A challenging day of bottle digging, but some nice finds to make up for it. #antiquebottles #digging #victorian #edwardian #treasure #history #mosquitoes
Use some bug spray. Get something with Eucalyptus or other botanicals. Check yourself for ticks. too. You should wear loose long sleeved shirts & long pants for protection. A hat with netting over it also helps. You are going to be needing some anti-itch cream, too.
I'll definitely sort something for the next dig - that really was unbearable. Thankfully, we don't get many ticks in the area, as that might have tipped me over the edge! Appreciate the advice 👌
😆 Frickin mosquitoes!!! I hate them. So many cool finds! I’m guessing the lilac liquid is methylated spirits but it looks really pretty 😅
Good luck with your digging Sean. My adventures started in 1978. Hope you find loads of great treasure.
Thank you! 🙂 you must have found plenty of nice stuff back then! Can't wait to see what lies in store for me

These are "bottle dumps" - they're places where waste(mainly glass) used to be burned before regulated landfills became a thing.
