The last story reminds me of that one where the boyfriend would let his girlfriend win in play wrestling all the time so she just assumed that she was stronger than him, and one day he didn't let her win and she was pissed that he "deceived her" and she wanted to break up with him.

He'd never do that to me and he does let me know when he's going easy on me but he also lets me know if there's no way to stop me without actually hurting me. while it is true that similar training and muscle mass will get you similar results regardless of gender, genetics does play a big part. there are a couple thousand genes that regulate skeletal muscle mass and it is, on average, greater in male members of our species. it is pure physics guided by genetic template. sure it can be rebuilt by strict training and similar physique but that is not consistently achievable as you can't just add 30% of height and bones and mass to females without rebuilding them on a celular level. we have to work with what we are born with.

He said that he resented her initially, was angry at the fact that she apparently couldn't care less while he apparently still cared a lot (I mean, sucks for him I guess, he deserved it). Which is understandable in some way, because it does raise the question whether she ever loved him to begin with. Now obviously we know for a fact that she did, because it wasn't nearly as easy for her as she displayed outwardly. But he doesn't know that.

My fiance and I met in MMA, and even though I know that from a technical standpoint I have the upper hand in a supervised match, if we were to actually fight in a life or death scenario, he would win from sheer strength. Last Story:
I've had the same experience with my (ex) girlfriend. She worked out all the time, I never do. She was so confident in her strength, and was shocked by how much I can lift. I wasn't even showing off or doing anything impressive, it was mundane... just tossing some haybales (about 35lbs) up into the loft of the barn which was maybe 12-15 foot high. Normal shit farmboys all over the world do routinely. It's a job you normally pay kids to do. She had a real crisis of confidence over that. And I'm not a body-builder or anything like that. I don't brag about how much I can lift because I'm sure most guys can handle more, I'm a whimp, lol. But I explained it like this:
"I'm literally twice your size and weight. Imagine lifting your twin sister onto your shoulders and carrying her around for an hour... how exhausted would you be? That's me, all the time, 24/7, when I'm not exerting myself. That's my baseline when standing still."
Weight counts for a lot more than strength, which is why professional fighters are divided by weight class. Kung-Fu movies are bullshit, a little guy cannot hurt a big guy. The guy whose 145lbs may be the best fighter in the world, but against someone whose 220lbs, he doesn't stand a chance. It's like swatting away a mosquito. Strength is meaningful. Skill is more meaningful, but size eclipses them both. That's why in those circles, there's so much emphasis on "bulking up".
But while guys are generally stronger, women are universally smarter, lol. I think they won that trade-off. Every accomplishment ever made by men was for the exclusive purpose of impressing a woman, either directly or indirectly. Take women out of the equation, and we'd all still be living in caves. The pinnacle of literature would be a poem with many rhymes for "Nantucket". The height of comedy would be "Pull my finger". Hell, without maternal intervention, we'd probably bludgeon each other to death with rocks by age 7, for no other reason than shits and giggles (lord knows boys still try to do this, even today... I think we all have battle scars from the neighborhood rock wars of childhood).
We only grow and advance because of women. Even our physical strength is owed to the fact that early female hominids could, and usually chose to outrun the scrawny asthmatic males. And they still do, lol. It comes down to selective breeding and which is the more discriminating gender? We only exist in this form because women find utility in it. We like to believe our primary utility is our sexual prowess, but let's face it, there are a million adequate substitutes for a penis, but very few options for getting a couch up a flight of stairs. We are as you have made us. So Thank You ladies for making us better.

Girlfriend is confident in her strength, hits the gym and takes selfdefense classes, and iirc her boyfriend doesn't. They play wrestle and she doesn't come anywhere close to winning and it crushed her self confidence of being able to defend herself against a man if something were to happen.

I cant remember that last one about the weight competition, but i do remember the one where the girl was super confident on her strength coz she took self defense classes or something like that and would playfight with her boyfriend and he would play with her like ''oh no u got me!'', until one day he had an appointment for something and she wouldn't let go, still full of confidence and the dude went ''ok then!'' and got lose, grabbed her, lift her up and put her on the couch, kissed her goodbye and left, and when he came home she wasn't there, then she called him and told him she was staying with a friend coz she didn't feel safe, coz turns out she really believed she was stronger than him, so him just overpowering her so easily shook her and later she broke up with him.
I think it was in TIFU,.

One of the (many) reasons I left my ex was due to his penchant for trapping me under the covers and farting. OP’s husband in the first story is absolutely going to screw up his body if he continues going down this path. I’m not a health expert, but I know that you should NEVER treat your digestive system like a toy. If you push it too hard long enough, you won’t just suffer pain, but ACTUAL long term side effects that are nearly impossible to reverse.
And from what OP said at the end, I think her husband is already entering that territory where his “funny joke” is evolving into an actual health issue.

There was another reddit story you did relating to the last one. The girlfriend was working out a lot and often play wrestled with him. One day he off handedly says he's been going easy on her. She tells him to prove it and so he pins her; thinking he got lucky she gets a rematch. He pins her a few more times and realizes that her boyfriend, who hardly worked out, could easily overpower her. She felt her efforts were invalidated and her boyfriend was lying to her by giving her false confidence. I think she was planning on breaking up with him. The story was either on r/AITA or r/relationship advice.

S5: As dating teenagers, my wife and I would play wrestle and I would let her 'win until one time I didn't and easily pinned her and immediately let her up three times. She was crying in frustration by the third time. Prior to this She had thought that all of the times I let her take charge was because I had no choice instead of allowing her to be a strong woman due to my strength. We were happily married until the day she died.

Hey Dabney. Maybe that last story was a different reddit story altogether but I remember a long while back you read a story about this girlfriend who constantly would tackle and hold down her boyfriend and he'd play along and let her win. Then one day he really had to leave so he didn't play along and she stewed about it the whole time while he was out. She tried to tackle him by surprise when he came home and it didn't work cause he wasn't prepared to play along and she screamed at him calling him a liar ect. And he was like come on babe you really didn't think you were stronger than me did cha? I believe he also lifted her weight rack after that. It's been a second but I remember your laugh after he said that line 😅

Story 2: it sounds like the mom WANTED the dad to feel like she said, “thank you, next”. I would tell the dad, but in a way that would make him feel more like shit. “She missed you a whole lot, but she got over it and moved on. You did something you can’t take back, so you’d better move on too.”
