Jimin actually has a classical dance training background, that's why he's so prevalent in this video but they all danced this genre beautifully. That's Jimin's shadow dancing behind Suga and J-Hope's shadow dancing above RM. Also they filmed this in an old theatre in LA.

@@rjkpop just a heads up about the lyrics… it’s based on the quote about dancers dying two deaths…. One when they lose the passion for dance… and two when they die physically. Bts isn’t saying that they feel that way… it’s more about the anxiety of the possibility and it’s why they’re shown with a shadow that’s not theirs doing something completely different from them…. It’s representing the fear of losing passion that can loom over them.. suga says he pushes through bc inside he found himself, Jhope basically is telling the shadow to go away and he can carry himself forward if that time comes… the ending we see jk watching a shadow disappear.. walking away without it looming over him. It’s about not wanting their job which is creating and performing music…. To start feeling more like a job than a passion… they don’t want to lose the passion they have… and they see only they can keep that shadow at bay

Black Swan will always be one of my favourite BTS songs it was just presented soo well!! The message and their vulnerability in the lyrics about their fear of one day not loving music as they used to, the choreography, how they performed it with soo much emotion. Jimin’s dance solo in the music video and how they went in the contemporary direction for the choreo. It’s a masterpiece.

Watch the Art Film. It was released by HYBE before BTS version. They used the words but they used classical instruments. The dance was performed by a dance company. After BTS saw this version where it was danced in a contemporary/ballet style in bare feet, they said that Jimin should dance the lead part. Jimin has the most contemporary style dancing experience. Then they debuted their version of the song on the Late Late Show with James Corden. They set up the stage to look like the lake from Swan Lake, and they had them dressed in black for the Black Swans, and they danced bare feet like the dancers in the Art Film.

There are often several versions of the Official" music video.
The "Ioniq: I'm On It" is a promotional song for Hyundai. But you barely notice the car because the mv & song are so good; similar style as "Film Out"
"Come Back Home" was released on July 4, 2017 as remake of Seo Taiji’s song "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji 25th Anniversary Remake Project.
“With Seoul” is a BTS song and film highlighting Seoul as a vacation spot. The original also shows them recording it. They have also done 3 other versions, including a “short” on 2020-09-11; a beautiful drone visual of Seoul (The Four Seasons of Seoul” on 2019-12-30, & an amazing drone visual mv on 2021-01-09.
My personal favorite "other version" video is "DANGER (Mo-Blue-Mix) , featuring THANH". Thanh is an Australian-Vietnamese singer. This song has a R&B vibe with some great lyrics added by Thanh.
There are loads of their other songs including some of my favorites: “Dionysus”, “Ma City”, “Truth Untold”, ”Outro: Tear”, “House of Cards”, “Lost”, “Dimple”, “Butterfly”, etc. and their solo, rapline, vocal line, short films, comeback trailers, etc. not included.

They did a contemporary/ballet style performance piece of this on the 2020 MMA award show. There were only 6 of them during that show as Suga was out recouperating after shoulder surgery on an existing injury. During that performance they danced in paired units barefoot and in actual water. We had Jungkook & Jimin - RM & Jin - and J-Hope & Tae. It was totally different choreo to anything they'd shown us before and was utterly breathtaking. I really recommend you see it for yourself!

6:01 lol I feel you dude… I have that feeling when I watch jungkook dance also 😂 even though he’s the youngest… he just does everything with SO much power and precision… I guess he was only 15 when they debuted and he debuted as their main vocalist , lead dancer, sub rapper and their official “center” for performances… we don’t call him the golden maknae for nothing!!! Such a passionate mf … blows me away … also jimin with his man bun… just he’s strong but in a more soft way of that makes sense… him and Jhope are the main dancers and Jhope is the dance leader… but jimins contemporary background is clear in any dance they do really… he’s really fluid while also being precise… it’s just so pleasing to the eye to watch!!! Knowing that most of them didn’t even dance at all before jointing bts…. I’m constantly in awe of their dedication and passion to their art!!! They do music of all kinds and are definitely their own genre IMO…. Their journey… all they’ve been through… so inspirational!!!

I just discovered your channel through this video, I attach a lot of importance to the meanings in the songs that BTS portray, their dances are always passionate and sometimes heartbreaking like in Black Swan, for me at this point it is art, especially when the lyrics they create are so beautiful and deep.
So I appreciate that you understood in a way what this song evokes but also that you admire the beauty of the choreography and the emotion it delivers.
I hope that you will come to want to know more precisely the group BTS, like their history, the members, their musics and meanings, their contributions ... etc, if so I would definitely give you recommendations if you need them.
Thanks for this video which I greatly enjoyed watching, I will definitely be keeping an eye on your content.
And some info on Black Swan if you're interested :
The theme is this quote by the late dancer Martha Graham :
"A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful."
This is at the root of the sentiments inlaid in "Black Swan."
Much like a dancer feels purposeless when they can no longer express themselves through dance, BTS contends that the day that music no longer fills them with the same passionate fire as before, or even if there came a day when they stopped creating music - what they feel is their life's purpose - it would feel like death.
RM sings, "If this can no longer resonate / No longer make my heart vibrate / Then this may be how I die my first death."
Once again, BTS affirm that despite their countless record-breaking accolades, the wealth they've amassed, and their ever-increasing fame, they are artists.
What means most to them is the art - music, visuals, dances - that they create.
The choreography, so much symbolism is folded into each of BTS 'emotive choreographies, but the routine in the art film by MN Dance Company visualizes the meaning and tension within "Black Swan."
The seven members of BTS, where Jimin seems to represent the "swan", even if they all are, constantly feeling shackled and pushed down by the others around him.
The light even appears through the dance, further establishing the swan's inability to escape the darkness that binds him.
'Map of the Soul: 7' follows the group's 2019 album, 'Map of the Soul: Persona', inspired by Swiss psychologist Carl Jung's major archetypes of the human mind: persona, shadow, ego, and self.
Suga addressed the "shadows" and darkness that go hand-in-hand with celebrity in Map of the Soul 7's opening track.
The swan dancer represents the BTS 'ego, struggling to contend with the rest of the dancers, "the shadows" holding them back.
The performance is not without hope, however.
At the end of the sequence, the ego prevails and stands tall over the shadows. Even though the darkness isn't ever completely gone, there is a way to live in harmony with it.
There are also a lot of lyrical and tonal references.
I recommend Bookish Theories which creates quite a few videos related to BTS, giving us explanatory content.

I think it is a good idea to react to the lyrics separately from the music video. =) You could look at the lyrics first or afterwards. I would actually suggest looking at the Doolset lyrics because they have excellent translations and also include footnotes, usually, to explain Korean wordplay or other contextual references.

Someone has probably already posted that the song is about how it would be for them if they no longer wanted to sing or they lost their passion for music and performing...as though it would be their first death. Also, someone has probably already posted that the shadow dancing behind Suga in the beginning is Jimin, the shadow on the ceiling above RM's part is J-Hope and the shadow at the end before Jungkook walks away is Jimin also. They could be showing vulnerably by being barefoot.. however contemporary is done barefoot almost entirely I believe… so I think it’s a detail to show us that… like bts doesn’t do anything in accident and they create an environment to feel even if you don’t know what they’re saying… but how they entered the screen doing that kinda slide down and up is pretty typical for a ballet/contemporary piece which is why I think that’s why they’re barefoot.. but it could be what you said instead! And jungkook and jimin are the ones barefoot in on and since jimin is classically trained in contemporary it could maybe be why? Jungkook always used to do dance practice in tims… which are like dancing with lead weights on your feet lol it’s actually much harder to dance barefoot than with shoes bc you have no grip… you have to be much more precise with your movements… jungkook is known for being the strongest all around… vocals and dancing… he’s got a lot of power…. But he also literally only wears slides and runs around barefoot everywhere bc in their recent dance practice for their online concert released there’s this huge room with like military fast movement background dancers with kind of a military sound they’re marching to but him and Jhope have this kinda choreographed martial arts part together and later they run and jump off of background dancers backs to the front which I would think hurt… and I know he is barefoot and jimin might be….. maybe not but jk definitely was lol I think it’s just him sometimes… he’s a unique dude :)

Hi, again. Good reaction, ty. I am glad u watched this MV after ON. Nice connection there. U can watch choreographers or dancers reacting to BTS u will learn a lot. =0) I suggest Lindsey Mackail czcams.com/video/BhrbYxClsWM/video.html & czcams.com/video/YioNCiZoVOc/video.html she is a baby army and choreographer. The art film is this song but danced by a dance studio that BTS hired. U should check it out. Some of BTS songs have 2 or more MVs. It's a thing. 😅 This song is them being super vulnerable! So the choreo has to fit the lyrics. The song is based on this quote "A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful."
    - Martha Graham (1894-1991). The song is also based on the movie by the same name. We learn after BTS Festa 2022 Dinner that BTS are burned out. This song was telling us this.
I love this song. This is almost 90% contemporary dance. And it is impressive since they were a hip hop group on debut in 2013. They killed it. They are lovely to watch. The choreo is wonderful. And check out their dance practices to each song from the album. =0) I am May 2019 Army and Jimin ult bias, Suga wrecker OT7. I am going back and watchin ur BTS reactions. I hope u watch the MV's for MOTS7. Their choreo is fire. Love this album a lot. But BE is my fav. My fav song is Your Eyes Tell. Its a Japanese OST. I don't think I have a fav song from the album. I love a bunch of them. Hugs. Later's. #YouAreEnough -NY USA 2019 Army💜
Black Swan: Mainly written by RM, the one you like, is about their fears of losing all passion for music, either writing it or performing on stage. It's also based on a quote by Martha Graham who was an important figure in the world of modern dance, "A dancer dies twice. Once when they stop dancing and this death is more painful." They've been doing this for a long time now and for some of them it's all they've ever done from a young age but realized music is their life.
