Susan, This was a GREAT video!!! I taught for 10 years before choosing to be a stay at home mom. Now, while my kids are still little I get to teach them all of these fun learning things I did with my students. Labeling was one of my favorite beginning writing activities to teach as I could really see what students wanted to say because it did not matter what their skill level was in writing sentences. They could still tell their story. They were so empowered! (Why pictures are so important too!) Labeling also takes the pressure off of little ones to need to write the elaborate story they think we expect of them right away. It also helps them find the story they really want to tell. I could go on and on about how important labeling is for beginning writers! Haha! Anyway, I absolutely loved the label the teacher! How have I never done or seen this!!??!! So fun!!! I could see families trying this with their kids, labeling around their home, or even labeling a room that their story took place in to kind of act out the story as they are beginning to write those sentences!!! I also appreciated your references to differentiate learning as well as the importance of modeling for kids. I would love to see more fun writing videos like this from you. I love learning from others. Thank you for sharing!!! 💖
