  • Recorded on February 8th, 2022. This is a monthly flood siren test of the Saluda River (in Columbia, SC) flood warning siren system. This siren is tested at second Tuesday of every month at around 12:00 PM ET. This siren is also 3 minute tested once a year, on the second Tuesday of every January around noon. This siren started 13 minutes after 12:00 pm. I thought they weren't going to test, but they did. This is my first time recording up close of their 2001 flood warning sirens. Saluda River has a system of 3 or 4 2001-SRNBs. They also have FS DSAs that go off for raising of the river I think. This siren is located near 1019 Garden Valley Ln, Columbia, SC 29210. I got a few more siren videos coming up om my channel soon.

    it’s also tested as a tropical storm/extreme heavy rain/severe thunderstorm warning. tested every 2ND Tuesday of every month and also on those weather warnings. but the DSAs are tested for the high water of the saluda river in attack signal.

    Awesome video! That echo makes it sound straight out of an EAS scenario.

    So basically these sirens would go off for a Flood/Flash Flood Warning, correct?

      Yes. I've seen a dashcam footage of one of their 2001s sounding in alert for a flood warning.

    This is actually a SRN i believe.

      No. SRNs have a rectangular Thunderbolt rotator, while SRNBs have cube-shaped rotators

    I have a map of this grid, along with the DSA’s that line the river. I’d love to contribute to the “SC Sirens map” if possible, or just to share!
    Also dilemma is Dominion claims they have 10 SRNBs total for this system, and i’ve only found 8. Still searching for the remaining 2, which i may just set up in the suspected area for this years 3 min test

      @YourAverageMODude145 Před 2 lety

      No not really. It sounds different than others due to running on a lower voltage, while others get overclocked
