A mix, of rugby, soccer, American football, boxing, MMA and Greco Roman wrestling, CALCIO STORICO FIORENTINO is by for the most exciting sporting event I have ever witnessed live.
Calcio Storico is a game that has been played in Firenze, Italia for centuries. Four teams; ROSSI, BIANCHI, AZZURI e VERDI (RED, WHITE, BLUE and GREEN), representing different historical neighborhoods in the city; punch, kick, run and scrape their way toward victory in a round robin tournament.

It would be a shame for such a long-standing and honorable tradition to be exploited. Any American smart enough and ambitious enough to think this is something they should look into would quickly see that the city of Fiorentina, her people, and the men competing for the pride of their neighborhoods ARE the sport and the sport is them.
