Galvano Gimbaled Mirror

Animation of the In-Air Galvano Gimbaled Mirror which is designed for the Virgo experiment at the European Gravitational Observator near Pisa. 20 assemblies will be delivered by Nikhef. They will be used in a control loop to keep a beam centered on a quadrant Photo-diode.

4 Flexure Pivot Bearings with a torsional spring rate of 1,67 Nmm/°
4 Neodymium Magnets
4 Copper Voice Coils with 600 windings and wire Ø 0.25mm

Resonances are ~ 26Hz (H) and 30Hz (V)
Mirror can be glued from the back
