I've been sober for 31 years. This song brings back that sense of powerlessness. Addiction almost killed me, but there is a life afterward. Today, I live a happy and good life. Say a prayer for those who still struggle.

Pau has been making people cry for over a decade. All 3 of them are masters on the piano. 3 musical masters that realize Pau’s voice is just meant to be the lead instrument on this song.

As an alcoholic that’s been sober for 20 years, I simply cannot make it thru this song without breaking down. I don’t think the helplessness and self loathing of addiction has ever been expressed so well. Paulina’s lyrics and performance just kill me every time I watch.

So rumour is that pau wrote this song when she was 13, but not from a personal experience. She apparently read an article or something about someone explaining their struggle with addiction.
To write a song like this, and have that kind of emotion in a live performance without actually experiencing it....thats on another level
Wow! She must be a super empath, combine that with intelligence and incredible talent. Magic. Just mindblowing.
In fact, even if everybody know her as an extraordinary drummer, her favorite instrument is the piano.
As we all know there is no limit to Pau and her sisters talents. ⚡⚡⚡
Many people believe young musical artists can't convey emotions, because they don't have life experiences. Obviously they don't trust their ears, but rather force themselves to not become emotional.
This song is proof they can.
I see you felt it too. When Pau sings, the room listens. When Dany sings we rock out. When Ale sings we freak out!!!
All 3 sisters have commanding voices. Ale is yet to show her full potential, but as The Warning fans know, or hope, it is just a matter of time.
A great song, a different song, another side to the talents of these 3 sisters.
The Warning touch on a few serious topics and as you heard with Choke about mental health, When I'm alone is another great song about mental health. Written by Dany at 15 years of age about being homesick.
If you want to check this one out do the Teatro Metropolitan theatre version live as I feel there is great emotion in Dany's vocals, just like Pau's in Black holes.

Written by 12 year old Pau. She recently did this at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City on a grand piano with strings backing her up. Unfortunately there are only fan cam videos of questionable quality.

Leave it to Pau to reach deep down and pull your soul to the surface. I love these young ladies so much. It's hard to express just how much. What's weird is with them it''s not just about the music. It's what they've been through and how much love they have for each other.
All three girls have played keyboards at least once in a concert at one time or another .A very relateable subject , i've seen this happen to quite a few people over the years , which all ended tragically .An awful addiction , whether it be drink or drugs .One of their best compositions for me !

These girls are musical prodigies. It blows my mind the kind of music they wrote and the intensity of their performances when they were so young. Simply amazing.
All three of these young ladies were classically trained pianists from the ages of 5 or 6 prior to them singing and the instruments they now play. In fact Dany, and Ale both played a bit of Saxophone as well.
Thank you for your reaction Saeed, but most of all for your openness and honesty. I personally can relate as I had a good number of years of drug abuse when young and the battles it entails. From getting myself off of them, to disassociating from the many "friends" of that time that would have led me back down the same hole.
Thankfully, that is a lot of years ago now and well behind me. This song breaks me every time I hear it - I can't help but get emotional even though I love it!
I also have children (2 daughters), but mine are in their early 20's now (I'm almost 60), they have their own houses, families, jobs etc. Which makes me particularly proud as I was also a single father for a number of years until they established their own way - well, I suppose I still am really!

I couldn't even spell Black Holes at 12yrs old. At 12 she wrote this . Blows my mind.. I think in this show she was 16,17 something like that.. All 3 girls first instruments was the piano. Classically trained for a few years... 🤘🎶✌️

I think Pau was 12-13 when she originally wrote this (she was almost 16 here I believe). This song crushes me every time.
I have always heard she was 13 when she wrote this and was 15 at this concert. Now I have seen 3 saying she was 12. TWA, help us out. EDIT+: She was 15 but turned 16 two weeks later.

All 3 of them started learning music by playing classical piano at a very young age, so all 3 can play piano/keyboard, plus Dany & Ale learned saxophone in school.
I appreciated every word you said thank you for sharing. Admitting you have a problem is the first step every day sober is a win but never a guarantee. I break every time when Pau sings I surrender in my defeat what an awesome lyric among many. Dany's backing vocals and soft guitar and Ale keeping it all on time sans the drums is really great. Thank you this was special because you understand battle.

What a powerful song! I completely understand your point that you are glad you have gone through addiction but wouldn't wish it on anyone. I feel the same way and am glad you survived. Recovery is hard but so worth it in the long run 💜💜

Thank you for your honest reaction my friend, this one always hits me hard. Fortunately I managed to turn my life around before reaching this stage of addiction but a good friend of mine lost his battle. He kept pushing everyone away that tried to help him so he could drink all day long, every day. Nobody could get through to him and a few years after losing contact I heard he drank himself to death.
Always wondered what those last years must have been for him and then three teenage girls came along describing it word for word... This ability they to channel emotions and feelings that aren't necessarily their own into their music is something truly special, written by a 12/13 year old Paulina no less. After all these years I'm doing fine myself, even manage to enjoy a good beer or whisky again instead of drinking being the purpose.
Another good example of these girls being wise beyond their years is the TedX talk from 2017. They play three songs from their debut album while giving some very insightful commentary about their early careers in between. Still amazes me how well aware and level headed they were at the ages of 16, 14 and 12!

If I recall correctly, Paulina was still 15 years old at the time of this performance January 19th, 2018. Dany was still 17, and Ale` had turned 13 a month earlier. Paulina wrote this song when she was 13.
