A prayer of commitment saves nobody.
Billy Baalam talked grace through faith but then he put conditions on it.
He redefined belief as total commitment and redefined faith as obedience.
Let's help Billy with the Biblical definition of faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.
Billy said that you must repent of your sins and give your life to Christ for salvation.
Those are both a lifetime of works and has never saved anyone or contributed in any way to salvation.
Nobody has ever been saved by giving their life to Christ.
That is bartering your life for salvation.
Salvation is not a trade for anything.
Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation.
How can you possibly trust Christ alone for salvation when you are also trusting in your performance (repenting of sins/obedience)?
You absolutely can't.
Jesus paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation.
God immediately declares you justified and gives you everlasting life as a free gift.
When you have believed on Christ alone for salvation then you have repented unto life!
Salvation is absolutely free, instant, and eternal, recieved solely by trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone, and is certainly not conditional upon service to God.
Service (discipleship) if you choose it can cost you everything if you go all out in serving God.
Our good works, repenting of sins, and obedience, are for temporal fellowship with God here on earth and for rewards in Heaven or a lack thereof and have absolutely nothing to do with salvation at all.
The only reason anyone will ever be in Heaven is solely by the perfect life, shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection, of Jesus Christ alone.
Anything added or subtracted from this is another.
Billy Baalam had another gospel.
Let's review: What must I do to be saved?
Make a commitment?
Promise to follow Jesus?
Surrender my will?
Pick up my cross daily?
Make Jesus Lord and Master of my life?
Repent of my sins?
Give my life to Christ?
Make a public confession?
Etc???
No!!!, those are works of service and have absolutely nothing to do with salvation at all.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
That means to put all of your confidence (trust) in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

And we read about the wise men and the shepherds I enjoy that . And I'm looking forward to seeing my dad someday he passed away 2019 I would and also my grandparents I will see them some day I am also a Christian. In 2 Corinthians 5:6-8, “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight, we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”
There is plenty of Scripture to support this and it seems as if you are just mimicking to others what you heard from someone without fact checking yourself. I'm not trying to argue and I am also open minded, because like Franklin Graham said at the end of the FAT acronym, we need to be teachable. But to this I am close-minded because of what the Bible tells us, what JESUS said, and how a loving God would not make us wait even longer after we died. God Bless.
Brian Covic . . to be able to read is good but to comprehend is the big thing... ...how could the thief go to heaven immediately and Jesus himself did not go immediately. Jesus rested in the grave and rose. Mary wanted to touch Him but He stopped her and said, you cannot touch me as I have not ascended to my father in heaven YET.......SORRY, but everyone who is dead remains in the grave until Jesus returns. If every one dies and go immediately to heaven, why would there be a second coming for Christ. His second coming would not make sense. Who would He be coming back for???????????. I am not arguing but this is food for thought........ ............

Praise God. When my own daddy died, he distinctively passed something to me thru the Holy Spirit.
I tried hard to carry on but fell on hard times. I had to pray for direction daily and God gave it.
God wants us to lean on Him and not our own understanding.
I had to learn what God wants to teach us so we can do what is His plan. Not our own. As a child and then,an adult, and back to a child of God, I came full circle.
I have learned from both my father and my Heavenly Father.
How honored to know a Father God as this who has now taken care of those who took care of us. He truly loves us.

yes so beautiful... the lord bless me with a beautiful wife 40 yrs ago. I was driving a long the road talking to the lord about getting marrie and asking him what I her be someone who love him so much. someone who knows him a long time. someone who been in church a long time. someone who knows the bible his words very well. as I came to a stop a lady in a car next to me said the lord told me to tell you he bringing you wife .8 months later I met her she was everything I ask the jesus for . I met her at the church were I receive jesus. she been going to that church sent she was 7yrs old. she is now with jesus she when home February 9 2020 .

My Billy Graham's Story After accept the Jesus Christ as my personal savior . I didn't have a church so I started listening to the past Sherman's Billy Graham gave . Eventually I started attending a Baptist church in Woodland California . His past sermons really help me I was brought up in the Christian background But I did not follow my parents in the footsteps Start it going to false religions . Started getting into drug in alcohol . Wasn't sure if I died I will go to heaven Remember saying the words accepting Jesus Christ is my savior but I wasn't sure if I really was . Wasn't sure if it was coming from my heart or just from my mind the things I have learned. So 2016 I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal saver He died in my place and he paid the price for me on the cross . I'm sure grateful I was able to find that Christian church . And my sense of been forgiven past present future. And I have no assurance of my salvation and I'll see my dad someday I will see my grandparents I will see my Uncle's and auntie . I can't hardly wait For the rapture or if I die I will see Jesus Christ because I'm age 66 now Could pass away But you knowThere is consequences I know I have to go before the judgment Seat Christ And I'm doing much better on the things that I do now . One of the things I have to live Don't watch the best movies as a Christian I have a habit of watching horror movies. I know that's not a good thing but that's a big temptation for me. What got me back on track Doing the right thing I found a preacher was talking about your family's in heaven and there's a verse that they can see and hear everything you're doing and they actually cry for ThereFamilies they are doing.
