- Hello stalkers, in this video we will talk about Clear Sky and their leader, Lebedev. According to a popular theory, Lebedev joined the C-Consciousness after the events of Clear Sky and became their representative. Let's see if this theory makes sense in relation to the lore.

Off topic fun fact: I heard on Reddit that Clear Sky was supposed to have a different ending than the final product. Scar was supposed to chase Strelok to the Generators and fight him. But right before killing him, his nervous system finally fails (has been since the first blowout he was caught in) and the last thing he sees is Strelok being captured by the C-Con members.
Yeah it makes sense, it's not that far from what we actually got. The end results would be the same.
Idk why they have to cut the generator map
It looked so beautiful

Yes, I hope the videos help with the long wait.
@@anomalousdugout9557 oh they do
I just started playing stalker a week ago. Finished Shadow of Chernobyl and got the greed ending because I was too scared and low on supplies so I thought I'd run all the way to the end. I'm moving on the Call of Pripyat and Im not lying, these games are hardcore but really cool. I understand it's appeal and I hope the second stalker game will be good.
Interesting theory. But in in russian\ukrainian versions Lebedev was voiced by Олег Стальчук, and C-consciousness representative by Анатолий Богуш. Considering everything else tho - very possible theory.
Oh I did not know that, thanks for clarifying that point.
I’ve always thought lebedev was a shady guy, even thought he had connections to the c-consciousness since he was part of the group.
Yeah the thing is, Scar is forced to trust him and believe everything he says, but I'm quite sure he had doubts as well.
@@anomalousdugout9557 yeah, scar isn’t just a “crazy murdering merc” he is pretty smart, so lebedev must have seemed at least a little crazy and weird to scar.
*Yes.*
He just looks shady lol
I kinda hope we see Clear Sky again as a faction. A small one but still as a proper faction. It's remants having reorganising themselves with their previous goal in mind, researching and understanding the zone.
So clear sky is like double agents working for c consciousness?
That would be a dope plot twist
Perhaps, we don't know.
I really like Clear Sky as a game and a faction. To be fair it's the only one I've played so far because I like factions and rpgs. I think it's important to study the zone before we can decide to destroy it, spread it, or exploit any of its resources for profit. You're a Godsend for stalker lore and you got me into this game singlehandedly I believe. You and DJ Peach Cobbler and Into The Zone.
Suslov kinda... *_sus_*
great vid btw
And btw in the 2010 STALKER 2 map and design documents the clear sky fighters were zombified and would be propably fought while exlporing the northern part of the CNPP
Yeah thanks, I know that, but as I said, this is a subject for another video...
Huh, this actually sounds somewhat plausible.
Also, there is never too much vids about Stalker lore or theories.
That's what I figured, already working on the next one !
Hey man,what's up?

Finally, an answer to the question that couldnt get out of my head, why is there a younger Lebedev photo at x18? Also great work linking up all the evidence together in a video format, its basically stalker lore for dummies who are to busy being confused at the zone to pay attention :)
I would'nt say it's for dummies, sometimes the pieces can be hard to put together, and not everyone knows about stuff like cut content and design documents. Anyway, glad I could answer that question for you, and thanks for the comment !
@@anomalousdugout9557 let me put "for dummies" in other words : even if i didnt know anything about stalker or stalker lore your videos are well explained, first you present a question and THEN you answer it making it entertaining to learn about these themes
Uhhhh....Special Reasons,OK?
2:00 Surprisingly, they were voiced by Steve Blum. He has the best Wolverine's voice.
Alright, interesting to know.
Yes, when I found it out I was surprised
You sure its blum? Doesnt sound like him
OP is completely wrong. They are voiced by Keith Szarabajka, who was for example Dr. Kyne or General Mahad in the Dead Space franchise or Harbinger in Mass Effect, among many other iconic roles. I know this original comment is a few years old, but I was so flabbergasted by the claim that the two Stalker characters are supposedly voiced by Blum (sounding nothing like Keith) that I had to write this.
@@Saidan79 Better late than never to rectify my comment, but it's so hard to tell which voice actor voiced which character. Maybe back then, my mouth was faster than my brain, but I was really convinced that Blum voiced those two characters, since it was the only voice actor I've mostly known from the cast.
damnn, I didn't think this lore went this deep. Amazing video!
It can go quite deep if you manage to find all the details, oh and thanks !
Been binging your videos before bed lol
Well thanks I guess, don't let that mess up your sleep schedule though !
Hey Kev! Funny seeing you here, It's me Soda.

Well, the Monoliths in fact has nothing to do with C-Con, or at least they don't know it. C-Con created the Wish Granter to cover their actions, and they brainwashed some poor stalkers, and made them into a faction to protect it. While they protect the Wish Granter, they protect the C-Con at the same time. But the Monoliths only wants to protect the Wish Granter, not the C-Con. So even if Clear Sky and the guys from C-Con is connected, it doesn't really bother the Monolith guys, since they just want to protect the Wish Granter.
This Lebedev guy always creeped me out.. I knew something was fishy with this dude.
Yeah, I think many players had the same feeling.
*BOO.*
I hope we get to see some remnant or even the old base of Clear Sky in STALKER 2...Clear Sky was always my favorite faction. Despite how fucked up they actually were lol.
There will probably be some references, but I don't expect the faction to be rebuilt like it was in some mods.
I love this!! Thanks so much I'm going to watch all your videos!!
Great, thank you stalker!
6:26 I don’t think this is actually wrong. I think the CS founders left the group after the rift in the noosphere was created on April 12th of 2006, and then the C-Con tried to interfere with it in order to harness it on June 10th, which caused the 2nd Disaster. This would mean that both true AC Design Doc and the C-Con Representative were right
Yeah, that could be the case indeed. I guess we'll never really know.
Very nice keep em coming man I need all the lore I can get my dirty stalker hands on
Thanks, gotcha there will be more.
your vids are amazing ! keep goin :)
Thanks, I will !
Man what a good job you done 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks.
Can't confirm it is the same actor. But indeed it does sound like the same ring. Difference is on Clear Sky he's speaking lower air on his voice but close to the microphone, thats why his voice sounds more sharpy / raspy but in a lower tone and energy. In SOC he sounds more "clear" kind of because hes speaking louder and possibly farther away from the mic. I'm 100% sure it is the same voice actor.
The patch on the Reps lab coat looks like the titular hawk emblem commonly seen amongst the mercs.
Yeah it does from afar, but I can confirm that it is another symbol which is worn by the personnel working in the Zone. The same patch can be seen on the coats of Professor Sakharov, Hermann and Ozersky, and even on some old zombie models.
I'm gonna counter other's personal theories, but I think Lebedev is Charon. If Charon is the leader of the Monolith forces and is supposed to organize their defenses, moving men and material, things like logistics and combat, you want a skilled leader to do this. The Monolith have MANY brainwashed individuals in their ranks and I'm not sure how reliable they could be counted on to organize such a scale of defenses on their own, even with the C-Conciousness oversight. But, once Clear Sky happens they see that they are still vulnerable and need to better lockdown their borders. And who did they just capture that understands the zone, logistics, strategic and tactical combat? Lebedev was managing an investigation through Scar, his connections, and sending other teams out to deal with Fang and Ghost while presumably managing their base in the Swamps before sending organized strike teams into Limansk. He specifically has advance and main squads so they can swap out between areas to rest and recover. The only question I still have is, was he brainwashed, or did he finally speak with his old colleagues and understood the work they were doing to stop the expansion of the Zone, and decided to stay and help keep Stalkers out to prevent further blowouts from happening and heal this scar (haha) on the world?
I wonder if the scientists in the cc can leave their pods, since there is a scientist that connects strelok to the pod. And also, what use would strelok be to join the cc since i doubt he has much scientific knowledge
Yes, maybe they can leave their pods but if they do the system weakens. As for Strelok, the C-C consciousness simply needs more people to survive, since the bodies connected to it eventually die.
Good vid
Thanks.
good content
Thanks.
I feel like the devs screwed Clear Sky up so much, not many people even consider it canonical... It could have been a plot twist, where Lebedev is lying to Scar about his resistance to emissions to brainwash him into believing that and eventually helping Clear Sky. Hell, even in the game itself, Scar will die from a single emission, yet he somehow survived the biggest one yet. I played through the game waiting for something like that, Monolith eventually leaving you and the Clear Sky alone and then - nothing. Fighting Monolith as always, cause that's supposed to be the strongest faction in the games and fits the endgame balance.
In the end, maybe Lebedev just faced the reality of the zone? Ending up with the same ideas of the C-conciousness team. In Clear Sky, he pretty much wants the same goal as C-conciousness - to stop Strelok and his group from going around the center of the zone, uncovering the secrets. Who is the scientist, who helps you get into the C-conciousness pod in the end of SoC anyways?
There's another small piece of evidence that could support this theory. In soc when you talk to the C-Consciousness representative he mentions that the bodies used for it will die. (Which is probably the only reason strelok was even offered to join) If this is true, it would make sense for lebedev to join them, maybe even involuntarily.
Yes, I very briefly mentionned it but it's true that I could have insisted on that.
@@anomalousdugout9557 my apologies I must've missed it
@@diffsnicker6570 No problem :)
the more I learn about this game the more I want to play but I am a bit confused about past games and its current state. Which should I start off with?
I think you should play the games in their order of release: Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, Call of Pripyat.
4:33 which is confirmed by the name written on the photo, Lebedev N. A.
Yes, no mistake possible here.
Funi green ghost scientist man.
Ahah yes.
Waiiiit a minute if the C consciousness is Lebedev so it means he coud be the wish granter ( the monolith) so it can means the Monolits and the Clear sky is almost the same but with the same leader this makes me thinking......
Hey, Anomdug, what do you think about Stalker Anomaly? Fans normally say that this fan game is better than the original game, I started playing it a few days and I noticed that they make a really crazy mix of the history of Stalker, what do you think?
I think Anomaly is a very good mod, probably one of the best ones based on Call of Chernobyl in fact. However, people need to remember that it is just that, a mod. As such, it will never replace the original games in my eyes, and its story should not be taken too seriously.
@@anomalousdugout9557 For real, and the original story is really catching too:
Shortly saying: A guy named Strelok goes to Chernobyl and the first great emission came, he is saved by doctor, and tries to go to Chernobyl again for the second time, while a guy name Scar goes after him trying to kill him, and when both came to Chernobyl with all the factions in war in that area, the second emission came and everyone is brainwashed, Scar becomes a Monolith, and Strelok becomes an Agent. Strelok returns to Cordon by a Death Truck who is hitted by a lightning, so as Marked One, Streloks tries to go to Chernobyl be the third time while the emissions stopped for a while. He goes reaches Chernobyl, discover every thing and the truth about he and the zone, he runs to the Monolith War Lab, and destroy the CC. After that a military from USS (Dagterayve, I don't remember how to write his name lol) lands in Zaton and starts to investigate what is happening in the zone, and in the end, Strelok and Dagterayve cross their paths, and he discouvers everything, going out of the zone togheter with the Spetznas.
@@maxopaladino Yes, that's basically how the story goes. Oh and it's spelled Degtyarev :)
@@anomalousdugout9557 Thanks man

They do look similar, yes!
Lebedev could have been forced to do it, he is one of the greatest stalkers after all a scientist and a combatant
yeah,i had to do this...

@@zherean42069 *"Sorry,private clan business"*
Does anyone know if the ending of ShoC where Strelok joins the C-Consciousness has been expanded on? I know its not canon but a new member may halt or even reduce the expansion of the zone
There are a few theories about that ending. Some believe that it is actually canon, and that the Strelok seen in Call of Pripyat is a clone. Also, there is the idea that Strelok was tricked by the representative so that he would take his place, freeing him from the C-Consciousness.
@@anomalousdugout9557 It would be funny in it's own way if Strelok was twice brainwashed by Monolith / C-Con and it didn't stick somehow, properly.
I think you sound like Artyom in the original Metro 2033
I guess I kinda do.
Idk man to me lebedev kinda looks like Dr. Phil
Yeah he does.
XD
I think I may of just noticed something at 4:31
The picture present on the wall looks to be potentially of a real life person from the Chernobyl disaster I think that could be one of the photos of the firefighters that were initially sent to combat the fire after the reactor exploded.
I could be wrong though, I'd be really curious if anyone finds out more about that picture though.
Some of the characters are based on real people so maybe it's possible.
@@anomalousdugout9557 i was based on arnold schwarzenegger
I remember reading somewhere that lebedev’s face was based off some security guard working at GSC gameworld studio
I wonder if these scientists in the pods r still alive
Indeed
The man himself!
the C -Consciousness representative looks more like sakharov.
He does, I think they actually used the old model of Sakharov.
only makes sense that's the thing that happened, they need new bodies since the others are decaying which is proven by one of the optional endings in SoC, doesn't have much importance anyway, only adds that the C-Cousciousness abducts leader like figures in replacing other bodies
That's right, if you consider that the representative is not lying of course. And yes in the end it's not that important, but still interesting to think about.
@@anomalousdugout9557 indeed, they are kinda more ego driven aswel since they admitted they just don't care how they made the mistake with strelok's assignment to hunt himself down "atleast that's what i think i heard them say"
@@anomalousdugout9557 got a theory, lebedev's obsession with stopping strelok before ending up abducted in the c-consciousness lead to the mistake of strelok getting assigned to hunt himself down, since those were lebedev's thoughts and memories taking effect before finally merging with the c-consciousness

Is clear sky an ecologist, scientist,or normal people??
Its founding members were scientists, but not all the people in the faction are.
@@anomalousdugout9557 so some of them are scientist..
I wonder why clear sky is almost neutral to any factions
Bruh...
I am not agree with this video. Because due to large emission that occur outside of Chernobyl, many stalker died who were out there at that time. So its clear, that Lebedev is dead and there is no doubt about it.
Well maybe they died during the emission, and I respect your opinion, but there is doubt. Here are some reasons why: 1) Some people can, to a certain extent, survive emissions (Scar is one of them). 2) Strelok was caught in the same emission as Lebedev and he did survive.
3) We do not actually know what are the true effects of emissions on people. Maybe they just die, or become zombies, or get "recruited" by the Monolith faction.
So yes, it is possible that Lebedev died during the emission, but we simply don't know.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Scar also suffered the same fate just as Lebedev.....because despite being stronger than other stalker in surviving from emission, Scar also have some limitations....it has been clearly explain in the game by Lebedev, when Scar was encounter second emission and later Lebedev told him that "every emission harms your nervous system and if this continue, you will die"...and that's what happen to him.....he was at his peak level, when the final emission occurred.......And I don't know about Strelok on how he survive to manage in this emission....because that's the big question mark??......Strelok is appear in all 3 Stalker franchise (Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat) and that surprise me a lot. I think the game developer wanted him to stay alive that's why.
@@vickymoore7852 Well, maybe. There are too many things that we just don't know. That is why this video is a theory, not a lore reveal.
