despair and do some pretty wall treatments! Aces all around, and I'm glad to see that forge getting lit. I think you did some excellent smithing there.
Hey Vaughn! It is nice to get the forge going. I'm on the hunt for a decent anvil but the little guy I have fits okay with my skill level for now. Deal! When I'm over next. All the best!
You do great work your videos makes me want to more
Much appreciated Geoffrey!
Lookin great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Gib!!
Great life balance.
Thank you!
It looks great and will only get better as you add more of your art and creations within! Super job, Scott!
Thanks as always Tom!
Thanks for taking us along
Have watched your videos for a long time you’re a very skilled talented guy.
So don’t take this the wrong way, it’s not a criticism because we’re always learning, all of us, where the the sheets join together they should always be on a stud or they will warp over time and damage coating
Thanks Ian. No problems. I'm always happy to receive sound advice. In my case I put on back blocking at those joints, I think apart from one very close to the stud high up.
Awesome video Scott.
Cheers!
Good job! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Fabulousness, as usual!
Thank you Kym :)
WOW!!
For me, fabulous!
Thanks Rod!
Lovely place, very nice work..! 😊
Thanks Karl!
👍👍👍
Love what you are doing - kind of jealous if I must admit
Huge thanks Arnold!
Nice job as always
Thanks Ronnie!
I really enjoy getting lost in your videos Scott! There's nothing you can't achieve and seeing things like your temp jig on the welding table to bend the stock for the brackets.... Cool!
Thank you! Sometimes you have to do things the hard way to learn the easy way.
Love it, Great Job, have a refreshment cheers
Cheers Craig!
Cool stuff, Scott.
Thank you!
Great as always 👌
Thank you Richard!
Scott you 25:59 & Judy have come along ways from ground zero it looks great. It’s nice to see you to the point where you can get your workshop up and running . I love your furniture designs . Thanks
Many thanks!!!
Great job mate, looks awsome.
Thanks Greg!
Try citric acid in the plaster base mix to extend the set/working time
That would be worth trying, thanks!
So cool, love the concrete look, good to get a video from you Guys.
😂 Thanks for another great forme industrious segment Scott and Judy.
Thanks Tony!
J'ai beaucoup apprécié oui, comme d'habitude. A très vite !😉
Merci!

Thanks Mark!
Any one with a name with Scott in it.... makes me happy!
So nice, thank you so much!
Great job mate.

Awesome 😊
Thank you!
I'm the first to comment and I love it!
:) Thank you Jenny! Still have heaps to do to transform the area, but it should be fun to do.
Thank you for another excellent video!
Thank you!!
Showing the mud daubers how it's done 😀
Those walls came out great and work awesome together
The Mud Daubers are quietly watching to see how I fit out their new digs the rotters! Many thanks!
Good work, nice dog
Cheers Shane!
Genius little jig you made to bend and shape the iron. Oh to have a workshop like yours! 😍
Thank you! The jig really made getting the bend right much easier.
Great little dream space! And there's that artist we all know and love. Hope you find heaps of inspiration in your new chill zone!
Huge thanks Rob and all the best!
You continue to amaze me Scott. ⚒
Much appreciated Malcolm!
Nice one mate
Thank you!
