Nice vid. Gonna do most of this tomorrow linked up with Norman creek bikeway and the Veloway for a nice 40km circuit!
These bikeway videos are great! I just wish I had more time to explore these places. The only time I have time is at Christmas -NY, when it's often too hot to do much anyway!
I rode the Bulimba Creek Bikeway today 30 April. Very nice.
Nice one!!
Can’t wait to take my escoot for a spin on that baby!
Brings back plenty of pleasant memories. A regular weekend ride for me, except I kept going once I got to the rail crossing, up over the hill then down to the river past Brew Dog, under the bridge and then off home. Always enjoyed completing the ride except when the walkers monopolize the walkway around Minnippi Parklands. A great little diversion was stopping to watch the model aero club. Some spectacular aerobatics to enjoy while along for the ride.
I'll have to get back to check out that aero club!
Hi jelbuilder thank you for the awesome vids absolutely love your content
So glad to hear it!! Much appreciated :)
Yep. I did it a year or two ago. Great bikeway, except for the golf course that you have to go around. Other than that, brilliant.
Another banger of a ride. I've ridden and walked most sections of this bikeway, but never connected them all together. Looking forward to the next video. 👍
Cheers, appreciated 👍👍
I Love Golf! Been Playing My Whole Life. Nice Ride.
I'm only being facetious about golfers😋. My son loves golf
@@jelbuilderfilms I Built Golf Course For 5 Years, Been Playing Golf for 35 Years.
@@Iseekoutthetruth wow, that's a long time! Golf course builder... You've done a lot of things 👍👍
Awesome, thanks mate👍🏼
Pleasure :)
Apparently there is a coupple of different ways to ride on bikeways between Ipswich and the BVRT at Wulkuraka. One is the Brassal Bikeway. I reckon it would almoust be possible to ride from Brisbane to the BVRT on bikeways via the Centenary Hwy bikeway. Would be cool to find out about this.
Great work John. I'll ride this 1 soon. You make the researching easy mate 👍
You'll love it... this was a great ride!!
Hey this is my stomping ground - from the start of the vid up until the golf course. And I used to communte the 2nd part too - up over the gateway bridge. There are some great little off track offshoots you can do here. At the dog park @7:35, if you go down the little side road you get to this beach on the creek - you can cross over (couple hundred meters downstream there is a tree you can cross on) and there is quite an extensive pump track in the trees on the other side - worth checking out. The nice spot you find @9:50, there are tracks all over on the other side of the creek, that go all the way up to Wecker road and your coffee spot. Nice to explore on foot, never anyone there. There is a very old wooden bridge that is falling apart to be discovered. And finally the old farming hut you find at Minnippi - hunt around there for a track that goes down to the creek, and follow it all up behind the model aero club.
Also - those green pipes in the ground- yeah they are for a sewerage system that follows the creek around there. One pipe in particular always stinks, the rest are fine.
Wow, you do know this area well! I'm keen to get back there to explore more... Thanks for the cool little insights! That bridge you mentioned sounds intriguing.
A couple of years ago I took my daughter to the state u12 tenis comp in Cairns. We flew from Bris and hired bikes to get around. We had a great time exploring the bikeways of Cairns, particuarly the N along the foreshore from the city and chilling at the lagoon. It was fantastic, and a great way to get around, as Cairns is bassically flat.
Cool story brah
That was surprisingly fantastic, just added that cycle way to my must do list, that and the city cycle way, one day when I visit Brisbane again.
Loving the vids 👌
It's Def a good one, thanks for watching 👍👍
Great vid. I share the same disdain for golf/golfers.
LOL... if I could, I'd ride my MTB right across that fairway! :)
The meatworks {Borthwick's }brings back memories. I used to work at the Bulimba Powerhouse and ride my bike through the meatworks to get up to the Apollo Ferry.
I never knew about the meatworks till this ride. I should dig into the history a bit.
@@jelbuilderfilms There were two meatworks, Borthwicks and Brisbane Abattoir. It was easier to ride along the river bank where it was flatter than Lytton Road.
I think the Brassal bikeway is partually on an old rail corridor, so that would make it partually a rail trail too.
Been loving the Bikeway vids. Bulimba Creek has always been a favourite of mine, saw a brown snake near Old Cleveland Rd next to the Bikeway one time. Maybe you could try the Norman Creek Bikeway some time. Have a great one
Norman Creek Bikeway.... just looked it up, never knew it was there. Thanks for the suggestion, I might join it with the Tarragindi Bikeway!
I remember riding alot of that as a kid from broadwater rd up to carina when it was mostly dirt and on a bmx . ( the mansfield tracks ). loving the scaled down coffee setup that is a perfect micro jetboil . I just use the old sweetened condensed milk in a tube for sweetner /milk . my dad was a nightshift meatworker at lytton and unfortunately a dayshift golfer at pacific golf course that you rode past . Great vid mate .
Cheers mate.... Yeah, loving this micro stove setup 👍👍
Pretty area. I lived at Bulimba MANY years ago, but didn't investigate any creeks there.
There's a lot of creek to investigate there.... I really enjoyed the parts I saw.
I also lived in Bulimba MANY years ago, I don't think there was any bike way then, I could be wrong, but it looks so well developed now.
@@dheath3697 Probably fairly new, since either of us lived there. Good idea though
@@jelbuilderfilms Looks nice!!
One good point about golfers; if they are wacking little balls around on the golf course, they are not clogging up and wearing out the bikeways and walking tracks, and getting in your way!
You say that, but at that exact bridge where we first see the golf course in this vid, I met a some old golfer driving his golf buggy along the bike path, blocking the entire bridge. I had to go back and wait for him. What an $%^&$(@#!
@@2DFlightSim HA!! That's crazy!!!
Cabulture to Wamuran Rail Trail please!
You just reminded me about that Rail Trail!! I had meant to get out there to film it, but forgot about it. Thanks! Also, yeah, I did that Brassal Bikeway which was quite nice but short when I completed the BVRT. I'll look into what other bikeways there are around Ipswich area too.
The toll booth became automated at one point when they did away with humans tellers…You had to throw the right change into a metal bin then boom gate lifted….bring back the old days!
Yeah, I remember them good old days too! 🙌
Great ride and always great content mate.
Hey where did you get your stove from, its great.
If you are looking for content. I saw that there is a path from Paradise Point to Coolangatta, it looks amazing.
It's all from AliExpress... The stove is a cheap $15 generic Chinese one, and the pot is a $30 Tomshoo titanium 900ml pot. Thanks for the Paradise Point suggestion... I'll map it out👍👍
@jelbuilderfilms , I live in Logan too and more than happy to pick you up at the other end.
Also, thanks for the stove info too, I have been looking for something like that too
@allanwilson7803 thanks for the offer, really appreciate it. 👍👍
Also, I consider loop of doom an unshowcased cycleway!
Loop of Doom?? Where's that? ... And more importantly, will I still live if I ride it?
@@jelbuilderfilms out near Boonah. You'll survive if the bull let's you pass!!
Lol... Just looked it up, actually looks pretty good. 👍👍
Why not take real milk or cream for only a few hours ride? She'll be right!
I usually take small uht milk.... But just trialling packing even smaller. Getting used to the taste of milk powder is another thing though 😏
