      Oohh, good question!! I'm a little stumped I guess Mart! - I'll have to pick something that is rising well whenever we get clear skies again :) maybe the tulip, or the veil if it takes a while to clear!
      Thank you for watching mate! :)

      Hey there bud! - I deffo know what you mean about looking at certain parts for ages, it's mesmerizing to see and think about that kind of thing, 100%! :)
      I was really unsure as to if I should make the video longer or shorter, I often worry I'm taking up too much of people's time and so want to keep them shorter - maybe I need to do a poll to ask around :D thanks for the idea!
      Much appreciate you watching mate,

    Great picture indeed. Upload with processing workflow would be nice addition!
    Also curios about the reason to take flats ahead of the session (I think seen same order in other videos)?. Instict tells you may only add dust to you imaging train overnight, so taking flats at the end ensures you have most "up-to-date" version of imperfections.

      Hey there MrWacha! :)
      I'll look into a processing workflow video, thank you for the suggestion! :)
      Re: flats, I tend to just do it early out of habit! - I do keep my optical path as clean as possible though in general, and I usually have no problem using the same flats for lots of sessions until I change filters :)
      Thank you so much for watching! 👍

      @@lukomatico I'll use the same flats for weeks. Tiny bits of dust don't seem to affect the image, even on my sct. If a new spot appear the subs/stacked image.. that's when I get a fresh set of flats.

    Hi luke great video I have a celestron avx mount and 80mm Skywatcher esprit and zwoasi533mc Pro upgrading to the 120 esprit and eq6 r Pro mount with the same colour camera as yours and using my avx mount and smaller wide field scope with zwo wifi as well as a second scope setup in the field setup leaving the 120 in the garden.What bracket and length did you use to mount your Skywatcher 120 scope on your eq6-r Pro mount an what make did you use and did you have any problems with balancing it.

    • @lukomatico
      @lukomatico  Před 2 lety

      Hey matey! - That's a lovely setup you have there :-)
      Regarding dovetail, i am using a 19" losmandy dovetail on my Esprit 120, and clamping it with an ADM dual clamp on the EQ6 :-)
      My scope came with the big dovetail, if it just had the standard one I'd have used that instead though, no problem! don't feel like you have to upgrade the regular one mate!
      I hope that helps!
      All the best,
      Luke

    10-minute exposures seems extremely long...the rejection rate would be a major concern for me (also UK) with passing clouds and satellite trailing. Is that due to the Optolong extreme? I'm using the enhance and find that 5 minutes is more than enough on an almost identical setup?

    • @lukomatico
      @lukomatico  Před 3 lety

      Hey Steve! - I had the exact same concern initially mate! - in my experience though, it's really not been that bad! :) I always stack my all frames that have satellite trails etc and sigma clipping just gets rid of the trails by detecting and rejecting the outlier pixel values on those frames vs the rest of the stack - cloud is another case, but generally I just skim through my subframes and delete any with cloud interference present :) - I do find the longer subs give smoother end results, there's not a massive difference by any means but still a noticeable one in my (admittedly limited) testing :-)
      Thank you very much indeed mate for watching and sharing your thoughts! I massively appreciate your time!
      All the best, and clear skies!
      Luke
