- What are the best high dividend income ETFs to invest in?
Given the recent recessionary outlook on the markets, and heavy downward trend we may be facing, income investments are now more important then ever.
And Today ill be going through what are in my opinion the top 4 best high dividend income ETFs available for income investors. These investments serve to provide risk management, along with a steady flow of income, and they are especially beneficial for retirees who plan on living off their portfolios earnings.
Now just so you know I will be updating this list on a regular basis to try and include new ETFs that have recently launched, like helo, bali, qqqy, jepy etc.
These ETFs are very new and because of the lack of performance history, I can't accurately rate them, therefore they will not be included in the list.
This video was heavily requested by you guys in the comment section, and right now is a perfect time to create it considering the potential recession we're facing.
I will be listing the ETFs from my least favourite, to my favourite and go through them in detail to point out their pros and cons.
Certain important technical factors do play a heavy role in this list like liquidity, expense ratios, and concentration risk.
Now remember this is my list and in no shape or form am I saying you should invest in these ETFs. This is not financial advice. But I'm open to hearing your comments.
Here are the rankings for the best high income ETFs:
4. DIVO
3. JEPQ
2. SVOL
1. JEPI

I think it's important to stick to stocks that are immune to economic policies. I'm looking at NVIDIA and other AI stocks. It seems AI is the trajectory most companies are taking, including even established FAANG companies. Maybe there are other recommendations?
1:30 DIVO
5:15 JEPQ
9:45 SVOL
14:10 JEPI
Thank you.
Thank you, as always, Viktoriya. I always love your videos. Great content, too.
Fist time subscriber here. Wow, that was very well articulated. Thank-you.
Your videos are very enlightening and covers essentially any questions i have about these high yield dividend stocks that im interested in while comparing them to eachother as well as SPY, thank you!
Thanks Viktoriya! Just in time for me. Like to see similar. Keep up the great work!
Definitely looking forward to a vid seeing your portfolio 😊
can't wait to see that portfolio video! 🤑
That was a very solid presentation! Thank you for the recommendations. It appears these ETFs have both decent returns an great dividends, which are hard to find these days, especially in REITs.
I love your simple analysis. Since close to retirement I’ve been adding these as a great hedge and constant income stream to help reduce selling my equities to live off. I look at them as an annuity but with having the benefit of always getting the principle back if needed.
Definitely you are the best! Thank you!👍👍👍
Very professional! Thank you.
Love all your videos ! they teach me a lot + ur a super cutey. All the way down from South Florida ;)
Thank you, excellent information for a new investor.
All 4 of these are fantastic. I’d add idvo to the mix too
You are very good at what you do. Great videos
Agreed
Thank you for the great financial advice. ;-)
Thanks for this video
You clearly put a lot of work into this and it is very much appreciated. Just enough detail and never bogged down with too much. Just right :) I subbed and ticked the bell the first time I saw one of you videos. Keep up the wonderful work !!!
P.S. You are too polished to use the crazy looking red head click pic, let you natural poise and class show through !!
Great video! I starting to warm up to SVOL. You're videos are unique and I really appreciate the work you do.
Vik is already at 42K? I found this channel at 9k ... congrats keep going!
Always love your videos, and being an income investor this one was right on target. So many new products are now hitting the market videos a year from now may make this list longer...will be anxious to see how some of the new players pan out!
Viktoriya, as an already-retired investor without active income, which of these funds should I base my portfolio on, in an IRA account? Thank you for providing this much needed info coming to us from such a beautiful speaker!
You are just wonderful
I own 3 out of 4 of these. I've also been buying HIGH.
You promised me (in a reply) that you would do this...and you did...thank you.
No problem! 😊
@@ViktoriyaMedia Actually, it may be more important than you realize since the very definition of Integrity is "doing what you say you will do." I was in manufacturing for 51 years and senior management for the last 30 of those. I think if you asked the 450 people who worked for me in my last operation they would say that my greatest value to them was "doing what I said I would do." .... not my ME degree, not my MBA....but just Integrity. Just FYI.
You are future Buffet . All the best , you do not even need it.
Most excellent video!
Very informative 👍🏻 do non resident us citizens pay dividend and capital gains tax?
Can you do a video of rates go negative and how would you navigate that environment
Thank you, Viktoriya, for sharing your knowledge on the EFFs! I've noticed that my work IRA and ROTH are restricted to buying only mutual funds, most of which have a 0.5%+ expense ratio. Additionally, their dividend yields are lower than popular ETFs. Could you kindly recommend mutual funds that offer high-income dividends and possibly appreciate as well? Many thanks in advance.
On DIVO that looks to be a dividend trap or at least a dividend bog. Over the past two years it trades between 33 & 37. Looks like when it pays its dividend it drops the appropriate amount then builds back up & repeats. It has gained value over 5 years. Like so many of these ETF’s it’s trading dividends for share growth. Maybe I’m wrong, but this investment doesn’t look that attractive to me. I enjoy your channel. Definitely informative 👍
I already own JEPI and JEPQ both in my Roth IRA and taxable brokerage accounts. I wish JP Morgan had covered call ETFs for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Russell 2000 index; so I own Global X's ETFs for those two indexes as well. I own covered call ETFs in all four US market indexes because they do not always trade in the same direction up, down or sideways in any given time period.
I would sell the global x funds. Very poor returns if you look at Backtesting. The ATM call model has failed imo. Love JEPI, JEPQ, and DIVO though.
nice video
4. DIVO monthly dividend
3. JEPQ very new:- Technology stocks.
2. SVOL very new too , return 15.1 % the ETF not hold any stock.
1. JEPI underlined holding * down side risk. Risk mitigation. 4.53%.
Thank you for VDO .
Good informative video, thanks for that. It would be interesting to see a video on how to build a portfolio for the "next 50 years" from 4 to 8 top income ETF.
What do you think about TLTW, a covered call ETF that use bonds? Very high yield
5% Is not enough 🤑
We all love jepq
What about $high
I hope HIGH ETF (Simplify) might make your list next time.
Which ticker?
Great videos! What do you think about SVOL's new Fee of 1.15%? I had SVOL but ended selling to buy JEPQ and JEPI
Thank you! New video on it coming soon! Crazy how high the expense ratio jumped! Also the last 3 distributions we're almost all ROC, which has never happened since the inception of the fund!
Thanks for this great financiaI advice Viktoriya. I also saw in a video that though dividend-paying stocks don’t offer dramatic price appreciation, they can provide a consistent income stream. I want to spread across $400k into profit yielding dividend equities but unsure of which to get into.
Remember that investing in the stock market carries risks, and it’s important to do your own research, also advisable to consult with a financial advisor before making any investment decisions.
Speaking with an advisor helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, , and in just a few months, I was able to earn over $650K in net profit from high dividend yielding stocks. you should try it too if you're unsure about the market.
@tommyers My partner’s been considering going the same route, could you share more info please on the advisor that guides you
@aureliobjm 'HEATHER LEE LARIONI' guides me. There are other good FAs online too, if you look around. But for me, Heather's honest approach gives me complete ownership and control of my positions, and her rates are incredibly affordable given my ROI.
@tommyers Thanks a lot for the lead. I searched her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
Cheers ❤
I own JEPI,JEPQ & DIVO
SVOL vs JEPQ. I would go with JEPQ any day which is the best of the best. If you believe in Tech and the future which is AI then this is the one to own. Please ! do your own due diligence, this is just my opinion.
Viktoriya a big Thanks ! nicely explained.
Why not both
Could you do this analysis for Canadian income ETFs
What would you consider a 4 part investment into these funds? If I were to pick 4 to invest and then rebalance on a quarterly basis what funds would you think are best to invest in?
It may be best to combine JEPI and SVOL. JEPI would do well when there is volatility, while SVOL will do best when the volatility is quite low.
I agree. What do you think about the distribution of percent for a portfolio like this? Thanks!
Hello!
What do you think about iShares JP Morgan USD Emerging Markets Bond ETF (EMB) ?
I went all in CONY
Thanks. Any thoughts on the best growth stocks or etfs for 2024?
a lot coming up! but solar ETFs is something to look into, I will be making a video on it very soon!
when you think you knew it all.. im getting my butt over to IRBK asap cus the Degiro just sucks. lol
Replace DIVO with SPYI and add TLTW
I only have 1 and 3.
You kind of have to underperform the market nowadays. They track anyone that outperforms and every time I have outperformed the market this year, stocks tank 1%. It is unreal how that happens but either there is an AI running everything and they cannot allow anyone to use it, there is a cartel doing this, or someone is watching financial data like Ken Griffen. If I could improve these covered call ETFs, it would be not out of the money but take the standard deviation of the month and have that be the option premium. So if the expected monthly return is 2% and the standard deviation is 4% then I would write the covered call for 6% above the spot price. That way I am removing the tail moves of the month and then it would also write puts that go to 98% of the spot price. That way it stabilizes the price of the asset and then you get option premiums based off of that and if it goes outside the norm that is the dividend that you are paid and if it stays in range then you are great. Either that or you buy it back if it gets into that range. i am not sure but the idea would be to keep it in the expected return range as easily as possible.
I'd be curious as to your thoughts on TLTW now that Fed rates have possibly peaked and are predicted to start declining in 2024.
Tltw is a covered strategy on TLT (20+yr bonds) the yield is amazing but considering that interest rates could potentially drop, that means bond prices will rise. The problem with tltw is that it sells only 2% OTM calls on TLT, so it leaves very little room for growth. But it will capture all the downside if TLT fluctuates alot. Almost like qyld, a covered call ETF on qqq, if you look at its performance you can see the long term issue. I feel Tltw is best if yields are rising. I don't feel the dividend yield will compensate for growth potential. This is just my personal opinion, not financial advice 😊
For women (as well as for everybody else), its so nice to have a woman doing this. thank you
If you have it in a traditional IRA you pay taxes when you withdraw. Like any other traditional IRA investment.
Seeing my monthly dividend income grow is EXTREMELY motivating to continue investing . Buying growth makes sense intellectually, but during a bear market, watching my growth portfolio shrink…the motivation isn’t as high as it is for dividend investing. A lot of this is psychological!
A solid strategy can be a key component of an investor’s portfolio. Well, the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward and such impeccable decisions are better guided by professionals.
Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $483k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently.
Do you mind sharing info on the adviser who assisted you? I'm 39 now and would love to grow my stock portfolio and plan my retirement
The adviser I'm in touch with is 'Lisa Angelique Abel' He works with Merrill, Pierce, Smith incorporated and interviewed on CNBC Television. You can use something else, for me his strategy works hence my result. He provides entry and exit point for the securities I focus on.
Thanks, I just googled her I'm really impressed with her credentials. I reached out to him since I need all the assistance I can get.
I like to guess what your top 4 where I got 3 of 4 I was hoping that SPYI was going to be in your top 4.
She isnt a fan of SPYI
Thumb up ❤
When judging liquidity, in addition to AUM I also look at bid-ask spread and the daily average shares traded.
Would you be willing to make videos about your personal portfolio?
❤
I like $HIGH
I'm retired and trying to live on dividends. Recently, i have added two BDC's to my portfolio. GSBD and pennantpark BDC. Anyone have any thoughts?
What about yieldmax ETF ?
I know you can only review products that the industry provides. However covered call ETFs along with new put ETFs, are pretty limiting in terms of being able to respond to market conditions - especially if the value of their core holdings drops. HIGH uses credit spreads and has a beta of 0.3, with a return of 9.6% and has the ability to step aside away from the market if need be - thus able to handle up, down, sideways very nicely.
Wait, you gave a video about 6 months ago where you proclaimed SVOL was a dividend trap. You show Total Return, but that's not what I as a dividend income investor mainly look at. Valuation does matter over time! So I'm confused why you like it now.
The video says “NOT dividend trap” check again
SPYI over JEPI for me. Much better tax strategy.
Exactly
why? I own both but JEPI seems more stable.
Dividend is stable despite volatility changing. I’d be suspicious.
Call them what they are... closed end mutual funds.
I have all 3! I agree they are my top favorites. I am dipping my toes into Yieldmax ETFs now. I also add SPYI, and BND (BNDW and BNDX). Once the bond market recovers in the long run the investment will increase nicely, plus they give out pretty good dividends monthly.
HIGH is another interesting ETF from Simplify that pays monthly dividends.
They underperform benchmark indexes....no reason to buy such dogs.
The yeildmax are dividend traps friend.. spyi is a better plan
@@Mark-RainAgreed. No free lunch in the market. If it were as good as people act, with no NAV decay, everyone would be investing in them… but they’re not. Yield traps for sure.
So far I like SPYI, very diversified high divi yield, growth, and tax friendly
I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $200k gains with months, I'm really just confused at this point
Having an lnvestment advser is the best way to go about the market right now, especially for near-retirees, I've been in touch with a coach for a year now mostly because I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I nettd over $320K in profits so far, Its clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know that Investment advisors know.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financlal future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?
There are a lot of independent advisors you might look into. But i work with Viviana Marisa Coelho and I have been working together for nearly four years, and she is excellent. You could proceed with her if she satisfies your discretion. I endorse her
I just googled her and I'm really impressed with her credentials; I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get. I just scheduled a caII.
My wife does not invest yet and she has about 12 years before he retires, can you give me three stocks or ETFs that will give her a lot of growth for the next 12 years
why would you invest for a 5% yield when you can get that from banks? just odd strategy imo.
What is your affiliation with Warren Buffet?
No love for QQQY?
It's had 1 dividend mate. I bought in for a small 1% portfolio allocation but I wouldn't trust it with anything more until we see how it performs for a few months.
Plummeting div along with the markets, CCP's. Not great for recession
She explained right at the beginning why she's not covering it.
I just opened a Roth IRA and threw some TSLY in there, Mistake?
TSLY recently underwent a reverse split. What are your thoughts about that ?
@@user-iw4nm6yy7u oh, I got rid of it once I read that is follows Tesla. Tesla stock is a sinking ship.
@@user-iw4nm6yy7u I dropped TSLY when Tesla was dropping. JEPQ for me has been on a steady climb in the past 6 months, plus the monthly dividend makes me happy.
QYLD yields 12%
How about 50% VTI and 50% SCHD for a passive income / dividend portfolio?
That will work if you have a 2,000,000. portfolio.
my bust. I asked the question and you put it out previously. Forgive me.
Was thinking about buying this SVOL ETF but notice in my E*TRADE and Firstrade account the expense ratio for this ETF is 1.16% . Her video on this ETF and on Yahoo finance has the expense ratio at 0.66%. Can anybody tell me if this fund recently increase the expense? Thanks.
Yes, they've recently changed their strategy & also increased their expense ratio.
Thanks for your response on my concern on the expense ratio of SVOL. I love all the information and knowledge of your videos...Thanks, Troy
according to my info, SVOL expense ratio is 1.16%...not 0.50%
Yes, you're correct, they've recently increased their expense ratio.
@@ViktoriyaMedia The new expense ratio takes this ETF off the list for me unfortunately!!
CONY
SPYI.
no SPYI on list? u claim its better than JEPI
Svol and DGRW easily beat Jepi in the past 24 months..14 and 12% vs 8% total returns. DGRW is the superstar overall not JEPI. Divo is also 8%.
3 year data is also putting DGRW 1st, Jepi 2nd, divo 3rd.
Schd was the lead in 3 yrs data but past 2 years has tanked. DGRW and Divo have proven to be the most stable.
DGRW is not high yield.
do you have an update to this video?
I will very soon!
Thank you!
Every Dividend CZcams Author provides stocks that give Dividends. They all suggest one reinvest the Dividends. Absolutely no Author talks about how much stock one must have in order to be able to purchase 1 share of stock.
It is time to look into bonds with high yields and less risk and principals are safe.
Naw …too boring
my thoughts exactly. why put up with higher risk at same return.
You're a fool if you think bonds are going to become some normal thing again. The first year in all the decades of bonds trading down with equities with the same level of volatility should be extremely alarming and eye opening. New generation don't trust the government like the oldies did.
Maybe TSLY or NVDY will get into someone’s list in 2024! Currently both are way too young. 😂
TSLY underwent a reverse split recently, what are your thoughts about that ?
All sinking. SVOL down 25% since 2021. Nice try.
Wow. Another click baiter using Warren Buffett in thier thumbnail. Has to be legit great advice.....
there is a well worded disclaimer but I agree better to leave him out
BOTZ
jepi pays quarterly. Not good
no
Monthly since it opened in 2020.
WHY DO YOU DO YOUR VIDEOS IN AN ACOUSTIC TUNNEL
If you have great content, you don't have to put Buffet's or Munger's picture on every thumbnail. If you have good info, we will come back. No need for clickbait.
the author posts a clear disclaimer about that
BS!
😮. Click BAIT…. NOT Warren Buffets advice??????? 💩💩💩💩💩
there is a disclaimer posted about that.
Blah, blah, blah, if you are not making at least 6% interest rate on an annual basis, your wasting your time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
High Yield, High Risk, Lower Long Term Return. Let's see how these ETFs will perform after 10 years.
Stop it
Half of them will likely disappear.
