Can you test the aea sf standard .22 with 40grain slugs? A .30 45 grain in the gub does about 800-820fps or 5-7in penetration. If the .22 40grain can do the same 800-820fps theb youll have a penetration power of 12+inches. I am going to say the .22 40graib will be anywhrre from 25-75fps faster than the 45grain .30cal. in my experience smaller calibers of the same weight in the same gun tend to have higher velocities than the same gun and same weight slug does in a bigger caliber. I beleive it is because the area of the smaller round is duh smaller so the air pressure and thus energy is higher per square inch as its pushing the back of the bullet to get out the barrel which gives it a higher velocity. When you combine that with the basic physics that smaller diameters of the same weight and speed as a bigger diametwr projectile will always have a significantly better ammount of penetration. You would be at a minimum doubling the penetration while also getting a bigger magazine and the ammo is cheaper. idk if you would trust a gun in .30 that only goes 5-6in deep to protect you or your pets from like a coyote or something when hiking but i wouldent, i would want to have something that meets the FBIs standard for firearms to be considered gpod enough for self defense which is 12in of penetration. Untill you get into power levels over 175-200fpe the difference in energy transfer for a smaller caliber compared to a larger one is negligible since the primary way for a gun under those power levels to be effective is if they can pass through the body and thus allow vitals to be punctured. I KNOW a 820-900fps .22 40grain is going to pass right through a coyotes skull within 25-35yards but a .30cal 45grain at the same speeds i wouldent trust. When you have aim for that first shot i want to know theres barely any chance it'll only crack and not penetrare the skull or bounce off because of the angle or whatever then the animal and threat is moving making the second shot not guaranteed to hit especially if yhe animal is moving to attack you or your pet. If the sf or hpss standard length can do that with 40grain then its as good as a rugef 10/22 but in a shorter cheaper to shoot package. Sure its like 60-70fpe compared to .22lr 90-100fpe but because of the way airgun slugs fly compared to smokeless powder cartediges that .22 is only going like 7-9in deep where the airgun is 12+in which seems totally inaccurate since the .22lr 40grain goes 1000-1100fps and the .22 40grain pcp only going 800-900fps but thats just how the math works out. Itll be a little slower to a target at ranges past 30-50yards but most use of 22lr isnt going to be a long range use type of gun anyways. I mean even 22lr at 100+ yards feels slow with a perceivable delay between firing and the ding sound from the slug slapping the target that would be even more so for the pcp .22 due to the velocity but at the end of thw day the thing making it effective is its abilities to puncture vital internals. That small pf a round at that little energy isnt going to be doing damage from the sheer mass and speed of the bullet its doing it by being able to penetrate through vitals.
Best AEA airgun so far if they sell a saparate long barrel for precision target shooting it would be the perfect all in one gun for everything especially with that single shot bolt action option on this one its like made to be with 2 barrels.
hey what air rifle do you recommend for hunting im really in-between the two do i want a long range gun or a compact light 50 yard gun the AEA Challenger Pro Airgun or the AEA sf semi auto standard love your videos
Nice shooting and great video.

Thanks BOA 😎👍🏻
Sweet Shooting Ben. Nice to see some other Brands of pellets being used and tested!
You said 8" barrel, spec says 10" on Compact

Always, loving the content on your channel. By the way, what’s the model on your ATN scope you are using?
Hi, How much does the rifle weigh without the cylinder, please... Thanks
Peace brother. I'm looking to purchase my AEA SF .22 today. Can you share a link for your scope?
Hi, how long is the actual barrel/shroud part, please?
I watched 2 vids and NO POWER level was tested 😢. What’s the energy and fps with 25.4gr pellets or any other slugs/pellets?
hey what air rifle do you recommend for hunting im really in-between the two do i want a long range gun or a compact light 50 yard gun the AEA Challenger Pro Airgun or the AEA sf semi auto standard love your videos
make a comparison video about Umarex hammer vs .22long rifle.
Less recoil on bolt setting?
Looking good brother keep up the great work hey Timmy Timmy I'd beat you and G-Man
Is it a 30 cal???...or 25 cal😎
It's a 25 he says it in the first minute or so in the video while he is introducing the Slugs
