what amazes me is that you manage to retain the feeling of the original from animation to sound effects, something that most animators of today fail to replicate in bringing back the old school anime to today.
Ahhh. The sound of that gun pod.
And most animators fail to do that with the 3d models as well.
Being true to form while keeping the animations fluid in 3d is quite the feat here.
I just love that squishy “CHING!” sound.

I can't help but notice that, when CGI animators try to recreate animation classics with computer animation, it lacks that kinetic energy, that "Sakuga" power.
THIS has tonnes of it! Very faithful to the "Itano Circus" style!

Do with a major studio and a budget backing your work…. Between this and your recent transformers animation it’s what we’ve been begging for for the past 20 years…. I can’t believe how good this looked and the sound effects were PERFECT

Macross Frontier, for example, had amazing mechs but the janky aliens.
This is how you use hightech animation technology, you try to be as faithful as possible. As only true enthusiasts understands that it is not all about the visuals and the dialogues, but just as important is the feel and the atmosphere the story is trying to portray.

@@rsh650 My associate of no relation outside of sarcastic and satirical worship of the abhrahamic religion about a T-Pose man, you speak of needing a sense of realism and immersion in regards to a cel-shaded fan cartoon created for the explicit purpose of showcasing mech designs from the 1980's that have caused legal disputes for literal decades, one of which happens to be a variable fighter taking inspiration from the flagship Topgun Air Fighter, the F-14 Tomcat, one of which is painted in tribute to the Jolly Rogers.

Wow, Deculture! THANK YOU for the cool tribute to Macross with the Itano Circus style thrown in. What an early X-mas present for the eyes! Right now, as I'm watching this, I have the Macross 'Dogfighter' theme music playing simultaneously on another open tab. The result is pure SDF bliss!!!
Yeah when I was making it , I realised it is crazy to do a macross battle without the Itano circus. So Iconic so I did my best to recreate it in 3d. Glad you like the result :D

:34 thru 40 is just sci fi eye candy. The floating rounds being shown in the pan shot is such a nice touch. Really seals the atmosphere of this video.

All those Sound Effects were perfect!! Really took me back to when I first began watching Macross and the like on VHS in the early 90's at the age of 6.

Man, whatever you are doing to make the fluidity of motion feel just like DRYL, you have got to teach studios how to do this… I hate so much anime out there these days where they are so lazy and have this horrible clunkiness to their shows… whether they animate strictly on the 3’s with no motion blending/blur or whatever it is they do ( or don’t do) I don’t know, but it makes things look so bad compared to the way it used to look.
This is an absolute visual treat!

This is just pure awesome. The original Macross/first season of Robotech (don't judge me) is one of my favorite things, and this was pure bliss.

Well during lockdown last year I had time to binge most of macross including frontier. The scene could have left an impression on my brain :D
DAMMIT, I LOVE THIS! I MISSED THIS! Of all the anime that set me up for life & taught me that anime isn't just like Voltes V or Daimos, THIS IS IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! If ever Super Dimensional Fortress Macross gets a reboot, I hope the anime studios involved would do it LIKE THIS! THIS IS HOW A REBOOT SHOULD BE DONE! And DAMN, I hope they hire YOU to do THIS! YOU'VE PROVEN YOUR WORTH! KEEP IT UP! MORE! MORE!
Reminds lions of what they might have done 40 years ago, if modern tools existed, & boy did lions look for the tools. The most a 10 year old could have afforded might have been drawing 1 pixel at a time in a sprite animator.
