I love that game! Played it all the time on the gc with my bro. I would die for a switch remaster or so, it's one of those things that is not going to happen...
I just picked this up at GameStop for like $20. I thought it was a great game, for what it is. It's not easy to find couch co-op games these days & fps games on the Switch especially. Rico is a fun game to have in your collection. It's a game you can throw in & play a quick game, play a co-op game, or just zone out and play through a 'case'. I have a smaller collection of Switch games (just over 100) and I find myself putting this one in my rotation fairly often. It's not for everyone but I really think it's worth the money.
Gonna make a strange comparison, I think it might be the Tetris or Dr. Mario of shooters, in the sense that it would be great for a short while; short bursts. Then take a lengthy break, then when you need that FPS fix, bring up this game, then rinse and repeat. I might save up because the random elements seem fun.
playing this on single player and i just can't seem to finish the defuse bomb on the 2nd to the last mission before the boss. Too many locked doors and enemies with so little time. It is definitely made for co-op players.
Okay...so I just bought it for $20 bucks. I am getting ready to jump into a game right now (my first) and something caught my eye. Just before you enter a mission under the Case tab in single player you have to ready up. I have one gun available to me currently and it is called an SA.40. Now in reality this is a .40 caliber handgun....I own an actual SW.40 and sometimes I carry it as my CCW (Conceal and Carry) although generally I prefer the .45 caliber as it is just a far superior round (mire powerful, flies slower, is a subsonic round, less extra penetration, will not bounce off of windshields like the .38 and 9mm tend to do). Now for those of you not initiated into the world of firearms or get all of your firearm knowledge from video games a SW.40 is not a 9mm or 9x19mm (Russian 9x18 Makarov Russian 9mm). Okay with that out of the way, in the description of the SA.40 it talks about the reliability of a 9mm...I mean how stupid...I give them points for calling a magazine a magazine at least (the word clip should not be used unless you are talking about an un-modified Chinese SKS or an M1 Garand as they use stripper clips and where the actual term came from). I just wish for once gaming devs would get it right. Most of the time these games are made by leftists that are against "guns" without having the slightest clue as to how they actually work. Case in point calling an SA.40 a 9mm. If I was making a racing game like Forza (great series) and I started calling all Ford Taurus's Camaro's and responding it's the same thing, car enthusiasts would want it corrected and for me to do my actual research for a commercial product. Actually..GM guys might try to run me down with their Camaro's...even now (it was a joke guys, I have a 2012 SS Camaro and a 2002 Firehawk Trans-Am don't kill me). Rant over now I will go play...;)

jay prince Rico isn’t really a game you beat once. One case session can take about an hour. Maybe less, maybe more. The action is fun and I like how you have the exp rewards in the background. Not perfect but a fun title Edited: for spelling errors lol
I agree with joe. I'm into games that aren't AAA and I've played some pretty shitty games (onenchenbara on Wii and 360) this doesn't look like a shitty game. Granted it's not an amazing game, but for it is, it looks good. That's why I'm gonna buy it tomorroe
i myself look for games that have good replay value. any opinions on this title? i’m really thinking about getting it for the switch. it reminds me of an old school game i had for the PS2 called Thirteen.
Its a mess of a game I bought despite bad reviews but if you have patience to get past the somewhat steep learning curve there's fun to be had in blood wave. Aiming and controls are one of my biggest complaints. It's very challenging to start out with and a bit glitched. Doesn't give me the satisfaction of other shooters but nice for a quick pick up and play session.
The cheap fake player characters need to be thrown out for fully customizable player characters. Split-screen NEEDS to use another profile on the console for P2 to maintain that players stuff and custom character. ALL of the maps need to be... Well... More. Houses? Need the street it's on and the yard... Offices and apartments need the street and lower floors. It needs more structure. I love R6V2 and want it on Switch but that will never happen... So the RICO devs need to overhaul the game for free. Let me customize my character, let me choose to either be a heavy tank or light squishy. Let me choose my armor! Make the armor actually WORTH repairing! Give us more map variety. Other than that? The insane sale price made it totally worth it. I got not only a Switch OLED for Christmas but THREE games... So I'm pretty content. I just wish Spotify was on Switch with the capability to play music WHILE playing. Anyone remember how the old Xbox 360 and PS3 had the ability to put CDs ON the console... And to play the music WHILE playing games? Those were the days... NINTENDO! SPOTIFY ON SWITCH! PLAY MUSIC WHILE PLAYING GAMES! MAKE IT HAPPEN! Okay, ranting rave over.
It just looks plain and boring, you shoot cardboard cutouts and activate the objective by pressing a button. I didn't buy it, if they somehow fix the game, I'll consider it.
You say the shooting mechanics look solid...no actually they don't. First and foremost, you can always tell when someone makes a game that revolves around firearms but without the slightest bit of real understanding of how firearms actually work. They interchange the word "clip" which does not belong in this game unless they allow you to shoot an unmodified SKS or M1 Garand...otherwise these weapons are using magazines. Technically a revolvers cylinder is considered a magazine althoughwe generally just call it a cylinder. Second, they further show their lack of basic knowledge wiyj firearms when it comes to sound dampening a weapon. They call them silencers...which is pure Hollywood stupidity. The proper term for them is supressor and they require specialized ammunition to actually work properly (subsonic ammo). If you attach a supressor to a firearm loaded with standard brass while firing it...the enemy would likely know right where you are. Lastly, watch the video sections where the reviewer is using a handgun and pay close attention to the weapon in particular. Do any of you see a problem? Either he has a 3 round magazine or the weapon keeps jamming after 3 rounds. I say this as the player drops a new magazine into the weapon the character automatically cycles the weapon...which would waste a bullet every time he reloads. One would typically want to avoid this in an actual firefight as every bullet counts. All in all, an excellent review of a mediocre game with sloppy firearm mechanics. My critique was in no way aimed at the reviewer. It was pointed squarely at the devs who clearly need to study simple firearm basics before making another fps...a game where you stare at a gun for hours on end.
@@Yungkingzmusic I wasted my time informing people...no, you waste everyone's time not adding anything to the conversation. See, see how that works? I mean I type 65 words a minute...so yeah, comprehend that.

One, I don’t like randomly generated dungeons/levels in any games of any kind. Two, the lack of story is highly disappointing. Three, games like this seems like even an idiot could program it and call it a game. Four, the score was too generous for a half baked low budget game. And Five, this game was way too hyped when it was first revealed.
