Please never stop making these mail-in videos.
I don't know if uploading this video was a mistake on your part 😅 but blessed to see the great works in form of 2 videos sir❤
2 videos in one day???? We are blessed.
Both Matt and Yehia exemplify photographers like the rest of us who do not have the luxury of tightly assignments or projects. We have a few days here and there to capture what interests us and that'll often be somewhat random. It think that's why street is tempting, because it's all random and its the randomness that ties it together. But submit images of buildings and people or detail shots, and all of a sudden here comes the suggestion to pick one, not all.
Oh well.
Fabulous work from photographers in the last 2 videos well done
Love how you inspire people to take the next step ✨👌🏼
Margo and Arnys book looks fantastic. I’m going to have find a way to buy one of those
I’m just setting up my first photography website to show and sell my prints. The book reviews you’re doing today inspire me to try my hand at zines or a book…thank you ❤. Next time you’re in Calgary I’ll try catch you at my favourite the camera store
Ted it was so great meeting you in person and deeply appreciative that you time to review my book. I love your comments and I have been thinking about how to get more conceptual with my content.
Still in love with this series! (Hope the successor will keep this level of inspiring projects :))
Inspiring ❤❤❤ Can’t wait to start my own film series this year 😊
Good post. Thank you. Some interesting stuff in these examples.
Thanks for another excellent video! I’m inspired to create my first zine after having owned a Fujifilm X100V for a year now! 📷😀
I love these showcase episodes. One of them inspired me to create my own magazine. I didn't make a photography magazine, but a family magazine that I then sent out to our kids who have all moved away. It was a sort of Time Machine magazine for them, with old photos and some new ones, but it had a comedic and nostalgic approach. I may also make a strictly photo mag in the future. It surprised me how inexpensive it was to have some magazines printed and shipped. I used Affinity Publisher to complete the task, but this channel was the catalyst that got me going so thanks for the great content!
Would love to see an example of your work with the comedic and nostalgic approach. It will be great for the grown up kids. Thank you for the inspiration.
Great stuff Ted, as usual.
Excellent video. Inspirational
10:40 I just bought “Found, Not Lost”. Other than dates and locations on the back page there isn’t 1 word written about any of the photos. Everything you need to know is contained in the frame.
Excellent reviews...
Thanks Ted.
Man I love these reviews and the discussion you give around the work. You are critical and kind, and always prompting for the next course. A true teacher.
I enjoy your channel but I don't watch religiously...but I *always* watch these. I know you've talked about not doing these anymore, but I beg you to reconsider. If you spun off a separate channel just devoted to this, I'd watch it religiously. Thanks Ted, and I hope to send you a zine myself some day :)
Hey Ted, been following you for years. Did you ever make a video on how to make a zine? Specifically, which services you recommend, etc.? Maybe I missed it if you have, but would seem to fit in perfectly with the mail time videos.
Keep up the great work 😊

Great
I don’t watch all of your vids but thought you were stopping the book mail/reviews thing as said in one of your vids. Was wondering, you mention about one book with no note in it & one seem to have some type of forward in it. When making one of these types of project books, should there be a forward in them? Thanks for any replies.
I think including a foreward is completely up to the bookmaker, and may depend on the project. The foreward can be a place to include more information about the idea/concept behind the book -- gives you a place for more text so that the images can stand alone on the pages that follow.
Really loved the video! I have been making online zines for a while now but I am looking forward to publish a printed zine soon. Loved Matt's print(any chance of a hint where dis he published it or what servixe he used?)
Not sure of the service @stefanpanaitescu7413 -- the book doesn't indicate this. You might check out Matt's website for more info and even reach out to him! www.mattpalmer.ca/Finding-a-Place-The-Books
@@theartofphotography thank you soo much! I contacted matt through instagram! And rewatched your video! Many thanks!
Sadly, Arnie of the New Orleans book, just died about 2 weeks ago. I'll let Margo know that their book has been reviewed. Thank you!
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that! I'll see if I can contact Margo as well. Thank you for letting me know.
