I'm glad you're continuing this series despite the release of the new Heresy edition. There's something about the Badab War and other Imperial Armour conflicts that are really appealing to me. Personally looking forward to seeing some Minotaurs, Star Phantoms and Carcharodons painted up in your style.
Seconded!
They rock for sure.
I have always been a siege of wracks man myself but Badab war has the charchahhrahcharahcharhahcadons and the mantis warriors both pretty rad so its a close second
I will never get rid of my Badab War books, ever.
Amazing outcome, I would almost give him a mini diorama running through rainforest chasing a Tau
I was really hoping to see a mantis warrior when I saw the new contrast paint named after them. Great to see the Badab war being represented here!
Too good an opportunity to not do it!
Mantis Warriors are my chapter of choice! Love their scheme.
Very cool chapter
So about.... pfff gotta be close to 10 years if not already, I had my first ultramarines set. I wanted to be a little different since I wasn't fully keen on the blue at the time and used this sort of matt mossy green paint with a gold trim on their should pads. And young me, with no knowledge of any factions other than "ultramarines" called my army the Mantis warriors, cuz I liked praying mantis's and green has always been a favourite color of mine. so imagine my surprise, ten years later (probably), when I getting back into warhammer and after a bit of research to remake my first army I find the paint "mantis warrior green".
Sadly my first army is missing and I suspect it got thrown out by parents, but I'd have loved to look over them again and see how young me painted them. I doubt I'll ever come close to something like this video but I'd like to see how well I did back in then
This looks amazing, love seeing lesser known chapters get some love. I'd love to see your take on the Minotaurs!
The chapter I have tried and failed to paint the most times!
Holy crap, that colour gradient is sweet AF.
That looks damn good! We love to see some cheeky Badab content, nice job
That looks class! Glowy eye lens tutorial as well
Thank you for the clear step by step. Been looking for a good tutorial on airbrushing with contrasts!
They’re great for it.
For the Mantis Warriors!
Take my like and subscription.
Keep up the good work!
Such an amazing job
Thanks!
So many good tips. Thank you.
Amazing so good to see. Any Badab war stuff is great, I’ll take this whilst I wait for more titans ;)
Mmmm more titans….
Great tutorial Henry. Nice to see a bit of Badab love. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Phil
Absolutely fantastic
Thanks!
Just lovely Henry!
Thanks mate!
Love the eyes on that, very simple but effective and not over the top.
Glad you like it!
Beautiful !!!
Looks awesome. Love that eye lens trick too. Defo want to try that! 👌🏻
Go for it!
Absolutely stunning Henry! ⚡ Can't wait for more of your Badab content, very interested to see how you tackle the Carcharodons Astra 💀
Thanks mate. They are an important one to get right.
Vids like these got me really wanting an airbrush. Amazing video as usual mate!
We’re bias, but they are a great tool to have access to.
@@cultofpaint oh definitely, though they are quite daunting lol.
So excited for Word Bearers
Me too
That Matt varnish really makes the difference.
Big time
Love the tip about pre-shading the greens with a brown base. Yellows over magenta is a classic but are there any more combos that are worth knowing? If so, a cheeky video on coloured pre-shading would be amazing!
That new intro was insane!
Fantastic as ever. I'm really looking forward to trying the new contrast paint when painting my Sons of Medusa. I've been using the AK enamels the same way and find them easier then oils.
Love your painting style. Keep up the good work. I look fwd to your take on the Sons of Medusa 😏😏
Thanks Andy. Yeah I think enamels are my fave too. Just so smelly!
Great video as always gents. The Mantis Warrior scheme is spot on. Maybe Novamarines soon.
Already got the nova mini picked!
333rd thumbs up; your channel has become essential viewing - always a visual feast for the eyes. Cheers!
Gorgeous job. The Mantis Warriors scheme isn’t one I’d be naturally drawn to but this looks fantastic. Also love the choice of the Space Marine Heroes sculpts. Especially pleasing since I’ve actually started a little Astral Claws project using both the first (regular marines) and second (terminators) waves of the heroes lines that I can still find second hand. I’ve been following the guide (with some small adjustments) you put out for them a while back and loving the results so far. Can’t wait for the next Badab instalment, seeing those beautiful colour plates come to life has been brilliant.
Sounds great!
Yes!!! We're working on a Badab war campaign at my LGS. I'd love to see your take on Minotaurs. I'm about halfway through painting my army and I wouldn't mind the temptation to completely change it up hahaha.
Haha ok!
This makes me want to try a badab war army of my own, there are so many to pick from too
Minotaurs are the coolest. Astartes Spartans.
Pretty neat
That unlit eye tho. Badass
Awsome
Awesome tutorial! If you ever organize a workshop in Amsterdam I'm definitely interested to participate!
Same here! I'd hop on a train so fast hahaha
Hell yeah more Badab. My fave story in all Warhammer. Can't wait for Tiger Claws, though they have 2 schemes. Yes I know they're involved with Astral Claws, but I loved the orange.
Be fun to do them.
*patiently waits for old yellow and black Sally camo vid*
Magnificent ! I would be trilled to see how you paint a Lamenter with the new contrast !!!???
Deal!
@@cultofpaint Yay !!! ha ha ha you made my day !!!
Thats ace. I need a way of replicating this with brushes (or something like it).
Striking scorpions scheme :D
Amazing work, Big Hezza! GW should REALLY release these Terminator's as an actual ETB kit that we can buy. Paying £150 on eBay for all 6 of them would be madness. I love the Tartaros/MK.IV claws on that Indomitus Terminator armour. They fit so well. I may have to pick up some of those claws as bits from the MK.IV kit and put them on those sorts of Terminator's.
Such a great set of models
If we’re continuing on with the Badab War Series, which I’m loving BTW, any chance we’ll see some Raptors in the near future?
Great video. I’ve noticed you’ve been using the evo a lot more than the infinity recently. Just wondered what you find different about them as brushes? Thanks for the content.
I left some varnish in my infinity so switched over a few videos back. Just haven’t swapped back. They’re both fantastic brushes. The light weight of our infinity is just awesome when painting for any length of time.
Can’t wait to see you tackle the Lamenters, with that nightmare of a chapter symbol.
Yeah I think that will be a big part of that video.
More Badab !!!
The video no one wanted but everyone was happy we got
Oh boy! It's happening!
Can you do more brush work. I don’t have an airbrush and can’t afford one. I would love to have skull to get a result like this but I have no clue how
nice
No idea what I'd use it on but I think you've sold me on that mantis green paint. already have a yellow and magenta on order.
It is a good green.
Yes more Badab schemes!
I’m looking forward to ding more in this series
That intro is fantastic! If it's from something else...I'd really like to know what! Thanks for the great painting video!
The waiting music type thing?? It’s just a theme you can pick for a CZcams premiere.
@@cultofpaint the animation is a CZcams theme? Man I remember...older days:) Thanks for the awesome content.
Not like I needed anymore reason to paint some mantis warriors... Thanks Henry for helping me pick up ANOTHER Legion to paint 😂 all jokes aside, an amazing recipe as usual
Haha welcome!!!
ALRIGHT ITS TIME FOR LAMENTERS (I need a good mustard yellow recipe)
one of the most asked for
He's beautiful ! Really nice tones. One suggestion : you shouldn't do bases off camera (even if there is a video on it ^^)
Helps keep the run time down.
Please take this in the spirit it is intended. I would kill to be able to paint like this
Hopefully there was nothing in the video that didn’t look achievable?
@@cultofpaint I sent you a message about attending a class. I can't begin to tell you what being able to paint like this would mean to me....
@@wolfworks101 replied yesterday.
I don't like green or yellow, but this Terminator is perfect! Taking NOTES, lol!
Smashing. I thought you said red eyes are for baddies? The green eyes look super cool
They are. Surely you’re not suggesting the brave Mantis lads are naughty?????
ThAtS a NeW TeRmInAtOr
Do you think any of the greens are good for sons of medusa? Struggled really hard to find a good green for them before settling in the old warpstone green layer paint.
Will have a look.
@@cultofpaint Thinking Karandras Green is the one; I'll pick some up and give it a shot through the airbrush
Where did you get the transfer for this?? I've looked everywhere Dx
The Mighty Brush
Still waiting on the Word Bearers Army painting video!
Needed a little break but we’ll get back on that heresy train soon!
I didn't see anyone else ask, but where is the terminator from?? I'm a Dark Angels player who uses primarily Deathwing and ho boy are the termie kits kinda bland and have boring poses, something like that really shows these tanks in motion!
Space marine heroes set 2
Oh no what paints am I going to order now
Haha!
Did those lightning claws come from the Terminator box or somewhere else??
It's one of the minis from the Heroes range. No alterations.
@@cultofpaintThank you! Just found one on EBay. Going to try this scheme. It looks so good.
Carcharodons next?!
Certainly sooner than later.
Is someone able to tell me where these space marine hero models are available or just point me in the direction of some information regarding them?
Out of production for a couple of years. But they are often on eBay.
And where did you get the decals ?
The mighty brush
Where do you get the mantis warrior chapter symbol?
I got mine from mighty brush. Check out Etsy as well
@@cultofpaint I will thanks!
monke monke monke monkeigh
Transfers from mighty brush?
Yep!
Oooh, maybe mantis warriors will beat out lamenters for a little badab project I want to do
Certainly less commonly seen
Was the decal from 3rd party or homemade?
The Mighty Brush
Certainly different using these new paints but Vallejo do a similar range and as I use them all the time, will continue as GW paints I dislike.
