The Volvo 200 Series (or 240 and 260 Series) is a range of mid-size cars produced by Volvo Cars from 1974 until 1993, with more than 2.8 million total units sold worldwide. Like the Volvo 140 Series (1966 to 1974), from which it was developed, it was designed by Jan Wilsgaard.
The series overlapped production of the Volvo 700 Series (1982 to 1992). As the 240 Series remained popular, only the 260 Series was displaced by the 700 Series, which Volvo marketed alongside the 240 for another decade. The 700 was replaced by the 900 Series in 1992, a year before the 240 was discontinued. Production of the 240 ended on 14 May 1993, after nearly 20 years.

Lovely old gem, but why put it through a car wash ,those brushes far to harsh

nice car...I had same one 80.2.3 4gears,and some vans and sedans, petrolej and diesel. 6 years ago I thrown away 5 volvos , 5 days ago I thrown drive train from 244 dl 82. I have plenty of spare parts for 244 , if someone is interested, Zagreb,Croatia
a brush type car wash is the best way to damage a paint by the friction of the brushes and by the parts that the brushes have been torn off other cars, and that are left stuck in the bristles.
Shame it's an auto and the carb needs some love it seems. Really nice car otherwise :)
Older Volvo 240s are more classic looking than later 240s of 80s and early 90s

There is not so many of these cars left in Sweden...specally with automatic as sweds was frightend about as taken much more fuel snd did crash more often than a 4-speed/5speed .
