You can hear the audio crew amping up the the guitarists' mics on the fly. Since the audio mixing is set up in advance with one specific 'envelope' for each band, changing it during the running of a show is risky, because you can end up messing up the soundstage pretty badly. They had to improvise quite a lot on that day. Also Joakim running around with sticky tape to fix the sheetmusic on the stage for the guitarists was quite cool. He gave his all even after he had to stop due to busted vocal cords.

Thank you for sharing this video. Just as they said in Lost Batallion "Chose not to surrender, they chose victory or defeat" , they choose to continue the show even when everything was against them. Everybody tried their best, Tommy is a freaking awsome singer and Chris really tried hard and nailed it, even tho he is not used to the leading vocals he has a very nice voice. I'm really proud to be fan of such amazing and humble band.

It's amazing that Tommy and Chris did not abandon the headbanging even when they had to carry the song. For example, before Price of a Mile, Chris was not stinting on the headbanging choreography. He was performing full on, and then going right into singing the song. The whole concert is amazing!
He wasnt sick He had sung the day before in their normal slot. This was them playing instead of manowar who cancled. So by the time this happened joakims voice was fucked from the day before.
I didn't think I could have any more respect for this band than I already do. But this is another fucking level. They showed everyone at Hellfest that they're better than Man o War and wouldn't cancel even though they had no lead singer. This is true metal \m/

Chris has an epic voice ! I love how they managed this problem, Tommy looked a little biz scared, and yu could see hios happiness when Joakim brought him the lyrics. i alwys wondered how Sabaton would sing with Tommy or Chris as lead voice, and now I know! Its really awesome but Joakim is still a tiny bit better. They´re all singing together is the best thing ever

Un concert complètement dingue, après un remplacement imprévu et en plus le chanteur qui se fait aussi remplacer on pourrait croire que tout ça finirait sur une catastrophe et finalement le concert se passe parfaitement bien. Interesting fact, they knew before the show that Joakim's voice wouldn't make it to the end, but they still decided to make him sing the first three songs so that the crown could understand that
What I've heard from an interview is that they were optimistic that Jocke's voice will come back for the show (as it happened before), and when it became clear that it just won't happen, they switched gears.
This reminded me back in 2006 in Lubeck when Joachim fell ill the night before the show and their merch guy stepped up for him as the lead singer! Lmao! His voice was phenomenal. You can look it up in CZcams. It's there.

They signed the contracts and knew what the deal. I hope they will loose in court and not gonna get a deal where they won’t have to pay the whole price for breaching the contract. It was not just the stage size, it had something to do with the decibel level that Manowar like to play at which was denied due to French law. I’m not going to be presumptuous and just slag Manowar off here because no one knows the true facts. What I will say is that Sabaton are true heroes and one of the reasons why they are seriously good at what they do.
I kinda want a compilation album of Sabaton songs but with Tommy singing the vocals. His voice works with Sabaton songs so well. At least Joakim knows he can rely on Tommy and Chris to give people a show if he loses his voice again.

Great professionals. On the other hand it's unique show, guitarists of Sabaton don't often sing at concerts. I somehow didn’t follow the news and didn’t know about Manovar, I’ve been waiting for the video from Hellfest.
@@ripit.3457 Yea you can find some early performances of Sabaton on yt in 2005 and 2006 where they played in the original key and you can hear Joakim struggling extensively in some cases. That's also due to Joakim not really knowing how to sing properly in the early years, he was adding a lot of voice distortion through his throat which can fuck up your voice long term. Since The Art Of War they've been playing live in a lower key, and Joakim has marginally imroved where he now sounds remarkable for a baritone. That being said, there are many better singers than him, but his voice suits the Sabaton theme perfectly. I've been to their concert and I'd really just prefer them doing all of their songs in lower key in the studio so that they don't have to lower them live. Non the less, some of their songs IMO sound better in lower key live like Ghost Division, Price of a Mile, Great War etc. Thiccness is a bonus.

Even more unbelievable that he took the risk, because in Graspop he could barely hit some notes, and didn't get out words during songs.
Not listening to your doctor in this case could actually lead to permanent damage, so I'd say he was taking a huge risk there.

Great professionals. On the other hand it's unique show, guitarists of Sabaton don't often sing at concerts. I somehow didn’t follow the news and didn’t know about Manovar, I’ve been waiting for the video from Hellfest.

Something I love about sabaton live is to make some sounds sound massive, they drop from standard to d standard is it sounds thicc

@@ripit.3457 Yea you can find some early performances of Sabaton on yt in 2005 and 2006 where they played in the original key and you can hear Joakim struggling extensively in some cases. That's also due to Joakim not really knowing how to sing properly in the early years, he was adding a lot of voice distortion through his throat which can fuck up your voice long term. Since The Art Of War they've been playing live in a lower key, and Joakim has marginally imroved where he now sounds remarkable for a baritone. That being said, there are many better singers than him, but his voice suits the Sabaton theme perfectly. I've been to their concert and I'd really just prefer them doing all of their songs in lower key in the studio so that they don't have to lower them live. Non the less, some of their songs IMO sound better in lower key live like Ghost Division, Price of a Mile, Great War etc. Thiccness is a bonus.

Mes potes eux étaient hyper heureux de les voir une deuxième fois, moi j espérais surtout qu'ils aient un meilleur son que la veille (on n'entendait le chanteur qu'une fois sur cinq). En tout cas niveau charisme les mecs ils sont vraiment bons, t'as presque envie qu'ils te mettent une claque dans le dos pour aller boire un verre ensuite !

No offense your camera didn't like the double bass in the lion from the north
The sound quality was horrible to begin with. During Lion from the North it became metal white noise.
Wish I could hear Tommy and Chris singing these songs without the constantly adjusting vocals (i understand why that is happening).
