It’s funny for ultramarine Hersey style I always think of the vengeance of the calath veterans/survivors. These weren’t the parade ground blues of the legion. Their armor was blacken and scorched and pitted by the hatred of brother fighting brother. And they burnt with a fury.
Or the ultramarine who there primarch said was polishing his armor to much and said “ it’s what we do dad”
Yeah that makes a lot of sense - even more muted and damaged, reflecting that they're out for justice/revenge so upkeeping their armour takes a very secondary place in their minds.
Just a heads up for those that got the pro acryl starter box, their sky blue is also basically identical to Teclis blue

That blend you had with the base color was awesome looking. I tend to go a similar way with my Ultramarines and I like how it turns out.

I do think that helmet looks a bit odd tbh, absolutely insane painting regardless.

I will always associate the desaturated petrol blue of a handful of RTB01 plastic Ultramarines which featured in ‘Eavy Metal with Rogue Trader era Heresy before the bright primaries of 90s 40K became firmly cemented within the lore. A pleasure to watch - many thanks.

This was fantastic. What I'd love to see is a late heresy Emperor's Children scheme that adds alot of the vibrant and strange colours that they describe in the books.
Some late heresy could be fun.

I was curious to why you use the Evolution airbrush rather than the infinity? This is easily one of my favourite painting and miniature channels, love it!
I’m fortunate enough to own both. And my infinity is unassembled after a clean. I use them completely interchangeably.

@@cultofpaint exactly! I'd love to see what you come up with. Some crazy patterned shoulder pads and legs could be really cool. All battered and bruised. Mixed armour variants. You can literally do what you want so I thought it would be a great one for you go do and feel free while doing it 🙌🏽

Those mark 6 marines make me want to do another marine project.... But I'm a Kill team player with SEVEN Teams and FOUR of those teams are Marine teams

The Illuminated And the Cult of the Ancient Muse (Compendium Chaos rules) Loyalist Alpha Legion attempting to purge the followers of the imperial cult (Eclesiarchy) because they follow Leticio Divinitatus written by Lorgar Aurellian and use Cultists to lure them out (Current cult all women (escher models) found ancient terran music recordings and took the names of ancient female rockstars)
The Shrouded (Legionaries Rules) Word Bearers (Something to oppose The Illuminated other than my wife's sisters
The Rusted Host (Compendium Deathguard Rules) Something to be hunted by Memoirs of Isstvan and a reason to buy the cool Deathguard Space Marine Hero's Boxes.

With this scheme, probably S75 decayed and elven gold.

@@anowl9773 I’d add gold to elite units and characters for sure.
I painted the bobbles on the shoulder gold and the chest belt clasp gold as well. Helps them match in with my other Ultras.
The very first time I ever touched an airbrush was on the back of this video. I painted a 20 man mkvi tac squad in this rough style and they look stunning. Great video, the advice on thinner for each colour was a god send as I havent quite got 'the feel' of the mix yet.

Im confused by the Horus Heresy models- is 30k actually a different game than WH40k? Or whats the deal with that?
It’s a prequel. Most of the models are playable in both
same universe, 10k years apart for the story.
@@cultofpaint Those facts are rather obvious, what I meant was as far as the gameplay goes- do the 30k models have rules/stats compatible with play in WH40k or would they have to be played either only in Horus Heresy or in 40k as, "counts as"?
