I worry this will become too common. 😔 there's nothing worth it in being a fighter to be honest, health over wealth any day. 🙏 I love BJJ it's great and as I see more fighters slurring speech etc I find myself wanting to watch BJJ competition more. Just hope young men realise what damage being a fighter can do, they're still at the stage of life where they feel invincible 😔♥️

This is obviously just my opinion, but have thought Jones has been retired for awhile now. It's not like he's coming off a massive injury or something. He's just been "building" towards something for a few years with nothing to show for it. I'd be surprised if he actually fights again.

Idea for an episode: look back att end of 2021 predictions for year 2022, and talk about what predictions were on the spot and what were not. At the end of 2023 you could talk about the predicitons in this episode.
Sounds like too much work for the MK crew to track back, but they could start now, but even then, a lot to track when they change their mind. I don't think it'd work.

Considering he only spent a total of 1 fight camp with Krause, it’s safe to say he will look exactly the same as he has for his last fight and every fight before that. It’s takes much longer than 1 camp to really change an experienced fighter

Moreno was a rare case where Krause actively made him worse and gave terrible between rounds advice lol constantly saying to kick when that was Figgy’s best way to drag Moreno down again. Krause is 10/10 at making ok fighters good to great. He can’t make great fighters champions and there’s no shame in that. Even prior to being banned from the sport lmao

I think Zhang Weili has the potential to become that PPV star - she just has this ability to get the crowd on her side and did you see her on the MMA Hour post Carla win? Her english is tremendous and she'll likely nail those post-fight one-liners that people can't help but adore in 2023. If she keeps winning AND adds that to what she brings to the UFC - I think you'll be surprised by how big her star power gets by the end of the year.
Wow I'll have to listen to the interview. At this point Zhang is the best female fighter in the world. She will go down in history as the best female MMA fighter. She was green and didn't have ring IQ initially. But her improvements have put her in a class by herself. Rose is equally skilled but has some unpredictable mental blocks.

My predictions for divisions in the UFC
Heavyweight: Ngannou beats JJ. Pavlovich beats Gane to become #1 contender and beats Ngannou. Stipe loses to Curtis blaydes and retires.
LHW-: Glover becomes champ and loses belt to Ankalaev who might beat Jiri upon return.
MW: Adesanya loses for a fourth time and Whittaker beats Alex to become the first ever two time middleweight champion
WW: (hot take) Belal somehow becomes champion . Usman might not comeback against Leon as expected.
LW: Makhachev beats volk and Dariush. If he has a third defense within the year it's the winner of fiziev Vs Oliveira
FTW: Volk beats interim champ and Arnold Allen and remains champ. Aljamain ends up in the top 10 after moving up
BW: Aljamain loses to Cejudo. Cejudo beats O'Malley
Flyweight. Moreno beats Figueiredo and loses his belt to Pantoja.

Romanov lost to Tybura in his last fight...fairly convincingly and arguably should have lost to Sakai. No mention of Leon or Kamaru as possibilities at Welterweight...Sheesh.
I think they both see it as inevitable that either Khamzat or Shavkat grab the belt. Kamaru will likely be aging out of title contention soon and Leon won the belt in a fight he was losing 80% of.
@Chris Gilmore can't disagree that they are definitely in contention. However khamsat was less than convincing against Burns, Rahkmanov is a beast but hasn't been fully tested yet (Magny was a nice win).. Leon and Colby might be older but I think should have at least been spoken about. Also don't like the narrative that Khamzat just rolls through Colby..people forget pretty easily how good that guy is. Usmans injury of course puts him in jeopardy.

For featherweight Yair Rodriguez should be someone to keep an eye on. If anyone can beat Volk, it's someone with the striking and unpredictability of him. Needs to get his wrestling sorted and deal with Emmett. I wish he fought Conor when he was at FW. He has the toughness as well as the skill.
