Dude( the math guy, cap D is cool as hell) lost all credibility to me when he first made a video about how to detect fraud a while prior to the US election then after that exact method showed Bidens party committed fraud he backtracked and said "Na na thats not how it works they are all conspiracy theorist" ignoring his past videos demonstrating its effectiveness with fraud. Barely watched shit from him since as its clear he was more about propaganda then truth. Cant trust people like that to teach me stuff I dont already know because for all I know he is trying to teach me 2+2=5.

Is actually easier to fo with a prop since his head is so close to the camera. Just have someone drop the prop slightly off view of the camera over your head and make sure you fall in a convincing way. Just... head injuries or even death may happen.

I mean, he really only debunks stuff that people believe could be real; stuff that makes people ask if it's real instead of knowing it's visual effects. I'd be surprised if someone actually believed all the holograms, transitions, and futuristic effects were 100% real.

Fun fact: We actually use a strobe light to adjust track on the helicopter rotor blades. By having small reflective targets and a strobe tuned to the rotor RPM we can see if the blades are moving in the same plane (on a fully articulated rotor) adjustments can then be made to either pitch links or tabs on the blade to bring them in to optimal track for the least vibration.

Well, yeah, but I think he meant that the helicopter used jets or something to land without moving the rotors. But... why? As you said, the purpose of a helicopter is to land vertically lmao
Helicopters do use a system of rotating wings to land vertically.
extavior helicopters vary the angle of the blades (collective pitch) and the throttle. Otherwise any side wind would propel them upward with no way to get down. It’s unusual to have a rotor speed this constant with changing loads on the whole system. Either excellent pilot or modern electronics keeping the rotor speed steady.

"The camera with a global shutter" sequence was well acted. "Selling" that the camera was heavy was one thing, but after you mounted it on the tripod and had to "recover your strength", was the key selling point. Hi Captain. Just discovered your channel recently. It's fantastic.
Some more details:
The original clip is filmed at 30 fps.
The helicopter in the clip is an EC155. In normal flight, the rotor spins at 342rpm. For helipad take-offs and landings you engage a "HI NR" mode to give you extra rotor inertia in case of an engine failure, so you can safely abort the landing or departure. That brings the rotor speed to 360 rpm. So you get this. It also looks really cool on video when the HI NR mode is turned on and off.
Source: about 1800 hours flying in one of those.

While it's certainly a possibility that he stopped the blades with his gloves, I'd wager a guess that it was filmed backwards and he's actually pushing the fan blades to make them spin.

It's just a bug, it was fixed in the 2019 August patch.

The strobing lights with the fan is how you set timing on alot of older cars
It's called a timing light.
And it flashes everytime your cylinder 1 spark plug fires. You typically point the light at the crank pully, and it has a little mark on it for TDC. The block has other marks on it that mark degrees, so you can see how far from TDC you're spark is occurring. You're not aligning the strobe speed though like CD was to match his fan. You're just spinning the distributor to make the strobe occur earlier or later in the rotation.

They’re always worth waiting for though. IMO Captain D is as good as CZcams gets, in terms of originality, production values, humour, etc

Every auto mechanic experiences this effect every time they use a timing light to check/adjust the timing on an engine.
Yeah, back in the 80s my dad was timing an old car of his and the fan blades looked like they were not moving and my friend thought that was odd and reached in to check it out.... Before my dad could stop him he lost the tip of his finger! We found it on the driveway some hours later...

The duration of the light equates to shutter speed. It makes zero fucks how quick the light flashes (frame rate) if the duration of the light is out of synch. This video is gay.
