- Removing Wifey's Old Stock Mercedes Stereo and Installing a Mercedes Style Android Car Radio, CD, DVD, Wifi, GPS, Etc for Her 2005 Mercedes C230. This was a Christmas Gift. Her Mercedes already Had grille and Headlights upgrade now an Android stereo.
You have no idea how much you helped me. Disassembling it was a huge pain in the ass at first but now its super easy i actually had to break a piece of plastic cause a skrew was skidded🤦 but i did something wrong it always kills my car battery!!! I have bought a different touch screen system that does not fit too well. Would you mind sending me a link to this system you bought? I would really appreciate it!!! This radio is called Android 10. For Mercedes 2005 c230. Purchased on EBay about 3 years ago and I no longer see it for sale on eBay.

I found it on EBay it is called Android 10.1. Now there is Android 12.0
How has it been working? Have you had the steering wheel buttons working fine? I've heard some people complaining that while using car trip computer, going through menus,it also does some things on the radio like switches songs etc...
Did you have originally the Harmon Kardon system with fiber optics wiring before you changed out the radio unit ? The way you can tell is that the rear speakers have a small badge on top of the grill that reads " Harmon Kardon ". The fiber optics are wired to the headunit, cd changer, and amp .The reason why I ask because I went to two stereo installers and they told me that they would have to rewire the whole car in order for me to change out the head unit. So, I just stuck with the OEM radio for the time being so that I can take more research on newer android units that's plug and play with the existing fiber optics in my car. Watched some of your older videos, and noticed the same motor as my car ( 2005 C230 Kompressor M112 motor ). Thanks for the video.
I do not have the Harmon Kardon system on mine. It does have the steering controls and they work.
Roger I saw a Video converting his Harmon Kardon (with Fibre Optics) to a Bluetooth system and the wiring was rudimentary and easy to do.

The antenna plug in blue wire. Is it just difficult or is it to be connected to the other harness? Mine would not just stab in. Does it it just stab in like that?
Actually you are right It did not plug in that way my fault. I forgot to go back in the video and mention that the blue wire is same set up for a power antenna as a normal aftermarket radio.

My Brother, thank you!!, I had gone on Ebay and looked for android Radio Double Din for my year mercedes and this radio showed up. But let me say if there is ever a warranty issue, I recomend to purchase from an actual Best Buy store/ car audio store. Because going back if anything ever happens I am done for.

@@SiikPros I had gone to ebay and it is Chinese version. I wrote Android 10 double din made for 2005-2007 Mercedes c230 and kompressor this popped up. Hope this helps.

Radio came from EBay, Android 10.0, now they offer Android 12.0
If your device had a HDMI cable ability or a portal you could have connected a first stick or something in that wheelhouse and you could have had indefinite amount of movies games

@@MIC-LS It took some time and going through a lot of options but I finally managed to disable the beeps through: Settings/Car settings/Base setting/Keypress beep

Hi there :-) did you need an adapter for the factory radio antenna?
The adapter that came with radio wire harness sucked, would not pick up any radio stations. I had to buy a dash mounted anntena for stations to work.

It will fit, but I'll be honest, I do not trust it. I recomend to get something with a warranty, or name brand.
What are the things that you did not like about this unit ? I am looking to get a new unit for my car and I am undecided. I for sure what my steering wheen controls to work.
The warranty is what I don't like, if this thing goes bad there is no warranty I would be SOL. I recomend purchasing a unit from an actual store if something goes bad you can add a warranty and return it.

There is a wire harness Kit when you buy Stereo Install Kit for your particular model. Wire Harness is simple plug and play from your factory Harness to your new stereo unit. These items are usually sold together.

This Radio was and Ebay Android 10 was the name. It is plug and play only for mercedes c230. Pain in the butt install. That's why I made the video showing the hardest trim removal.

Thank you for commenting, but recently the radio has failed there is No Support, no one to help, therefore I would not recommend. Looks cool but it did not last. I recommend to purchase something from a local brick and mortar store that if anything goes wrong they can warranty.

The CD player is actually a DVD player.

I am being honest, right now I am having issues with the radio and been in talks with the vendor. Let me suggest if purchasing a radio like this, do not buy it from Amazon or Ebay instead buy it from Best Buy, Walmart or anywhere they will honor a warranty if anything goes wrong. I will not recommend who I purchased this from Ebay.

I bought the same stereo and for whatever reason everything works great except there’s no sound whatsoever I can’t figure out why it’s not outputing any sound/music. Powers up, connect Bluetooth, steering wheel control works fine but there’s no sound coming out? Did you have to do anything special for the speakers?
Try doing a reset if nothing works try contacting were you purchased radio.

How much time did it take to install the gps antenna? Was that difficult? Does it auto dim at night via sun sensor? How about steering wheel controls for volume and tracks…did that work after install?
GPS antenna was built in just thread a tiny bullet size coaxial antenna to back of radio. When you buy the aftermarket harness for your Mercedes is plug and play and the steering controls work automatic. Once Radio is installed you can go into menu settings and change steering controls from radio as you please.

Where did you get the new radio and will it fit 2007 C230
May I recomend for you to buy from a brick and mortar place just incase there are warranty issues. Mine was an ebay purchase and the company is no longer. So if anything happens to my radio unit I would be SOL.

Yes I would, it is way better than the simple stock radio.
@@MIC-LS Does it work with the steering wheel controls? Does it have an option for a backup camera?
Where can it be purchased?
The volume controls work on the steering column and channel scanning also it does provide a back up camera and it was not installed. The only thing weird is that when channel selecting on the steering wheel it also scrolls the tripometer, oil service cycle at the regular gauge cluster menu's. This could be a simple one of the 2 plug reversal at the back of the radio. If you buy this set up and plug the wires make sure everything on steering wheel is working before final install and you will need to load a current gps navigation map on an SD card to the new Andriod Radio to use it.

Thanks for the comment. I searched high and low on on-line and seller on ebay is NO longer selling this radio. Now they are selling double din with flat adjustable screens. I guess I was lucky.

Can you adjust the bass on it ?
It has equalizer for you to customize it also has presets like, rock, flat, jazz etc. But as of today my radio just froze and it stopped working. Getting in contact with the people who I purchased the radio so hold on do not purchase this radio. I may have to make a video about my personal experience after the install.

It cost me, around $290 online. I recomend to buy this radio at an actual store (reputable place like Best Buy, etc). If anything happens you can return it back to a real store. Online you may be gambling.

$275 1 year ago. It might be more or less. I decided after to go with the Holley Terminator X and it came with everything needed. I posted a video installing it. Good luck!

1 big regret is that over time the android system fails to start and shuts down despite the fact it is connected to power and was working ver well. better be careful not to sell your stock radio

Lasted for about 12 months then starts freezing, hanging etc. Tried to update the android over the internet through wifi but no change. Tried to reset android settings still no change. Resorted to put back the stock equipment.
Yes thing may not last forever. I do have the stock radio if it ever happens.
