Y'all are the hardest working couple on CZcams, always so awesome to see your daily videos, they're therapeutic!
Love these beautiful little ones. Already have the raspberry one planted in my bee garden. Just got 2 weeks ago. Thanks for keeping us up to date on all the new plants. Love your channel!
Good morning Jim and Steph! These ‘lil butterfly bushes look fantastic - why not add some of these fun cuties to the garden?? 😊 I’ll definitely keep my eye out for these, the hot pink one is my favorite too
This is a great episode. I found these at my local nursery yesterday, but wasn't sure about them. Will definitely give them a try now 😄
Thank you Jim and Stephany. 🌷💚🙃
Hi Jim, as a butterfly enthusiast and gardener, I've always planted buddleias in my garden. Now, I have some in pots on my patio. One day I looked up and there was one giant yellow swallowtail 'hanging ten' from a pink blossom. Breathtaking! Thanks for showing these new cultivars. Seems they would 🦋🦋🦋be a good choice for pots too.
Just going at lunch to look for more butterfly bushes. These colors were my hope. Yay! Thank you Jim ( as always)
It’s nice that plant breeders have developed butterfly bushes that can be used in small gardens.
I ordered a couple that they were sold out of. They sent and email letting me know and shipped Coconut and Grape instead. I like them too. lol I mentioned I ordered them because of Jim Putman and she said they love Jim and that's probably why they were sold out of a couple. PS got them in the day before we got a storm with hail. No problem they seemed to like it! lol
Butterfly bushes are considered a noxious weed in Washington state where I garden. Are these lovely candy varieties sterile? What are alternatives that could be used instead to attract pollinators?
These look great, look forward to seeing this area of your garden through the season.
How fun! I do have a couple of Pugsters but I really like the form and color of these. I agree, that raspberry is striking!
Thank you for speeding up the video. Those butterfly bushes are beautiful.
Thanks for sharing. Just planted one of these yesterday. Can’t wait to see how it looks and performs.
These have been on my list since I saw them in your unboxing video. I hope I can find some this year.
I LOVE THEM! 😍 Thank you for sharing.
You've convinced me I need one or two of these😊
I can’t wait to get my hands on them! Beautiful!!!!!
Perfect timing! I just got one of these from Lowe’s. I might go back for more.
Agreed, Raspberry is stunning!
I’ve got a ‘Kaleidoscope’ butterfly bush, which simultaneously exhibits multiple colors, including pink, lavender, dark purple, peach, etc.
How's yours doing? Mine has grown at a fast rate. I've noticed it wilts in the sun, though. Thought that was weird as it listed as a full sun plant. Once the sun passes, it perks back up nicely. The high temperatures have been lower 80s F. At 1st I thought to water it more, but I see quite a few yellow leaves.
@@clovertx901 Mine is doing fairly well. I planted it about 2 years ago in NC, zone 8A, and it bloomed some the first year, but last year not as much. I mulched the bed where it’s located with wood chips near the end of 2022, and it along with other shrubs in that bed are looking great this year. My butterfly bush has not shown any signs of wilting (yet) this year, even though we have experienced warmer than normal temperatures in the 80s. I think the mulch is at least partially helping keep the soil temperature on an even keel. Also, I have not really pruned the bush back much - just tip pruning, since I believe it’s a dwarf variety. I’m noticing a little height growth on mine this year, and am excited for when it begins to bloom.
Really enjoy your channel! When I saw you unpack the candy butterfly bushes I immediately went online and found them online and purchased three of the lil grape. They are doing really well and I thank you for sharing your information. I am learning a lot by watching your videos. Thank you very much.
Hi Jim what awonderful colors of butterfly bush and candy .l love all these colors and they will amazing in your garden so beautiful . Have anice day .
They are so beautiful! I bought a butterfly bush over a year agoi and kept it in a pot for one season before finding the spot in my garden. Waiting to see how it does in the low AZ desert zone 9b. Would love one section of my garden to be filled with them. Will keep a lookout for them!
I enjoyed your fancy footwork after you put them in ground
These are perfect!!! I would love one.
How cool! We live south of Raleigh. We have a butterfly bush, but only now starting to learn how to take proper care of it. The dwarfs are pretty cool. Might look into some.
So pretty!😍
❤❤❤so I love have to find some the raspberry and the purple!
Was looking for something for a spot in my garden. Zone 5 thanks for showing
Love these! ❤
Great place to put them.
You'll have plenty of pollinators being close to your vege garden.
I've only got a very small cutting of the tree variety.
In my country New Zealand, they consider them a pest plant and have developed a weevil to kill them!
Isn't that just awful.
They're not a pest plant as I've only seen one other in my city.....a white one.
I love the raspberry variety.
Just divine, and the monarch butterflies love them too.
I'm determine to grow another tree next spring.
I think mine died due to the devastating cyclone we had during summer and the roots just gave up.
Cheers, Jo😊
The flower size on these seems to be more appropriate for the size of the plant as compared to the 'Pugster" series.
Gorgeous
The color on these buddleia looks more appealing than that PW brand so many CZcams gardeners are always peddling. I'll def have to BOLO for these !
I’m excited to try Lil Raspberry! Ordered from Plantsbymail & shipping cost was much less than expected.
So pretty! I can think of a spot where I could use a couple. I looked it up on the website and it only showed Lowes has them. I was just in there a couple days and they don’t have them yet so I will be on the lookout. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful ❤
Oh no, those are cute. I mean, I already have 7 non-dwarf butterfly bushes, so I probably shouldn't get the small ones. I totally shouldn't. But I probably will snag at least one. 😄
They look much nicer than pugster - never been a fan of pugster. Now to try and find one. 😁
Bought the Lil’ Grape from Plants by Mail. How often are you watering your newly planted bushes? Was so pleased with my purchases from Plants by Mail. Also purchased three white wedding hydrangeas and two shining sensation weigelas. All came in great shape!
I’ll be following this one! While I like the idea of the butterfly bushes, we had a large scraggly one in our backyard that I wasn’t fond of. Dwarf however, might make a nice splash along our entryway.🤔
If you trim it down, it should come back covered in blooms. You just have to wait until its warm enough in your climate's spring, or else they can die.
Awesome! Thanks for this:_🙌
Oh how I envy your just digging into the soil! I get how you have improved for the clay, and also that it still exists a few inches down--mine is the same. But my biggest problem is tree roots! Anything to advise for that? I have about six OLD willow oaks...It seems as though there is not a single place that doesn't have tree roots.
Jim,
Did ya'all do a video on setting up the beehive? Hope so--would love to see it! 😊
😍oooooh! I want one of each too!
I love these, especially the lil raspberry! BUT nobody has them in stock. Where can we get one? or two or three, LOL
Love Butterfly bushes. I have all new gardens going/being developed and this is the only perennial I have that the darn Japanese Beetles will attack, otherwise I would plant more of them....
Just ordered the grape and raspberry from Plants By Mail. Received the Sterling Moon begonia today. Can you show how to plant the begonia? Mine has a pretty big rhizome and I don't want to plant it too deep.
Thanks for making this video. Where did you buy the dwarf butterfly bush variety? I can’t find it NC.
Do butterflies like these the same? Or is there certain ones they like more?
I have a butterfly bush shrub and the whole shrub dried out , main woods stem is brown with no green so I cut it back to the ground . Will it grow back this season ? I planted it last fall and I live in zone 5b
Why are my blacknight butterfly bushes flowers only about 4 or 5 inches. In zone 7.
I want a White one !!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Hey Jim, where'd you get these? We're in Raleigh.
Did you plant them close together?
Can they also be planted in late June?
Where did you order them
where did you buy these from? I don't have a dealer close to me.
Dwarf Buddleia! I know just where to put them.
What about yellow canary
What is the correct botanical name for these plants?
Do you know if these are sterile?
👍
WHERE CAN YOU BUY THESE PLEASE
I haven’t seen these anywhere
🙋
Umm candy 😎👌
I'm looking for something to replace the Lipstick Salvia in my huge container. It bit the dust over the winter. It was 5-6 years old & I'll really miss it. Will these be as good for the hummingbirds? They're habituated to that spot!
Yes, they are on mine all summer. But why not a new Salvia too.
I saw them at HD.
Do you have a follow-up video of how they did?
It was just a few weeks ago when they went in. They will definitely be in my tour videos in the next few weeks
Are these “deer-resistant”? if that’s a real thing.
4:43. Did you not like one of them?
Fire bush trees
Please please show me the fire bush tree
Why are you able to plant 5 plants and tell us all about them in 6 minutes and it takes everybody else 25 minutes?
Please don’t encourage the planting of butterfly bushes. They are considered invasive.
