  • This is a day in the life of an American and Japanese married couple living in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, in Northern Japan. We use a mix of English and Japanese in this video with English captions to make it easier to watch!
    A little about me:
    I'm Rose and I am from California, USA. I moved to Japan in 2013 and now I live in Aomori Prefecture with my husband who is Japanese. We both have day jobs but we work from home which gives us more time to spend together.
    The city we live in has a long, snowy winter, but it's really beautiful in all 4 seasons. I'm planning to make more videos in the future showing what it's like living in the Japanese countryside, so please subscribe to show your support and to get updates on my channel!
    Thanks for watching and see you again soon❤️

      Thanks❤️ We do enjoy the snow despite the time and effort it takes to deal with it 😊

    Wow, that's a huge amount of snow!! I'm originally from the SF bay area, we get no snow, unless a rare cold storm hits us. Take care!

    My dream destination, Aomori and Sapporo because I wish to experience this kind of snow and snow white neighborhood.

    Wow that's a lot of snow, it reminds me of Tahoe in the Winter. Those snowy sunsets looks quite scenic too.

      Thanks for watching! It’s so beautiful, isn’t it? Coming from a place in California that doesn’t snow much, I never knew how beautiful a snowy sunrise could be until I came to Hirosaki.

    Hi Rose, i wanna ask about weather in late november in aomori. Is it already snow there in that date? i plan to visit aomori just to see snow on late november, (couple of weeks again).
    hope you can answer. thank you and happy for you and family

      Hi! It depends on the year, but we usually get our first snow around the end of November. If you are here to see snow, heading to the mountains may be your best bet! Hakkoda is already white 😊 Hirosaki, Aomori City, etc. are not snowy yet, but it’s hard to say what the weather will be like in a few weeks.

      @@ArifNurRahmann I think they have buses but it might be more convenient to rent a car. I haven’t used the buses, so please look it up 😊

      Probably will keep search info for public transportation, as japan didn't recognize driving license from my country

      Thanks for your comment! Since I’m vegan, the list of places I could go might be fairly short (butter is a common ingredient in apple pie). But I would love to make a video on that! I’ll have to keep my eyes and ears open 😁

    Is there usually snow in aomori in mid november?

    • @roseinjapan
      @roseinjapan  Před rokem +2

      In the mountains, yes! In the city, we sometimes get the first snow in mid November, but it doesn't usually start piling up until December.
