    Thank you for providing this information! When I heard that Kefir was helpful for inflammation, I started drinking it because of the chronic inflammation I experienced in my knees. The inflammation was so bad that I had pretty much stopped exercising because I didn't want to
    further aggravate my joints. Since starting on a daily regime of Kefir, I now exercise regularly and can feel my body getting stronger. By the way, I also get compliments on my skin!

    I’ve been drinking kefir every day for about a year (either adding it to my breakfast bowl or drinking it straight) and it cleared acne on my face entirely. However afterwards I developed acne on my back which I later found out can be caused by too much milk kefir for too long. So I switched to water kefir (I think it was even based on your recommendation on Instagram 🙂) and the acne on my back cleared while my face stays clear of acne too. Kefir is gold ❤️

      Thanks so much for sharing this. Whey protein (found in many milk products) can trigger body acne in some people, so I’m delighted to hear the water kefir is working for you!

    I use goat milk rather than cows milk. It doesn't have all the lactose that cows milk does so even better on the gut. Thanks for the video, its good to see the evidence speak for itself

      I also use goat’s milk to make mine! It does contain lactose, but it has a different casein protein, which is better tolerated by some. I think it makes for tasty kefir too. Thank you for watching!

    i always pour kefir in my rolled oats to reduce the insulin spike from oats since kefir is high in fat.

    The reason milk is inflammatory is not because of the lactose. If you ever read research in the difference between A1 milk and A2. A2 is easier on the stomach and more digestible. A1 milk from Holstein releases a casein call BCM-7, which inflamed the gut and causes all sorts of issues. I make raw milk kefir with A2 jersey cow milk and it has made a world of positive difference for me.

      Lactose can pose problems for some people, but I agree, it’s not the main driver of skin issues. The process of fermentation also reduces IGF-1 levels in milk, which is known contributor to the acne process. Fermentation fundamentally changes the food and its effects!       No, unpasteurized is fine. The grains will ‘add’ the friendly bacteria!

      You can, and there’s a study looking at the Nitrosomonas eutropha species for this purpose, but the research isn’t nearly as robust. Weirdly, we know more about the gut microbiome than the skin microbiome!

    It seems like using a metal seive kills off the kefir, not sure how true that is but my last batch was shrinking.😢

      Opinions on this are conflicting! You could perhaps try a plastic sieve for a bit and see if it makes a difference?

      If you're drinking high-quality (preferably homemade) kefir, you don't necessarily need a probiotic supplement

    Just subscribed! I’m trying raw kefir for the first time and seeing some online comments about adding or not adding honey… can you please share your thoughts?

      Honey is ultimately sugar, albeit with more nutrients. If it will encourage you to drink the kefir, then go for it, but use it sparingly 👍
