- Battle Against Pokemon Trainer Red in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver.
I'll get to uploading the other video I have planned soon enough. I still haven't fought all the Gym Leaders in their rematches yet, and the Elite 4 and Champion rematches are on their way, but the editing will take a bit. I spent most of my time grinding for EXP against Gym Leaders and the Elite 4 just so I'd be on par with Red, and to some extent, Lance.
The only downside of this fight is that I didn't use all six of my own Pokemon. I probably should have sent my Feraligatr out against Venusaur, used Ice Fang, and then finished it off with Flamethrower from my Arcanine. Probably would have prevented him from using every Full Restore in his arsenal, too.
I used the GB Sounds for this battle. Felt it made things more nostalgic that way. If you want a non-GB Sounds battle uploaded, then let me know and I'll do that, too.

Great battle, I really like how you handle your Dunsparce. Even though it's a weak Pokemon you work with what you've got and charge forward anyway. You must have grinded a lot to be around Reds level. Love it! I actually prefer the 8 bit version of this song for some reason.

I also really love Red as a concept. He's the player character from the first games and he has a canonical team. (although I much prefer him having an Espeon in the original GSC) I always wonder how cool it would be if they kept doing the this with each generation. Like being able to fight Gold in gen 3 with Typhlosion, Aipom, Togetic, Red Gyarados, Sudowoodo and Dragonite. Ambipom and Togekiss in ORAS. Ruby in gen 4 with Blaziken, Swampert, Sceptile, Gardevoir, Castform, and Kecleon. Diamond in BW with Infernape, Torterra, Empoleon, Togekiss, Lucario, and maybe Mesprit. (Rotom if not) And Black in BW2 since he's mentioned in the game and you can visit his house. No idea what his team would be tho but you get the idea. Would be great.
Thanks, I appreciate that. :) I love Dunsparce, despite its lackluster stats, so I try to do what I can with it, keeping it at a higher level than the rest of my team helps. Grinding was "simple" but time consuming. Once you get a Gym Leader to start appearing you can rematch them indefinitely during a certain time frame. So, that made things a lot simpler.
Funny thing, Hilbert and Hilda (The BW protagonists) were originally slated to appear in the PWT in B2/W2. They have lines quoting N, and the announcer introduces them by name. Unfortunately that idea was scrapped, but if we were ever to fight a previous protagonist B2/W2 would have been the best place for it, or at least have them show up in the Battle Subway. I'd love to see more protagonists in the franchise, likewise I'd like to see some of the female protagonists appear, too. Poor Leaf wasn't even referenced in HGSS.
I gotcha, there are definitely Pokemon I love despite how weak they actually are. Pidgeot for example. it's one of my favorite pokemon even though I know it's one of the weaker early birds.
Hilbert AND Hilda were meant to be in the game?! Damn that makes me mad that they didn't go with it considering how fucking popular Red is!! Big missed opportunity there Game Freak! I agree with you on the female protagonists. Give them some love too guys...

Of course they have. Hundreds have also uploaded all the Kanto Gym Leader Battles from this game, Rival Battles from ORAS, XY, Champion battles from various games, etc. etc. I've been uploading important battles from the franchise for a while now, going through each game. Most of the videos that exist are low quality, grainy footage, I am aim to produce videos with as high quality as possible. I never claimed what I was uploading was unique or new in any way.

Lance is the Champion. Blue is the final Kanto Gym Leader, and Red is the final battle of the game at the top of Mt. Silver.
