Thanks Matt and Corey for the video, as I am on SSDI and had to wait about 3 months to get my lump sum payment which I had to use to pay back other's that I borrowed money from to pay bills. I could really use a Amazon gift card or a cash drop to get some much needed necessities, as the food bank has me on a waiting list. Thanks and God bless...

Right, I fault for 3 years then gave up when my husband died. Then when I found out I had to wait 8 years till I could get survivors benefits so I decided to try again for my disability and they told me I can not apply under mine because it was to many years since I worked. So for 8 years I lived off my family. Thank you God for family that was able to help. Be blessed.
From my research, there are 2 different categories. Retroactive pay covers from onset date to application date and that one is the maximum 12 mths minus 5 mth waiting period. Then backpay covers from application to approval and has no maximum time but also has 5 mth waiting period. I'm awaiting my ssdi as we speak so we'll see. Recently approved after 3 yrs.

Hi Matt, haven't been here for awhile. I needed home care and have been fighting for it since December. Finally I got approved. Not only that I was able to have a family member do my home care and get paid for it. I had to fight hard but won. I thank God for the straight to keep fighting for it. Hey Matt, im a little confused, the lump sum you’re talking about, that only goes to the ones that’s applying for SSDI and not for the ones that’s already drawing their SSDI, am I correct?
I finally got approved in 2021 for ssdi..still waiting for back pay orginal filing Was filed in 2003 from a work injury and had to quit both of my jobs, my primary job and my part-time. That I got hurt on my part-time job and had to go through. Workerscomp for 4 years of denial. And then all these years, i've waited till 2021 of august SSDI and some SSI. I was told I have to file with the judge for a hearing to receive any of my ssdi, and or ssi back pay so now i'm waiting a year and a half for hearing with alj and this is california. What hell they put you through..seriously..17 yrs still trying to get my back from something that wasnt even my fault.
Some people gets turned down several times so I would advise getting a lawyer to do it they won't take a very big chunk of your money albeit they only take about 2 to 7% of it but that was back in 20 02 when I got my big lump payment I got around 12,000 back then so I have no idea what it would be now and the lawyers got about 4,000 which wasn't bad at all always very very grateful so if they turn you down the first time you could try again it's really depending on your situation but in most cases a lot of people do have to get a lawyer but they do get it if everything is legit so prayers for anyone trying to get disability God bless you all to the very maximum
2024 25% or 7200 max. This determined by SSA. a lawyer can petition for more , that would be up the judge handing the case. This amount is from your back pay only Not your base amount
I applied a year ago, June of 2023. Was approved 13 months later. They paid me back pay from June 2022. They told me it's from a year before you applied. So, I was paid from June 2022 to August 2024 ($27,000). So, my back pay covered 2 years. 6 months in 22, 1 yr. in 23, and 6 months in 24. It was deposited into my checking account a month before I got my first monthly disability deposit. Don't freak out about taxes, like I first did. You (I) get to claim it spread out over 2022, 2023, and 2024. See a tax adviser! Results may vary! They paid me back to 2022 because they also determined I was disabled then (I have MS, really had it for 7 years). If you just hurt you back of something like that, they probably won't go back more than just when you applied.
Thanks for sharing your case, I applied January 18 2023, I just got the ALJ letter saying fully favorable and he stated that I have been disable since January 2020 that’s when I stopped working, now just waiting to see how much I will get, I am desperate to find out

I fought 4 yrs for my SSDI started the race in 1999 finally 2 attorneys later in 2004 got approved. No back pay the attorneys both used the 2 yr time to just take money from my children mouth. Very shameful, i didn't know any better. Now I help with anything I can anyone i can to show them there's alot of crooks. The last person that helped me wasn't an attorney just advocate from my States DES office. Got approved and the money that was left for me and my children in a week period. Didn't believe when he told me. God sent. There's a story behind everything. My story started in 1995 when I was injured in car accident. I just thank God every day every moment I was here to see my babies have babies. God bless you all. Praying for you and your families.
How come they don't amp SSDI payments like they do for SSI we never get extra momey on our normale disability payments for SSA I never got back pay when I applied for SSDI tooky 11 yrs for my SSDI and disability checks to start back on 2011 😭
( I just heard that us SSI beneficiaries are going to get cut 20% !!! 👿 I only get 400. Am I going to owe the government? OH NO , my pockets are empty already!)

I got a simple question 2019 I apply for disability through a lawyer my case was won in 2024 one of my lawyers that I use how's my case for 5 years sold it to another lawyer and the lawyers did the case within two years still waiting for my back money the process me five checks so far No none of my back money have been sent to me how do I resolve this do I get another lawyer go back to my old lawyers that just won the case for me
Took them almost 3 years to approve my case, and I have a terminal condition on the compassionate allowance list. I was met with the same willful ignorance I was in healthcare, opened up all my medical PTSD again dealing with these sleepwalkers.
I went through Premier Disability amd they said I didn't appeal in time, but I did the appeal over the 0hone. I was surprised to receive $15,000. I do t k ow who to calĺ or who to comtact!
The payment is based on how much he made before he became disabled and how much he paid in. An SSDI recipient can get as much as $4000 pr month if they paid in the maximum SS payroll tax every year when they were working.
I’m not on disability as of yet but I went to ssa office and submitted my medical papers I was told to wait until I have my next medical review which is in two months from now and they’ll determine if I’m eligible for ssdi my medical condition is life threatening, ok my husband for instance is hearing impaired will he be able to get his lump sum ?

Hello. I was told that I qualified for both SSI back pay and SSDI back pay. I won't get continuing SSI. My monthly check will be SSDI only. The lady told me I'm getting separate back pay from BOTH. Ever heard of that? Thank you.
I am a ssdi recipient it took me forever to deal with ssdi but once I was granted it I was getting different checks every 3 to 4 months then when they got it down to one 20,000.00 I revived the test in a check but they won't send it in a lump sum if it's over 20,000 I wish I would of known we would be living the way we are now I wouldn't have bought my home it just seems like a lose lose situation😢
I did get a lump sum check after I was approved for ssdi. It was for the time over almost 3 years I had to wait for approval that included the 5 month waiting period.
My daughter is now waiting for her Court day. She has Bern waiting for over 2 years. Her hearing should be soon, we're praying. Has had no income for all that time. I help as much as I can. I'm on retirement, but will continue to do what needs to be done.
But they will approve it only if Biden says it's going to Ukraine and only then will they send out thousand of dollars even millions as long as it's going to Ukraine. God bless America 🇺🇸🇮🇱
If you get your SSDI in 5 months what you do is file SSI with it you won't get back pay for SSDI because you got it in 5 months but if you filed SSI you would get SSI back pay for the months you didn't receive a check in that 5 months

I was awarded over 3 1/2 years of back pay. Everyone saying he’s wrong but he’s just not explaining it completely to what the rules are
Matt have a question for you. Being retired in Philippines and being on a fixed income from SS. When the US Dollar collapses how will that affect Retires on SS and living Abroad? How will it affect the exchange when SS Is sent into a Foreign Bank here in Philippines? Please Reply
I was lucky, after 12yrs of fighting with drs for a diagnosis, I didn't have to get a lawyer so I did not have to share the lump payment with anyone, confused the hell out of SSDI, because everyone always gets a lawyer & I could not afford it, I was on the street, disabled & homeless, they should have paid me for that as well but no.
I am owed 48K back pay for a 4 year wait for my approval. I've been approved since Oct 2023. No back pay yet and i can't get an honest word from anyone at ss about this. I owe over half the money to the ones helping through this miserable ordeal. GL everyone
I've been on SSDI since September of 2004, the *ONLY* Lump Sum I got was in the very beginning, after being turned down for 2 years, and going to a meeting with an adjutant judge to get final ruling......I got a two year back pay check in 2 payments over 1 year......*THAT'S ALL*
A friend of mine was approved for SSDI it took 2 years. They told her she would not get back pay and she could appeal it. If she chose to appeal she could lose her ssdi
@@lisawilliamson4248 She must not have worked the full 40 quarters like you need to do with SS retirement, she's married and her household income is already very high? From what I've noticed over the yrs, they give the ppl with the lowest or no income at all the most backpay.
I got my SSDI verification letter and my benefits will begin August 2024 and it said they are going back December 2023 to July 2024. My onset date in the letter was September 2021. They went back even further for Medicare, it starts November 2024 (I already waited the 2 years prior to applying) And they already figured in the 5 month waiting period prior to me applying. I applied in January 2024. I'm just wondering if the backpay comes with the first check or you get the backpay first??
I did my app an i appeal funny my lawyer which the said i didn't need fot paid im full i need the money they want all the bills. How bout the family members an friends u borrowed from.
thanks for doing the research so we, the audience, don't have to, the report, and unwavering advocacy. as well as shooting a thanks out to Corey for her part, I could use some financial help with bills, fuel, etc., it's tough, especially now, but I find a way, ya could say that I'm too proud to ask for help, I don't even get food ebt, surprise me
No because i owe it not like.i hit the lottery that money is owed its mine i need it but cant show why cuz i owe people that helped me during this bad time
Well apparently the first interviewer has to make the corrections and decide to let you appeal to begin with for that to work, and I'm guessing I had a third party vendor for that, by the way it's been going. Says several things completely opposite of what their paperwork says as part of the usual stuff, and then will not correct statements opposite to statements I would ever have agreed to, if he had ever asked. So a whole half of the interview wasn't even conducted before he ended it, and half-assed wrote up guesses on his part opposite of and also misdated for things that would still be crucial left to stand that way in any appeal. He said it would always be up to him to allow an appeal and he would just deny any appeal before it could start as long as I still had anything, considered as a liquid asset. I don't really have anything except I am still disabled in more than a couple of ways. Everyday. Almost everything this person holding my application hostage says, seems to be opposite of what all the agency existent rest of the standard communication states and urges for me to do. He doesn't want to correct his work, and demands I reapply in a few years. Their paperwork states to always appeal. It also states you get a different person to appeal with, but that all records still exist, and you have to call immediately when you disagree with any of your statements as typed up by the interviewer. I was hoping recordings of every conversation were available to be transcribed but he said they never tape anything even though they always say they do, and that there are no recordings to obtain. He said the only thing I can do is reapply, because he will automatically prevent any appeal.
You think it's a problem now wait till they shut the government down I'm a disabled veteran but I think we're going to get paid but active-duty troops don't pretty sad, our soldiers that fight for freedom can get paid but Congress made a law that they shut down the government they get paid what type of crap is that they shut the government down we are going to look like ass clowns of the world

Why so much?
Uff hopefully you used it wisely
Do u still get, regular payments after?
Thank you that answered my question about the time
How come they don't amp SSDI payments like they do for SSI we never get extra momey on our normale disability payments for SSA I never got back pay when I applied for SSDI tooky 11 yrs for my SSDI and disability checks to start back on 2011 😭
We have waited well over
( I just heard that us SSI beneficiaries are going to get cut 20% !!! 👿 I only get 400. Am I going to owe the government? OH NO , my pockets are empty already!)
❤Continuous prayers for you and your family and the helpers and the community and absolutely everybody God bless you all to the very maximum
I really like to know mymedicare with money on it and Medicaid don't that would help a lot of people out what's the difference
I waited 2 yrs to get approved
Hi matt hope you having a great day. Thank you for all work you put into these videos every day. At least you stand with us. God bless and catch you in next video
I got a simple question 2019 I apply for disability through a lawyer my case was won in 2024 one of my lawyers that I use how's my case for 5 years sold it to another lawyer and the lawyers did the case within two years still waiting for my back money the process me five checks so far No none of my back money have been sent to me how do I resolve this do I get another lawyer go back to my old lawyers that just won the case for me
Oh my God! That would be me sir! God knows I need it! I'm on ssa beneficiary from my late husband 7 years ago.
It's only for disabled people.
I got ssdi back pay took 2 years
2 years to pay it or two years for approval?
I got 6 years of back pay for my ssdi they went back far as 2016 to 2023
Took them almost 3 years to approve my case, and I have a terminal condition on the compassionate allowance list.
Backpay for SSDI is a bunch of crap faults information!? thank is very important and will be answered in order!!
A friend of mine got over 38 thousand dollar back payment. That had to be more than 12 months….
A Very Informative Great For Teaching, Matt, Thankyou, Oh, Sooh, Mucho(Much). I Get, The Equivalent, Of, What, Your Sating, Sooh, Yeah, It, Depends, When, And What Date, And Timeframe Someone, Filled, The Form Out, That's, All, Sooh, It's, Either A Back Pay Of 12 Months, Or 7 Months. You And Corey, Baby, Have A Nice Day. Love CoCo😊
Hello. I was told that I qualified for both SSI back pay and SSDI back pay. I won't get continuing SSI. My monthly check will be SSDI only. The lady told me I'm getting separate back pay from BOTH. Ever heard of that? Thank you.
Yes … you can get your one time back pay from both but will continue with SSDI monthly moving forward not sure why they do it but they do
I am a ssdi recipient it took me forever to deal with ssdi but once I was granted it I was getting different checks every 3 to 4 months then when they got it down to one 20,000.00 I revived the test in a check but they won't send it in a lump sum if it's over 20,000 I wish I would of known we would be living the way we are now I wouldn't have bought my home it just seems like a lose lose situation😢
They pay more than 12 months. I got 2 years back pay
@Healthy Wixler no kidding!!
Thanks so much for your help. 😊
I did get a lump sum check after I was approved for ssdi. It was for the time over almost 3 years I had to wait for approval that included the 5 month waiting period.
So it had to have been close to 50 thousand, right?
Wow at least you received a lump sum I never received mine.
My daughter is now waiting for her Court day. She has Bern waiting for over 2 years. Her hearing should be soon, we're praying. Has had no income for all that time. I help as much as I can. I'm on retirement, but will continue to do what needs to be done.
Yeah right they're going to give us thousand thousand. Congress Congress won't let it happened
But they will approve it only if Biden says it's going to Ukraine and only then will they send out thousand of dollars even millions as long as it's going to Ukraine. God bless America 🇺🇸🇮🇱
WATCH THE VIDEO and stop making a fool of yourself based on the title of the video.
Say whatever I want
Thank you for this explanation. The way you explained things make easy for me to understand.
If you get your SSDI in 5 months what you do is file SSI with it you won't get back pay for SSDI because you got it in 5 months but if you filed SSI you would get SSI back pay for the months you didn't receive a check in that 5 months
Oh you're talking about the ones who is just now being processed and will be getting checks
Thanks For The Update Matt & Cory 🤠
Thank
My third video and I will repost and share anything will help me you and your family keep safe God bless you and yours to the very very maximum❤❤❤

Sure help ssdi but nothing for disabled on ssi
Thanks so much for the updates information. Shared
It took almost 3 years and they approved and offered me no back pay.
How do I apply for eodi
He’s not wrong. He’s saying they can go back up to one year from your application date. My case lasted over 2 1/2 years and my onset date was 3 1/2 years ago so I was found fully favorable. I was awarded over 3 1/2 years of back pay. Everyone saying he’s wrong but he’s just not explaining it completely to what the rules are
I got disability back in 2002 3 or 4. I don't remember. It took 4 months to get it. So I don't think I will get anything
Matt have a question for you. Being retired in Philippines and being on a fixed income from SS. When the US Dollar collapses how will that affect Retires on SS and living Abroad? How will it affect the exchange when SS Is sent into a Foreign Bank here in Philippines? Please Reply
SSDI WORKS IN THE PHILLIPINES???
THANK YOU!!! I WAS WAITING ON THIS VIDEO!!!
Sms
They must have changed it because I got back pay for almost 2 years back in 2002
I hope I'm eligible for it too!! I'm not on SSDI I'm on SSI&then I get a Dis check so I wonder if I'm eligible probably not
If you have a lawyer they get $7200 of your back pay
I was lucky, after 12yrs of fighting with drs for a diagnosis, I didn't have to get a lawyer so I did not have to share the lump payment with anyone, confused the hell out of SSDI, because everyone always gets a lawyer & I could not afford it, I was on the street, disabled & homeless, they should have paid me for that as well but no.
Mine was well over 2 years back in 2001 so how about back than?
What about not having enough work credits does that apply
I don't think ppl qualify for SSDI if they haven't paid into SS for 40 credits.
Thanks for keeping us updated…………..
I am owed 48K back pay for a 4 year wait for my approval. I've been approved since Oct 2023. No back pay yet and i can't get an honest word from anyone at ss about this. I owe over half the money to the ones helping through this miserable ordeal. GL everyone
Thanks Matt
Good afternoon
I hope so everyone needs the money 😊😁
After i finally got approved..my check came about a week after i was finally approved...
For your back pay?
I've been on SSDI since September of 2004, the *ONLY* Lump Sum I got was in the very beginning, after being turned down for 2 years, and going to a meeting with an adjutant judge to get final ruling......I got a two year back pay check in 2 payments over 1 year......*THAT'S ALL*
That IS the lump sum check that he's talking about in the video. He should just call it BACKPAY like everyone else does.
Me too, They are so crooked I can't stand it!
I only got $2300 in back pay
Good evening, in Texas the waiting period is 3 months. Your back payment will be dispersed into payments. Over an Year.
how much in payments what percentage
One more time thanks for bringing information in the truth you are the best
Is this check sent to the lawyer or mailed to the client?
So for the two and a half years you wait you get nothing
thanks for doing the research so we, the audience, don't have to, the report, and unwavering advocacy. as well as shooting a thanks out to Corey for her part, I could use some financial help with bills, fuel, etc., it's tough, especially now, but I find a way, ya could say that I'm too proud to ask for help, I don't even get food ebt, surprise me
This video doesn't contain the baby but I will repost it share on sure it will help a lot of people thank you so very much you're the best
I passed 1st time through and I never got one
No because i owe it not like.i hit the lottery that money is owed its mine i need it but cant show why cuz i owe people that helped me during this bad time
Well apparently the first interviewer has to make the corrections and decide to let you appeal to
begin with for that to work, and I'm guessing I had a third party vendor for that, by the way it's been going.
It also states you get a different person to appeal with, but that all records still exist, and you have to call immediately when you disagree with any of your statements as typed up
by the interviewer. I was hoping recordings of every conversation were available to be transcribed but he said they never tape anything even though they always say they do, and that there are no recordings to obtain. He said the only thing I can do is reapply, because he will automatically prevent any appeal.
YEA MY BROTHER HIS WIFE GETS 1800 A MONTH THAT'S NOT BACK PAY THAT'S EVERY MONTH MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE GETS FOR RETIRED PEOPLE
Nothing for ssi
I won't until I see it
STILL NOTHING FOR SSI NEEDS REFORMED WHY CAN'T THEY SEE THIS THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT US
You think it's a problem now wait till they shut the government down I'm a disabled veteran but I think we're going to get paid but active-duty troops don't pretty sad, our soldiers that fight for freedom can get paid but Congress made a law that they shut down the government they get paid what type of crap is that they shut the government down we are going to look like ass clowns of the world
Because they don't care
@@paulanoble1244 you got that right
