  • If your 7.3 Powerstroke takes extra time to start up in the morning, you could be dealing with a leakdown through the LPOP that takes place overnight. This process can give you peace of mind for a pretty affordable price. It's one of the things that makes the 7.3 such a great motor.

To remove the fan there is special tool Lisle 43300 Pneumatic Fan Clutch Wrench or a cheaper imitation. Avoids beating up the fan hex for the 3-4 times needed for life of a 7.3l equipped vehicle -- water pump a few times and the oil pump. Has assorted attachments to work on other engines, most people who would need this for 7.3 probably have other vehicles that need maintenance and repairs.

Hey Eddie, great video, I was wondering what the thread pitch is on the 3 bolts that screws into the balancer, I've heard that most of the puller kits don't have the correct size for the 7.3l and you have to purchase 3 of the correct size. Thanks man and thanks for sharing your video. Jay.

How many miles were you sitting at when you realized it was time to do the change?
