💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

Quick question, how come you don’t use small metal spatulas for spreading the colors/flavors? Instead of disposable spoons (even though wooden).
Can i ask a question? I have been watching you stretch the candy on the hook,and every time you take a hammer and hit it on the end of the hook after stretching it and sometimes while you are stretching it why is that ?

Hitting the hook with a hammer sends vibrations through the hammer, which releases the candy more easily
Are you using a plastic spoon to mix the color and flavor? If so, how does it not melt? Also, love this!!! You all are so great.

Why do they use copper cookingware?
Pretty much every candy maker uses copper because it heats everything very evenly. Other types of metals tend to heat up with hot and cold spots.

Is this a plastic spoon you are mixing the colour in with? In a 140°C liquid? Cause that wouldn't be healthy. Also the conditions are not hygienic enough: where are the disposable gloves on top of the thermo gloves? Why is their wood and a cable behind the hook? Why is the jewelry hanging in the lollies?
Good grief he's a slow worker... it's cooling, it needs to be mixed far more thoroughly than you are doing. Never employ stoners....
