some characters can be a bit frustrating to fight but people kinda blow it out of proportion imo, someone running BS like that on you probably has a lot of experience, sometimes u gotta take that L and move on. I do like playing neutral and counter hitting long pokes with stubby normals, stuff like that is fun to me, sometimes its a true gorilla round over in 10 seconds, sometimes its a grueling uphill endurance match, smell of the game

it's mainly a problem for a.b.a specifically, she's insanely slow outside of jealous rage. if you play someone like giovanna getting in is easy as hell

I will admit while zoning is "annoying", I highly advise playing testament, axl, (jack-o in certain scenarios if played this way) to try it out. A lot of people think zoning is the hellspawn of guilty gear but with characters like slayer, sin, and a few others with extremely accessible forward moving tools. It is way harder for the zoner to win against anyone that will and should know the match-up if higher level. Criteria for high level play is complicated but notice how when any rushdown/ character gets their hands on the zoners that probably chipped away at their health bar. They proportionately lose a lot for being within reach of the enemy? As someone who farmed a lot of hours on millia once you catch them you make it count. Not every player has adequate practice on defense you trap them and its game over. Their buttons aren't exactly made for close range minus a few exceptions which are specifically made for them to weasel out of the crappy position they got put into. No im not a zoner apologist, but considering wild assault and a few other characters have access to really easy ways to put a zoner in their place I get tired of the perspective that its not fun from the rushdown perspective. Zoners don't exactly find it fun when they lose 80% of their health in one combo, nor do they like being looped into the same situation after all the stuff they have thrown @ the enemy. Idk just food for thought its an even playing field I say and peoples own strengths as players have more merit than we initially give credit for.

As a testament player I love them but it can be really difficult to do anything against many characters; Zato is the only character that’s bad but testament is just outmatched by nearly everyone
