I remember coming home from the disco (yes a disco, not a club), in the wee hours, singing this with my mate at the top of our lungs. Music was everything back then. Listening to the charts, live on BBC Radio 1 on a Sunday to find out who was No1. Special times that this generation will never know. Too buried in their phones. God I miss those days!
Back then pop music was beautiful!!!! The music and the pop stars!!!!! True magic back then man!! It's all gone now unfortunately music and artists no longer look or sound like this. Just such a shame. Great era to be alive. Miss it.
I watched this as a 16 year old boy had my hair cut in the same style and wanted to be that guy on stage so badly... several decades later still feel the same even though my hair has deserted me 🤣
for a few short months of 88 I was in a sort of heaven, images and events that will never happen to me again and just a small segment of songs sum it up; this is one of them.
I remember walking in to a night club on holiday in majorca August 1988. This was playing and as I walked to the bar I must have had about about 10 snogs all done to my bros lookalike hair cut 😅😅. Ive been a secret fan ever since... Even bought the bros hair wax and everything 😅. I was a hit with girls for about 6 months. Then me mate with the curtains took over as Jason Donovan got more popular... Doh!!
I was at school with Matt & Luke at Collingwood School in Camberley i only went there for 3 months also they came on holiday with my family to Whitley Bay when we were teenagers......
Terry Stone who also went to Collingwood has just posted a new video on here interviewing Matt Goss. They talk about Collingwood and some of the teachers there.
At the time many dismissed this as manufactured pop in the pejorative accepted sense of the word. For many years now it has sounded like the excellent pop song it truly is. Great song when eighties music was at its height.
I met them in Dublin in 1988 on a tv show called megamix ......they were so forget and tall. Gas. Awwwww the exciting times of being a teenager. Makes me smile every time. Craig did the right thing leaving. He's a multi millionaire now. Big wig in music industry. Well done craig
I've never understood why these guys were never more famous than they were! They were great! People like Bruno Mars could take lessons from them, just saying.
You must be joking. Look at this video; Matt Goss cannot even mime properly! They only had two hit records (which somebody else wrote for them), yet their egos are so gargantuan, they go on like they are The Beatles or something.
I was a very gentle and spoiled boy, though very diligent in my studies. And I didn't get along with my father from whatever reason. And I was hiding different sexual orientation. And a year later he died from a heart attack (1989), a day before I was due to start an army course. So I didn't have to stand up to his requirements. And that was in a sense comfortable. Little did I know that life is not black and white. And today I know he would have accepted my mental illness, my vulnerabilty and even my sexual orientation. Maybe not immediately, but he would have.
Craig was dubbed 'Ken' by Viz magazine I think. They were always referred to as 'Matt, Luke and Ken'. So the original comment was an inside joke by a clued up 80s-a-phile :)
God I thought these lads were rubbish when I was little, I was only a wee toddler when they were big. They were good though, in that cheesy 80s pop fun way, much like Wham! :))
It didn’t help that Matt had a pretty thin vocal range and all their songs on the first album were written by their manager and producer. With Wham!, George Michael wrote and produced the songs himself from the start.

He's not really singing. But im digging the double bass set the drummer has. Toms galore! I think lip syncing was common at that time too (am i right or wrong?) All in all, this song is a bop!

I didn't realise how tall they were!! Matt goss is absolutely beautiful !
Omg great guys any brossettes round here???
Got to love the invisible man on lead guitar
Actually it is base guitar....unless you are actually referring to an invisible man.
We can see the bass guitarist. @CaptainCarling will be referring to the lead guitar riff .... but there’s no one there playing lead guitar 😃
They were miming during this take, but they are actual musicions
Woosh...
Always think he looks like John Deacon's son
Top fashion, top dancing, top live singing 👍
Steven Langridge He's miming lol.
Sarcasm....look it up.

13 yrs old when this came out...ah good times!
I've never understood why these guys were never more famous than they were! They were great! People like Bruno Mars could take lessons from them, just saying.
Randall Brooks definitely the best, and most knowledgeable comment I've ever had the pleasure to read on youtube. I wish you well my friend.
Mars has talent, but he wastes it on stupid gangsta lyrics about money and useless sex.
The media stamped on them big time and bad management of money on management side it seems 😓
Don't know about Bruno Mars he's probably the only good artist about nowadays in a world where music is absolute shite.
You must be joking. Look at this video; Matt Goss cannot even mime properly! They only had two hit records (which somebody else wrote for them), yet their egos are so gargantuan, they go on like they are The Beatles or something.

Both Luke and Craig could play. They were were all in a band together before they became Bros.
