We're building as we go. We started out with the big buttons, but just ordered our first set of FluentPet buttons. We're only a month in, but I'm super elated at how quickly my 3yo GSD has learned to smash his buttons. We're working on the non-smashing of the buttons LOL

thank you for holding this summit. really interested in all this progress in research!
so it just occured to me after rewatching this, that in dog-training I learned from the trainer that humans say TOO MUCH to their animals. repeating commands, making a bunch of anxious mouth-noises like "ah ah!" and trying to re-point to wherever they want the animal to go or do but also pointing to where they currently are or where we didnt want them to go.
the trainer said that animals actually KNOW what we're talking about even probably after just the 1st or 2nd time we SAID something and THEN indicated what we wanted them to do.
at which point, we're supposed to reward our animals with a treat when they finally do the action.
it's just that a lot of times, we think the animal is not listening or won't comply, so we do over-gesturing.
these buttons are showing exactly that. animals truly know the context and what we're doing. they ARE paying attention to human affairs! idk how, but it enriches their lives. but they'd be living very differently in the wild... with entirely different contexts

So many questions about the Connect version: 1. How many buttons connect to the speaker? 2. Do you have to have multiple speakers if your pet reaches a certain amount of words? 3. How easy is it to turn off the texting option ie if you're in a work meeting and cannot be disturbed? 4. Can you respond back to your pet via text ie Dog wants a treat and you text back "soon" and the dog hears it through the speaker?
