    In the books, those little dinos (the Compy's) are explained to have a toxin in their bite which puts you to sleep. All those little bites they did to the guy in the jungle made him groggy and he failed to be able to run away anymore. That's when they strike and eat the person alive. In the books, they actually kill Hammond on the island during the first movie. The books are REALLY good and provide a lot of extra information about what was going on the whole time. I highly recommend them.

    The neck-frilled one was Dilophosaurus. It officially never appears again, though there’s a technicality in Jurassic World. But that neck-frill was a unique depiction from Spielberg (there’s no scientific basis for it) yet it appears in nearly every pop culture depiction of it, especially in toys, whether it’s JP stuff or not.

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus Před 3 lety +4

      @@cyanide7270 Actually you don't "know shit" apparently. While it is a popular theory you are referencing a single piece of concept art that shows a raptor in a corrider that is slightly flooded and a person stands in the back with a flashlight.
      It's part of the book The Making of The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
      So much for the theory. The problem is, that there are several pipes leaking water all over the artwork and nobody understands why a cargoship should have so many water pipes all over the place. Yeah there is probably fresh water and gray water to be pumped around but these pipes are all over the place. So another probable explanantion is that these pipes are part of the geothermal power plant (simply said water is injected into an underground heat reservoir; this turns the water into steam which can be extracted to run turbines and generate power). Maybe this is part of the original ending which was supposed to feature more raptor scenes. As you might know Spielberg brought up the San Diego ending since there is a similar scene with a Brontosaurus in London in Arthur Conan Doyles The Lost World.

      No, the T-rex stopped breathing and they gave it something to get it breathing again, only for the T-Rex to wake up and go berserk, killing the crew, before some unfortunate led the T-Rex into the cargo hold and another one locked it behind them. (The arm we see holding the switch.)
      There was never any evidence that raptors were ever on the boat. Maybe in the pre-production stages or the original script, but not in the final movie.
      Nice try.

    11:39 Common mistake. Pteranodon isn't a dinosaur but a pterosaur, which is a different group of archosaurs (pterosaurs, dinosaurs, crocodiles...) that lived at the same time as non-avian dinosaurs. The real flying dinosaurs are called birds, as Dr Grant said in the first movie.

    The Compy's mommy? Umm... sorry but those dinosaurs, the Compsognathus , were fully grown. They were the size of chickens. In the novel Jurassic Park, they breed compy's on Isla Nublar (as well as Sorna) as they noticed being mainly scavengers, they could eat the feces of the larger dinosaurs, and brake it down more for easier removal and disposal. Then they figured out their bite was also slightly poisonous, making them a lot more deadly in a group than they'd think small chicken sized dinos could be... Oh, Hammond doesn't have a PhD as far as I know. He's just a rich guy with delusions of grandeur... Love your reactions, so I finally subscribed! ;o)

    I've heard the drop in quality from the JP1 to LW is largely because Steven Spielberg was semi-reluctant to direct the sequel cuz of how busy he was, and was kinda coerced by studio execs to do it. He had just started his own movie studio, had two films in simultaneous production, and another in preproduction (Saving Private Ryan), so it's not a stretch to imagine his heart and focus was elsewhere.

    Three things:
    One, the man that was killed by the Buck in San Diego--the guy in glasses that he grabbed as he was running into the buliding--is not only credited as Lucky Bastard, but is also the screenwriter, David Koepp.
    Two, in the same scene, if you turn on the subtitles for the same scene as the Japanese businessmen are running away, it translates to "I came from Japan to get away from this"--or something like that--which is a reference to Godzilla and there's a lot of other Easter eggs in the entire sequence as well. For example, the S.S. Venture is a nod to 1933's King Kong, which was one of Steven Spielberg's childhood favorites.
    Third, the T-Rex didn't stay in the cargo hold because it got loose. It was originally in a cage--you can see it on the boat--broke out, killed the crew, and either walked back into the cargo hold on its own or someone led it down there. Don't believe any of the "It was the Raptors" theories because it's not true at all. If you want more answers, look up Klayton Fioriti on CZcams--which, same with Jeremy James Prutchick, is a perfect channel to check out if you're a fan of the franchise--as he goes into more details about it, AND even shows the original storyboards that further prove it was the T-Rex.

    Also, the Buck T-Rex getting loose DOES make sense because the whole point of the franchise is A), the dinosaurs getting on the mainland and B), basically teaching us to not fuck with nature because we'll always lose. Yes, it's stupid to try again in making another park after what happened before, but at the same time, NOBODY learns their lesson apart from a few logical characters.

    In one part of that dangling-off-the-cliff scene you skipped over, the one guy ends up spinning the tires of the car on the mud to try to keep the trailer from falling all the way down. There is really questionable physics here: Its traction is basically the friction of the tires against the ground. As any physics student learns, if the two surfaces start slipping, as here, the frictional force *decreases.* In other words, spinning the tires is something you *don't* want to do in that situation, as you just get worse traction. Not that it matters greatly. Because the mud is quite wet, it has less internal friction than when dry, and *much* less than pavement; it may be more of a lubricant than a good surface for driving on, much less pulling things. In short, there's just no way that car should have been able to hold back the trailer on its own.

    This movie should have ended on the island with an extended raptor set piece. I think bringing the rex and the rest of the dinosaurs to the mainland could have set things up nicely for a third film where they escape and wreak havoc in the city. In that sense, you would have had a trilogy of three different settings: the park, the jungle, and the city.

It’s almost impossible to find a current day movie that even comes close. It’s like screen play writers forgot how to be creative and smart or like they’ve just stopped trying to make good movies.

Something that in Jurassic Park despite the main cast is safe, but theres always tension and they could be not safe. Malcom is a good character if his not all the time. There was an arcade game based on the film of the same name where it follows a different plot where you play as rescue team to find Ian and Sarah the arcade is a light gun where you shoot enemies and you five ammo if you ran out you reload if you get damage you loose a life if ran out lives you to use coins to continue or nowadays we use cards in fun places but if you didn’t continue than it’s game over but anyways there are some team members you have to save one of them if you save them they’ll give you different weapon power up and one who tells you the mission of saving Ian and Sarah save him and he’ll give you a live also there varieties of different enemies you velociraptors while you have dilophosaurs and compies as minor ones and bosses in this game are Doe the female t rex as the first boss Dienosuchus and also one boss which is a dinosaur that wasn’t in the movie but was mentioned in the book of the same name which is a chameleon carnotaur in the stage where you arrived at plant control center where you meet up with Ian and Sarah carrying the baby t rex the arcade game features areas that were not in film or other media the final boss where go up against Buck and Doe the male and female rexes in the final stage where you arrived at the RV also I forgot to mention that there’s targets on obstacles you have to shoot at before the time goes out example the targets started as white and turn green yellow and red to show you the limited time you have to shoot quickly if you fail than you get damaged also in the development the before the deinosuchus they originally want to do a different mosasaur to be the boss for the lakeside stage and even there’s a booth for a special edition version of the game it had a lot of changes they removed the carnotaurus boss stage and follows the same plot as the movie and the final boss stage was gonna take place in San Diego where you fight Buck but the special sadly became lost media even it wasn’t scrapped it’s just no one hasn’t recorded any videos but hopefully someday we’ll see what the special edition looks like if there were published videos on CZcams or somewhere on the internet but we’ll just have to wait and see also I forgot to mention this game is developed by SEGA and there were models of the arcade were it starts off with first one is a normal arcade machine where you stand and the second model is sit down booth with better sound quality hope you like this fact of what I talk about and I enjoyed following you’re channel and I can’t to see new future reactions

    This is where the movies start to lose me. It's nice to see Jeff Goldblum again, and there's some standout scenes here--the raptor attack in the tall grass is classic Spielberg--but most of this movie just isn't interesting in the same way the original was. The city part should have been cool, but I agree with you--I remember it just feeling dumb and unnecessary. I worry that this movie was more made out of obligation to crank out a sequel than any real passion for the project. To borrow a line from Dr. Malcolm himself, the filmmakers "were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
    Eddies' death kind of sticks out for me as the filmmakers not understanding what made the original successful. It feels like it wanted to be like the moment the lawyer got eaten in the original, but that worked because he acted cowardly and was, you know, a lawyer. Eddie was trying to save people and his death just comes off as mean-spirited. It's like they saw the original and thought, "Oh you liked it when the T-rex ate someone?" Well here's 2 t-rexes eating a person!" and not understanding at all why the original made people cheer.

  • @anowhereguy2521
    @anowhereguy2521 Před 3 lety +1

    The whole plan to make another Jurassic Park in a city is completely dumb but it's all the fault of John Hammond nephew, that guy who get killed by the baby T-Rex at the end. InGen was about to go bankrupt after the failure of the first park and they needed to make a lot of money as fast as possible, and moving the dinosaurs to create a new park right in the middle of a big city seemed like a good way to do that. He did not realise the danger or simply didn't care about it, the only thing he cared about was the money. And in the end he died because of his carelessness.

  • @ericbogerd5306
    @ericbogerd5306 Před 3 lety

    Remember, it was only established that humans and dinos shouldn't be together for those on the first island. For the dude running InGen, his top priority was monetizing the dinos and he ignored the experts who said not to do it. The last 20 minutes was all about the arrogance of corporate greed, and in some ways necessary to show the rest of the world what those on the original island understood. People never take seriously things that didn't affect them if it gets in the way of their goals. See Also: Wayland-Yutani (the Corporation) in Aliens, starting a colony on LV-426 thinking they could use it to exploit the Xenomorphs. Just explaining why I don't agree at all the the end was stupid, but actually the most important part of the movie.

    Unfortunately the T rex parents will only see that their baby was taken and assume the humans they find it with took their baby even though they actually rescued and saved him or her. I always feel for the dinosaurs kore than the humans, they never asked to be made and are animals who are true to their nature. Us humans betrayed our nature. My favourite dinosaurs is the Raptors, they're so smart and deadly, you can always tell theyre thinking or making plans together. Hope you watch the jurassic world movies next.

    I really liked the first part and thought the second part was silly. The only thing I didn’t like about the first half was how stupid the characters were considering that they are all supposed to be wildlife experts. She goes traipsing through a jungle drenched in baby T. rex blood after it’s been established that they have an extraordinary sense of smell and no one tells her to take the jacket off and wash up? And they left their food all over the tent. Camping 101, don’t leave food out.

    Those tiny ones are supposed to be scavengers, like vultures. They would only be interested if you were dead or close to it. I have been seeing new theories where the T-Rex was actually covered in feathers, like a chicken, and it too was more scavenger than hunter.
    I did wonder when I originally saw this if the raptors somehow got on the ship or if it was making fun of another film released that year where a ship crashed into the docks (Speed 2: Cruise Control), but no. It seems the T-Rex got released, killed everyone, then went back into the holding pit just after eating the one who’s hand was still attached to the button. Yeah it’s dumb and makes no sense to me either.

    If you want to know how the T.Rex killed the crew of the ship, it’s actually quite simple. The crew, while being under a surprise attack from a T.Rex, cobbled together a plan to trap it in the cargo bay. Unfortunately before the plan finished the entire crew was killed, but that one dude managed to press the button as he was killed thus trapping the dinosaur until the ship crashed. At least that’s my read of it. There’s no official explanation but that’s just what makes the most sense.
    Very enjoyable video though. Here’s hoping you can enjoy Jurassic Park 3, easily the worst movie in the franchise thus far. But being the worst of the Jurassic Park movies still means you get to watch dinosaur eat people so it can still be enjoyable for some people... not me though... I find that movie to be a dumpster fire
    Edit: The reason they brought to the mainland was simply because the villain is the classic stupid rich person with more money than common sense. He didn’t see the original outbreak and just pinned everything on Nedry. He didn’t learn the “Life finds a way” lesson so he thought that he could contain them like he could a lion or any other animal. You said it’s moving backwards and I’d disagree. At the beginning of the movie only like 10 people knew the truth and learned that dinosaurs and man don’t mix. By the end the whole world probably heard about the San Diego disaster. I’d say that’s some serious progress, I’m my opinion anyway
