The WD-40 Effect | Acrylic Pour Painting

- If you want to have nice cells in your pictures, just use WD 40! So that it works well, but you should note a little thing. The secret, so that not too many cells arise, the WD 40 comes only in the white color, stir well, so that many small cells arise and enjoy.
In the orange on the left and the darker blue below there are even nice net cells.
If you liked it, then I look forward as always to a nice comment or a thumbs up.
Thanks and creative greetings

Thank you for your support.
I used to spray the inside of the cup with WD-40, swirl it around to cover the inside of the cup and then turn it upside down to let it drain out. Then I added my paints...worked great for dirty pours.
I did a few enormous flip cups on plywood like this. Wild lacing and cells.
I am fascinated with this type of painting. How fun.
I love the lacing effect always my favorite ❤
Amazing and gorgeous painting 👏
Looks like this could be a fun approach to crafting! 👍
Love this 🤍 trying it today, thanks so much!
Wow. That’s amazing.
The colors and the song made me think of the beach
Hermosa pancita! Muy lindo todo. Besos a baby huertinga y Nichu. (toda una hna mayor). Cariños a los papis primerizos🤗
That looks Flippen amazing man, love it.
Wow so beautiful well done ❤
Beautiful...wow I am impressed 👍🏾
Stunning💞
Very impressive and creative!
Beautiful!!! 🥰❤❤❤❤❤
This is such a jealously guarded secret among acrylic pour artists. Thank you!
Not no mo😂
It is not. There's no such thing either. These guys are a large community putting it all out here for the love of the POUR !!! They don't keep a whole hell of a lot of 'trade secrets'. In fact, paint pouring is the new digital Haight Ashbury with paint not L. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I know, I crack myself up, huh!?! Its a big, free bunch of people all over the world. And they're not holding much back 😔😅😊😂
@@mawi1172it used to be
I would not put paint pouring and Artist in the same sentence
@@Itsadarknight that's a matter of personal preference. Generally I lump art into two groups. People who create things with artistic intention and things that evoke an emotional response in the viewer. Acrylic pour art can be both of those things, ergo art. I paint botanical water colors, but I see that there is technique and mastery in acrylic pour art. Anyone can do it, but so what?
Nice! It's something I already have in the house, too!
Beautiful Pouring ❤
Hello master ,,Tiktus,,, you produce amazingly beautiful paintings, perfect art, you are a ,,MASTER,, and ,,MR ARTIST,,, thank you very much. Your works can calm me down fantastically, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and I look forward to more beautiful works of art.
I have just one question please, please dilute the colors with water and add something else to the color so that the final effect is such a beautiful shiny picture??? Thank you master, of course I LIKE!...
Great idea!!! TFS! Austin TX USA

omg that's great
So Cool
Yo, that’s beautiful brother, that looks awesome, kudos to you man.
I’m going to try that..
Apparently paint varnish can be used as well. They turn out well but there are smaller and more regular cells. If the paint is thick, you can drag the pain across the canvas and the cells will start to form.
Was looking for something different for my kitchen cupboards..found it.. thanks
Nice bass tone.
Super
I imagine this would look cool using fluorescent black light paint.
Looks like a NASA image, and how perfect those circle are. How did you get three cups of paint into two?
So ive always wondered....can you use any oil? Like olive/vegetable oil??
The last year or so ive been watching your vids, and others using similar techniques ,and i always wondered if WD40 would do the same as silicone oil.. i have no clue where to buy that, or flotrol, but thanks to you, i know this will work! thank you!!!!
supermarket, auto parts store! 🇧🇷
Floetrol at a hardware store or home depot. Silicone oil at the dollar store or Micheal's crafts store or a sports store but more expensive there.
I bought silicone WD40 at walmart. Didn't know regular wd40 would have worked lol. Silicone wd40 was like $8
There's always Amazon!
How to top coat them after using oils or similar tho?
"stir nicely"
You should stir everything nicely 😀
Do you use a special dryer..or regular..no heat ,cool,or hot
What is the name of the orange paint? It is so pretty, like California poppies!
what size canvas did you use?
Wondering if this would work on a round surface.....glass light globe?
I would think any oil would work, because it's the interaction between the water-based paint and the oil that makes the cells. But I'm wondering if it will affect the resin finish and it's ability to stick to the painting, and whether it affects how long the paintings stay nice. Does anybody know?
Yes. So firstly, silicone and silicone based oil is the only oil you should use. Things like cooking oils dont work so well. And the reason to use only a little is because of the residue when the paint dries. The silicone oil sits on top of the painting. If COMPLETELY dry, a dry paper towel first, followed by a LIGHTLY misted-in-isopropyl alcohol paper towel will remove the residue. Be sure to carefully rub the oil off and not destroy the paint. Then, any gloss latex, acrylic, or epoxy resin finish can be applied without issue.
To clarify, some people have also used coconut milk hair serums. But one of the top ingredients is silicone oil. I have always used very cheap, generic silicone lubricant sprays and i take the spray nozzle off so its just the plastic pipe and i can control drops.
@@cyndilouwho Thanks! :)
Beautiful, what brand of acrylic paint did you use?
@@paultucker3789 i typically use cheaper, craft paint like Apple Barrel & Folk Art but recently have switched to Arteza. They are much better quality. No matter the quality, the importance really is in 1) consistency over everything. You're looking for a runny pancake batter. And 2) color choices and color coordination
Bonjour, une question ...
Pourquoi du w40 ?
Cela apporye quoi ? Plus pluide, plus de brillant , sechage + rapide ????
En comparaison de sans le w40....🤔
How long does this take to dry & can it be incorporated on other surfaces other than canvas?
Yes!!
Hi, is there any protection for acrylic paints, I would like to paint rubber fish with an airbrush, those fish will go into the water, so I need some silicone that mixes with acrylic paints and is sticky, which would stick to the rubber fish when I'm painting, any answer would be great, thanks
Nice video but do I have to be nice when I stir?
Is this just acrylic paint or did you thin it with something?
T h anks for showi ng this its quite interesting
What are you using to burst bubbles? Is it just compressed air? Fun video 😊 Thank you.
Appears to be a small handheld (refillable) butane torch. Used for small (wire)soldering jobs, shrinking heat-shrink tubing over electrical splices, etc.🔥👍✔️⚡
and for torching creme brulee! @@tdotw77
... That's yet another use for WD-40
Very cool. Silicone is expensive.
Only for the boobs ! ☝😁
I use dollar general's generic brand of silicone garage-door lubricant, usually in the car aisle. For like $3. And only using a drop to a few drops at a time, it lasts forever.
Looks like an octopus nice
You can use mineral spirits or even turpentine for the same effect.
Now is this the WD40 with the silicone in it or the regular WD40?
Technically known as a Paint Pour it is AKA the Double Dump. 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
AMAZING THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME
How’d you get the gloss finish?
What do you use as a spinning table? I want to try this but have no idea where to start..
Look up lazy susan.
or cake icing turntable. I've put mine inside a small round kiddie's plastic paddle pool to *try* and contain what flings off!!@@James-ux5kv

Was the paint thinned with water? And if so what are the ratios?
Can someone please answer this question 😅
40g paint Amsterdam brand is one of the best, 40g distilled water, 40g Amsterdam pouring medium. Use a gram scale to weigh for best results.
does this dry
Did you mix the paint first with water ?
This was great! What do you use to clean the WD-40 off the canvas after its dry?
Will there be WD-40 left on it after it dries?
Yes it will come to the surface. Remove with alcohol on soft cloth being careful to work quickly as not to remove any of the paint
I think you might want to say: Stir Well. Stir Nicely is stirring gently and to not hurt the feelings of the white paint.
😅
I love your work and your videos. I’m an English teacher and want to give people options by teaching them.
try this sharon looks easier ❤
@dogginbebe3511 My friend, I'm not sure if you are aware of this but lemme fill you in on a little secret....art is art....regardless if it's lazy or energetic, colorful or black and white, big or small, glossy or matte, expensive or inexpensive or whether it took 5 minutes or 5 months.... it's all art... everything is art if you think about it....its personal sentimental value or it's monetary value applies to only the artist and the consumer....you may think it's cheap and lazy, but to someone else, that same piece of art, someone could have bid $1.5 million at an auction simply because they love art. Obviously you aren't truly an aesthetic individual....
What’s this music? I like it!
But does it ever dry?? If so how long?
To seal it u just pour the resin after a day ?
Resin after letting is dry completely for 2-3 weeks. Surface dry in a few days but still water underneath

Great idea.
Better picasso. Nice.
Are you just putting the WD-40 in the white paint?
Was any pouring medium used?
Idk about this one but I used flotrol with my paint pouring and silicon for cells but honestly you don't even need it to make cells!
@@niknightngaleeDo you need a blow torch to get the cells?
You need heat. A heat gun would eliminate the danger from a torch and work just as well.@@rach8241
This video deserves a lot of likes ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I also try to shoot cool culinary masterpieces 🎂
I like the way this turned out. But, the last time I looked WD40 had petroleum in it that is flammable. I would have used a heat gun instead.
I love when gravity does the work 🍎
Wait I'm spinning too
He especify only to the white color few splash good to know. Follow instructionshehe meanwhile I remembered if I have work on this video or not. Hehe
What does the WD40 do?
What’s the music?
What do you use to burst the air bubbles?🤔🤔
Small hand torch.
@@royalriverart Is it like a hair-dryer? I'm writing from Argentina. Thanks!🙋🏼♀️
No it’s like a lighter. Crème brûlée kind of torch.
@@royalriverart ah, ok! Thank you
Of course, I hope that helps.
Silicone does the same thing but better in my opinion.
How long does this take to dry, in comparison to without WD-40?
Not answering for Tiktus, but for me, it always depends on how thick the paint was when stretched, and the temperature. I live in a high climate, mostly dry heat all the time. But we get some muggy, cold days so my pours usually take 30-48 hrs to dry. Havent seen much difference using silicone oil, except when i used too much and the painting wasnt well done anyway. Definitely only use 1-3 drops or 1-3 short spray bursts when using any silicone oils/lubricants
When you mix different things in life, unexpected happened.
WD-40 是什么材料
Se ritorna Tintoretto se mette a ride
Neat, but only interesting for one minute.
Eigentlich enthält WD-40 kein Silikon. Wirkt aber scheinbar wie Silikonöl.
А с колером прокатит
I tried this a few months ago and was disappointed it didn't work... Then noticed on the can it was silicone free!! 🤦
Glad you mentioned that! Thanks!
