I did my very first craft shows this year, the first one I sold 8 hats and a stuffed dog toy I made, but my second show was an evening outdoor market and I sold a lot of crochet hats, mittens and socks . Also mittens that I made from wool sweaters. I made over $400, now I’m getting ready for next year!🧶
I go to renaissance festivals a lot and have been incorporating more crochet into my outfits. Recently, this has included a pouch to carry small projects to work on while waiting for a show or people watching. I even have a pic of me in my garb crocheting on my business card ❤
Craziest place I’ve ever crocheted: in standstill traffic on a Wednesday night after church😂 got SO MUCH done! Since I’m a full time grad student, I think I’ll program in study breaks as crochet time. Also thank you for the advice on what’s best to focus on for markets. I’m an amigurumi maker and there’s so many good patterns out there… but they require SO MUCH SEWING which takes up a lot of time for me. So being intentional about patterns that are no sew are on my to do list this year. Also your advice from another video about bulk making I think will be super helpful as well.
I've crocheted while watching my girls cheer at football games! If the weather permitted anyways🤣🤣 I always crochet in the school pick up line waiting to pick up my girls from school. In the parking lot at the dance studio while waiting an hour. In the doctor's office waiting room if I make it there early lolol Literally I crochet any and everywhere. Also, I'm usually not able to ride passenger in the car bc I get terrible motion sickness, but I hadn't tried riding passenger while crocheting so I gave it a go and I didn't get nauseous! I thought that was weird but way cool! At one point I put my crochet down and was scrolling for a min and I instantly felt the nausea coming on. I set my phone down and grabbed my crochet and felt better within a couple minutes. SO WEIRD but I'm not mad at it! I get so tired of driving all the time and now I have a way to ride passenger princess! 😆
I don’t have many crazy crochet experiences, but probably my most exciting (if you can even call it exciting) is crocheting after my school standardized testing. I have also received orders from classmates because they saw me crocheting! 😂
I crochet at long red lights while I’m Door Dashing. I was especially so glad I had my crochet along while delivering a dash when I got stopped recently at a very long wait for a train passing.
The funnest place I have crochet was at the gym😂 after we finish our workout my boyfriend likes to shoot around a basketball so I sit on the bleachers and crochet 😂 I have also crocheted at a boxing watch party
I crocheted through zoom orientation at my job! And sometimes in the drive thru at the bank/pharmacy/fast food. I also ride passenger princess a lot because driving hurts my bad knee, so i get a lot done when we go places!
I am also a passenger princess. My husband, Titus, also prefers to drive which is so convenient for me! I have my crochet bag I take everywhere and Titus just expects it at this point 🤣
I crochet octopus bodies in the bus to work and finish them at home. It is a very short drive but after a few weeks I could a least do 2!. That is 4 half octos every workday😊
I get a lot done while my kids are doing their sports - gymnastics and taekwondo. I wish I could be a passenger princess but I get SO carsick if I try.

I've taken project bags to christmas before and crochet last min Christmas presents before lol. Like when my mom brought her nursing home patient I made him a beanie, I'm good at last min present's.
I always take my yarn on trips home. It keeps my eyes off the road while my husband drives. It's a win/win. I get more time to make and it stops me from passenger driving...lol
I also bring my crochet projects everywhere! I arrived at a concert HOURS early so that I could be in the front row, and I crocheted a few items. My husband does lightsaber sparring, and I crocheted a lot during his 2 day tournament. Crocheting on an airplane is the best way to pass time, and also while waiting for dentist/doctor appointments since having something to do with my hands makes me less anxious! When I was in college, I would also crochet during lectures (covid made that a lot easier when classes switched to all online)
I love this haha you're like my soul sister! my friends just got me the same yarn bag in lavender because I was always lugging huge bags of projects for orders, I'm a homeschool mom, so I crochet while I teach and while my husband drives lol.

I'm waiting on my wool and needles (2 days) so I can start my very first temperature blanket, when it arrives I'll find a bag to keep it in so I can grab it up and take it with me on a moment notice, so it will be my grab bag for those quick pockets of time or going to visit family

My question is, whenever you’re squeezing every spare moment to crochet, does it stress you out sometimes? Like you can’t just turn off? Like a machine? Don’t get me wrong, crochet is my passion, but recently I’ve realized I’ve linked my worth with how much I can accomplish or how productive I can be, and sometimes that’s draining when I don’t love up to that. How do you get around that?

How do you crochet in a movie theatre?
Usually only works if I have a repetitive stitch that I am familiar with or during bright scenes. It's not foolproof, but it's better than nothing 😊
