I like this discount thing you’re doing. Most people only show the name brand stuff

I just ordered a blade today that should arrive on the 10th. It might be a better pick. I plan to hard use test it the same day it arrives. So stand by I might have a better budget blade coming

I run a Kershaw Camp 10 with a Gerber Prodigy piggyback. Crossdraw sheath.

I convexed the edge also removed the coating from the primary grind. Then I ground down the guard plus the pummel point and it's a great bushcraft knife now.
The Prodigy is one if my favorite knives of all time and I have some way expensive "bushcraft" knives in my collection. I honestly think if given a choice I'd struggle with taking it or my Tops Brakimo in a shtf situation .....Heck I'd take both LOL

It is a good knife. And affordable as well.

@Robertssurvivalsystems Plus they keep um made here in the USA 🇺🇸
I'm not super picky about that BUT it does matter esp the 420hc heat treatment. Ya might get a wonky edge from Gerber shop in Oregon but atleast I know the steel is good. I can fix a crappy edge bit ya can't fix crappy steel. 😉

I shoulda got one when they were about $30 at walmart , but I thought it would probably break if I threw it to much, didnt realize it is an approved carrey knife for combat infantry

To be fair, throwing a knife always has a risk ro it. But check out the eafengrow vids I did. It is $10 less then the Prodigy, and I did take the handles off, it has no cut outs.

My Walmart stop carrying the Prodigy . I think Gerber discontued it . Walmart sales a Gerber , made in China , same knife as the Bear Grills Gerber , they also have the Seal Pup , another China made blade . My opinion , buying chinesium is like buying a pig in a poke . 👍

I understand your point. It is very hard to get away from items made overseas. I have ordered a knife that will arrive on the 10th, It is as made 8n China but affordable and might be worth owning. So there might be a another option for those that can not get a the blade I reviewed. I plan on doing a hard use test to find out.

Gerber Prodigy and Gerber Strongarm are both produced in Portland, OR using American 420 steel.
