*why do you think the scarlet and violet card values dropped so much?*
I think people are still wantinv to open sword and shield due to cards characters and art work so not as much intrest in scarlet and violet
because people buy to quick and dont wait for prices to adjust

why would you ever pay that much for a card that will be printed 100k times. people need patience. If you want to spend 600 on 1 card buy a wotc holo psa 10 they are cheap atm.
They are either rich and don’t care about the money, cus $600 to them is like 6 cents to most, or just dumb, or both

Absolutely fantastic news, I got sick of sword and shield having stupid prices for alt arts. Makes it a lot easier to collectors to collect and complete sets, the only people this screws over is the investor bros
There isn’t much collectible about super cheap overprinted easy to pull cards tho and I don’t even really like any of the arts besides miraidon ex special this is just my opinion I respect yours

To be honest, I think this is what Pokémon wanted to go the price of packs but make the pool rates so much easier so no one is paying ridiculous prices for cards anymore
This is crazy, I can't believe the difference in a week,, I bet those people that rushed to buy are kicking them self's,, great content as always Matt,, keep up the epic work..
I do feel one big reason is simply because of more being given out of packs.
Bulk prices have gone even lower with a minimum of 2 reverse holos and a holo per pack, but I do welcome prices becoming more accessible for a lot more budgets 😁
Yeah the pulls and how much you get has gone up so it’s defo a factor
I have to say, I’m not convinced on this new era of cards, completely agree about quality and holo patterns! Pokemon need to up their game.
I've only opened 1 etb and I agree with you, the quality wasn't great. I had a full art Arven that had 3 dings on the edges. Was a bit like an old promo that came in plastic grips. Also have had print lines, really bad consistently off centre cards and poorly cut, squared corners. Have to say though, I still like a lot of the art.
Always buy singles and bulk 6-8 weeks after a set releases. Just be patient.
For sure prices always drop but I do think this has gone lower then ever
everyone on earth knows this, but contentless youtubers are devoted to making 1 video every set on this predictable pattern

I think pull rate in boxes is absolutely crazy and actually I’m glad because that means we can get good singles for less and complete sets
Scarlet and violet sucks. Not only did they cut back the QUALITY of the cards, they made the hits in packs, drop to only 20%! This is not good at all! I’ve opened 25 + packs, ZERO HITS. Really bad look for the company.
You can buy a 36 booster box for £100, you buy 2 boxes, £190 so most serious collectors will buy 2 full 36 booster boxes first, take their pick, sell off the spares/duplicates and hit most things they need; more cards obviously available as months go buy, more spares, more competition on ebay, prices come down. Card art work isnt great, pokemon themselves arent that interesting. Collectors like myself arent into set building anymore, i prefer to go for the cards I like and this means slick artwork, pick the good card, rigid sleeve them. I dont really see much slick stuff in S&V base, this might explain although some cards which should be higher priced, people arent buying as the card art doesnt mean much to them. Paldea evolved is better, the full art illustrations are good, but even some of these cards arent great. Economy is hard right now, people tightening their belt. Lots of contributing factors. Give it a couple of years and prices might bounce up when the set collectors go for the odd cards they need. Maybe too, we've got too many new issue fatigue. Pokemon is expensive hobby, its like going down a rabbit hole. You try mopping up your sets then a new release comes out, frequency of releases maybe a bit too much.

Why do you think S&V cards aren't worth that much versus sets like Chilling and ES? Those sets have like 10+ cards over £50. Is it better pull rates like you say? Or more product printed? And maybe just because it's still in print?
It’s the pull rates really…it’s easy to get the big cards I compared to older sets
@@Mattculli ah fair enough. I hope the value does go up in years to come, purely to reflect how beautiful the cards are in this set. I’ve been won over with modern cards by CZ and SV has only solidified my new appreciation.

Even with the drops this is still probably one of the best base sets (both value and art wise) in a very long time. The high value chase cards are fine but not in every set.

Nobody will know. there ist definitely a chance that a lot of people will get hurt bad. Mass production, bubbles, bla bla bla. remember the sports card era in the 90s.

This generation of scarlet and violet card sets are absolute trash. The cards are not appealing. They’re worthless, and I just threw all of it away in the garbage not even worth selling, not even for bulk prices. Sword and shield was awesome. Scarlet and violet is absolute garbage. Don’t waste your money.

Honestly I think the price drop is because of the set being weak competitively. I rarely see scarlet and violet cards other than miraidon being used online. I have played against a hilarious wigglet mill deck though

I don’t understand why people think Pokémon cards are gonna be worth as much as the first editions sets of the first cards… there are millions more made.. more people keep them in good condition.. so there will never be that big nostalgia money ever again.. you have to realize that most cards of the first set where used and destroyed.. now, everyone and their mother is keeping them sealed… so how in the world are people still thinking this wil be worth anything. Look at the charizard ultra premium collection, i know people who bought 50 of those.. thinking they will be worth hundreds off bucks in a couple years… and look up how many where printed… and look how the price dropped from 200 to maybe 60 bucks.. Pokémon is not a investment game.. its not something that only a few people should be able to horde, its a kids game! And for people who grew up with it. Everyone should be able to get the cards! Not just some idiots with money who buy everything! So its good that they keep printing and reprinting cards! Everyone should be able to collect them all and enjoy them.
I found this video because i bought 2 pokemon packs for my kids ( first 2 packs i ever bought ) and got that first Miriam card. 😂 Beginners luck i guess 😅

as a collector I'm not interested in getting cards that hold next to no value. Especially if the quality is bad. Yes swsh had tough pull rates but there's a middle ground to be found to make sure that quality and rarity are there for top chase cards. Mass producing alts will obviously come with quality issues. So you guys must stop complaining about quality when pulls are this easy. I for my part will stick with Japanese. You can still get nice art for a reasonable price as long as you stay away from the waifues. To each their own! peace

Thumbs down! Complete and utterly false information here. This is as fake as can be. And there is no sort of crash whatsoever.
Prior to release, values are going to be over exaggeratedly inflated. This is because the card does not exist. After release, you will get an actual realistic and accurate value for each card. The very day before release, every card will be like at the top of a cliff. And the day on release, it will be at the bottom. This means absolutely nothing. The only accurate way of measuring variations is from the date of release onward. Anything prior to release should be treated as not existing. Because it does not actually exist to the general public until it releases officially. We are talking about two absolutely different markets here. And this joker is absolutely giving false information.
If you take a look at the same exact gold Miraidon-ex full art, it was $20 on release. And currently at $19. This is absolutely in no way shape or form a crash. This is actually a very nice steady fluctuation. As we move closer to the next expansion in June, the value will begin to rise again steadily. Host here is using values from a completely different market (pre-release market), and comparing it with a post release market in order to misconstrue the information to make it seem like there's some kind of crash. There have been multiple scam YTers doing the exact same thing. This is absolutely not a crash. The values are practically the same as they have been since release. Some have dropped very slightly, and are already starting to go back up. Where is there any crash? Nowhere.
Hey bud appreciate the comment 😊 however I’m not sure you watched the whole video? For starters I mention how all sets drop after release BUT not to this extent! This was extreme and the reason is the set is just easy to get cards hence no value
I think it’s a good thing myself makes buying the cards cheap
