Each time I watch vlogs like this I’m left even more in awe. As if it’s not hard enough putting on a high quality show, I hadn’t even thought of all the audio, mixing, scanning, frequency exclusions, FloMarching feeds and everything else that needs to be organised. Well done. What amazing organisation and passion. It’s always a pleasure to watch people performing at the top level - no matter what they are doing.

How do you determine if the balance issues are an audio fix (mixer edits) or a performance issue ("marimbas: play softer")?

That’s a great question and is very dependent on the situation.
There are scenarios where we as a staff discuss whether we want to change the mixer volume, the performer volume, or the mallet choice.
A lot of it is dependent on the tone and color of the instrument. If we change the performer volume it can have an affect on the color and timbre that we’re hearing. So if we like the timbre but want it to be softer that usually happens at the mixer level.

What wireless access point are you using? The school I am the audio engineer for is using a tp-link wireless access point, but it seems like in larger stadiums with a larger audience, the wireless is far less reliable. Using the Ethernet output from our Behringer x32 to connect direct to the Access point. Thanks for your help!

We are using the Ubiquiti wireless access point. I believe its the UniFi 6, I'm not entirely sure about the exact model.
We mainly connect to the 5ghz band but it also has a 2.4ghz band that we sometimes connect to.
