I honestly don't know about that bend, but it seems REALLY extreme to have literally every single one at a 6. I would love to see you resubmit these same cards to different grading services, maybe 15 to beckett, 15 to cgc, and 10 back to psa to regrade. I think the comparison would be really interesting and hopefully give you a little more peace of mind. Either way, this was absolutely brutal. Really hope you took a night for yourself or something after you were done filming.
Absolutely agree
Best comment
How can they all be bent though? They were sealed inside cardboard, and all the cardboard packets were sealed inside a cardboard box. How do they all have the same exact bend?
pokerev do this persons idea it would be amazing!
great idea!!! this will allow us to see how different grading companies grades their cards
Dang man, someone at PSA was having a bad day! Thank you for bringing us along for the ride though!
I agree, I wouldnât consider them creased, itâs more of a light curve. Like Rev said, seen plenty of cards that are curved worse than that with higher grades
Not
*bot anyways that first comment is a scammer
I agree I seen some of poke rev psa returns and some of his cards looked the same way and the got higher grades then this it seems like someone had a really bad day at the psaki factory like the one comment said and decided just to give the cards really bad grades I have some really nice v,s and vmax,s and some trainers and trainer galleries and I don't know if I want.to take that chance and risk spending that kind of money and losing it all if UT gets a bad grade I just don't know what to do
IS ANYONE NOTICED THE SCAMMEr
Iâve submitted hundreds of pack fresh Topsun cards to PSA and about 90% graded 5-7, 8% graded 8, 1% graded 9, and less than 0.5% graded 10. The issue is usually the edges as you mentioned. Sometimes there are fine scratches on the front since the cards are glossy. Topsun is by far the hardest set to grade, and itâs why I am currently the only person with a complete Gem Mint-Mint PSA graded set.
Itâs like the grader saw the bend and just didnât even bother looking at them closely, just smacked a 6 on the stack.
It would be interesting to resend the cards to different grading companies and see the results
I agree
@@mecha_crow0070 i agree too i wonder if he could get a black label from Becket

I agree- although thatâs a lot of money down the drain đ
It would be interesting to see one or two sent to CGC to see what they would come back as. I can't imagine given the conditions of the sealed box that they're all less than a 7 or 8.
the chance that all of these are a 6 is near impossible. psa are hiring scammers it seems.
I would be interested in a third of the cards being sent back to PSA, a third sent to CGC and a third sent to beckett. Seeing what everything comes back as.
Yes
@@StackedMcNasty i really like this. like a head 2 head 2 head comparison
PSA should include a report with each batch they grade explaining what was the reason for the grades. In this case, every card being a 6 is insane, Iâd understand the first card having a bend on the right side, but all the other cards looked to be 9 and 10âs. Did PSA have standards on how to grade those extremely rare cards?
That was tough to watch. Thanks for making content like this! It's nice not having to watch only good stuff because stuff like this keeps things really real
That was wild! I'm honestly really suspicious that every single one went to a 6. It just feels like the grader saw a few that might have been a 6 and just passed them along. Just wild to me. I would send them to Beckett or CGC
Someone didn't feel like grading them so just gave them all a 6
Does bgs grade these?
This was an absolute travesty. You definitely need to send these into CGC or Beckett. Sorry for the tough return bro. Keep your head up & continue to keep uploading amazing content every day.

@@Johnnyy832 đ Better not to grade cards nowadays then... And when looking to sell, just say price is final and that you don't trust modern day grading anymore, and that they can get it graded themselves after purchase.
@@Johnnyy832 Also, probably one of the best and trustable grading you can get from psa japan i heard, but yeah you'd need to live there...
@@rpgdreamer8690 exactly. Tru;y grading atm is only a level above scamming. Until it is hard targets to measure, and removal of subjectional or possible bell curving vs how many of same cards graded are removed from the business, avoid it altogether is the right bet
ive never heard of these cards but they look amazing. it's weird that you got so many 6's but it looked completely clean. I love the vids keep up the great work.
Bro, I feel you on this one. That's how I feel when I see a print line on a brand new card fresh out the pack.
PSA should definitely put in the box a paper explaining why each card got the grade they got

Some days you are the bird, and other days you are the statue. Regardless, thanks for showing us that epic opening!
The biggest bird
Agreed with some of the other comments here - would love to see some grading notes to accompany the submission. Itâs expensive enough for the service - the rationale for the grade would be a nice added bonus!
These cards were fun to watch be opened and then their grade, love this type of content
Send them all to CGC! I feel like PSA sometimes give grades like that for pop control
What cgc is worst psa 10 are 9.5 at cgc all day they grade worst psa is def the softest company for grading.
@@louv409 yea but cgc grades altered cards all day. Never grade with cgc.
CGC is the KING of grading cards down for POP control. I sent 400 cards to PSA and 250 to CGC. ALL pack-fresh and looked over for condition. Got 250 PSA 10s, over 100 PSA 9s. CGC gave me 6 CGC 9.5s, zero 10s, 100+ 9s and a TON of 8s and 8.5s. They are indescribably bad at what they do. We're talking cards with 9.5+ centering and flawless surfaces, edges, and corners.
@@Faber0k not disagreeing w you at all if I'm gonna spend money w a company it would be w psa. Cgc and beckett are gambles
Hate to see brutal grades on cards that definitely look better than their grades. Thanks for all you do and the risks you take for our entertainment Rev!!
Great content. Thank you PokeRev! Saddened though by the grading. Brutal, I think I felt physical pain watching.
Hello, Rev! I live in Okinawa, Japan and buy these pretty regularly. Unfortunately, and from experience, these cards are notoriously hard to grade. To date, I have never received a 10 and one of the cards would have been a pop 1 that came back a 6. Like you, I could not figure out what was the reason for the lower grade. I understand your frustration. For future referenceâŠthere are three variations of these cards. You got the most common version. The blue backs are less common and then there is another variation- a blue back with a misprint of no number by the name. The one I had was a Magikarp no numberâŠcame back a 6. There is something in the patterns on the back that we donât obviously see. Hope this helps.
Where do you buy these regularly on Okinawa? I live there too and would love to find even one card to collect.
I watched Rev open these and even noticed on the opening. The pack was a cardboard pack along with the pack of gum. The gum presses the cards against the pack and moisture easily affects these packs, as they are not covered in plastic or foil. That is the cause of the "bends".
@@jdmills123456789typically I buy them online. Yahoo Auctions for the most part.
@@Michael_HimselfyesâŠand they are infuriating to grade. The highest grade I have ever received was a 9.
Dang man this is tough! Yeah the old top sun cards and the old vending series cards are really really hard to grade! The littlest thing can drop the grade hugely! But good luck bro hopefully itâs not too bad đđ»
But why?
@@jdmills123456789why are they hard to grade? Theyâre notorious for bending - especially after 30 years in those boxes
PSA is usually pretty tough on anything vintage or first edition, any bend will cause an automatic low grade. I would sleeve them up and put them in a book to hopefully flatten that bend, and then resubmit. Great video as always bro. Thanks for being real with your videos.
Theyâre tough but this is absurd. Who ever graded these needs to be fired
Also Rev you kept a solid face for the opening although you were dying inside Iâm sure, so props to you man for keeping it cool for the vid
I loved watching you open these! I'm sorry they graded this way but they're still so beautiful to have
Dang, between this and that Flash Fire box Revs luck has been rough recently. Hopefully he can turn it around soon đŹ
Really unfortunate with the grades but these cards are still great and itâs all about the experience of opening them and having the rush of pulling a good card! Thanks for the great vid Rev!
Thatâs actually insane they graded that harshly. I agree that looked like bows vs bends. Iâd crack them all out, flatten them in magnet cases for awhile and resubmit
Thanks for all the awesome videos and experiences we get to have together watching! Regardless of these grades...... Cuz all of your videos would be a perfect 10!
Regardless of grades, these cards are so amazing itâs ridiculous. I actually really love these cards and watching the opening was so fun!
Dang brother. That was brutal. Thank you for taking on all the risk to allow us to live vicariously and get to see all of this awesome stuff opened. Sorry this time it went so wrong. But thanks for what you do for the community. Awesome stuff.
I went back to watch the original video again and I can see it on there but I swear itâs a curve. I canât see any creases on both videos. Iâd stick them between a heavy book and resend one or two and see how it does đ
Fuming for you đ©
Love this set! never knew they existed till I started watching your videos.
Gotta love the art on these really old cards canât believe the difference between them and modern cards
Can we just take a minute an appreciate this man's content. Loving your work Rev!
Brutal grading on some awesome cards! Run that back!!! The bend is noticeable but I donât think it warrants your whole box getting straight 6âs?!
Regardless, awesome content as usual. Thank you for the gambles you take
Aw man this was heartbreaking!! :( someone was in a bad mood at PSA...so sorry rev! I think you def send them back for a regrade!
I would definitely be down to see these get regraded especially with maybe another place like becket where they show the ratings of each category maybe to see if they noticed something too. đ€ but anyways still great content even though its been a rough week!
Still wild seeing these cards. Thank you !!
I would talk to PSA like Leonhart did with cards PSA didn't want to grade at first and maybe you can get better grades this way! Keep going, love your content.
thatâs so weird, i never expected that! they looked so good too! iâd like to see them graded at other companies!
man, really hate to see the tough grades... but it would definitely be interesting to see if the grades changed if you sent them back for regrading! thanks for the vid as always!
100%, please do a follow up! I would love to see some flattened under some books, like I have done in the past, and send as a separate sub to see if that makes an difference!
so like, 5 to psa as is, 5 to psa after being flattened and the same to bgs and cgc. Would love to see that! Make it happen Rev!
Tough take but goes so show how it could possibly be when sending cards in! Maybe the grader thought the cards were faded?
Look forward to seeing what you end up doing with them!
Sorry for the unfortunate grades. Itâs awesome to see these types of cards though, especially knowing the chances of opening these packs myself is slim to none
Lack of subgrades has me thinking PSA is mid nowadays, especially after seeing tons of vids like this. I would love to see a couple of the cards sent to BGC, and a couple sent to CGC just to see the grading variance, especially with subgrades. Either way great vids as always Rev đ
Cgc gladly grades altered cards! Never grade with cgc! They work with people that alter cards before they get sent in! Never grade cgc.
@@Faber0k tf? Whatâs an issue with that? And what do you mean âalteredâ
@@SpicedSyntheticBat like removing scratches by using chemicals to fill them in, trimming cards, pressing cards. The big no no is using chemicals to alter the appearance to make them look newer but the chemicals actually just devalue and ruin the cards.
This one was rough to watch. Thank you for doing this so we donât have to! Thank you for the constant entertainment.
It was a big risk to open that box but collecting PokĂ©mon cards to me is just really just for the fun of it and to make good memoryâs thank for the awesome content revâ€
I wanna say thanks for posting the bad along with all the good so people know it can happen to anyone. That was hard to watch and I'm sure harder to go through in person.. I would definitely send in to a different company those grades can't be real.
that growlithe card is so dope, regardless of the grades, it was an awesome opening. I have never seen these cards before!
Sad to see.. but any bend crease or indented will automatically drop the grade down to a 6.. itll go lower from there depending on the condition of the card
I was watching this and even noticed on the opening. The pack was a cardboard pack along with the pack of gum. The gum presses the cards against the pack and moisture easily affects these packs.
PSA was having a rough day! can't believe the grades you got. Thanks for taking us along on the journey
Put the tools to use and send them in again!
This was such a cool collection to watch you open. Iâm sure these older cards are harder to grade
either that, or the new employees at psa are bad hirees. lmao
Those had to have a factory error. Man I feel so bad. Such beautiful cards with low grades. Much love dude!
Mate I'm still proud of you for doing this. I for one loved this set!
You're proud of him for doing this? Weird af
â@@bighousetech He exposed PSA's bias, took a risk and still managed to show his love for the cards...that takes balls...poke balls.
@Dancing_Dragonite no it shows psa knocks cards down to a 6 with any bends creases or dents. Which all of the cards had.
I think you should crack them all, inspect yourself and the ones that aren't worth the most or the least, basically the middle cards, I think you should send in about 5-10 or 20 of them to cgc and see what happens, they are bent/bowed but there is no creasing so they shouldn't be 6's
why all though? wouldnt it be smarter to just do a few see how that turn out first? grading int cheap either so I would just do a few send those in see if you get hgher grades if not dont bother with the others
Cgc grades altered cards noone grades with cgc thats worth a damn.
a bend will give you a 6, a crease will be a 4 usually.
You may want to see if you can take a few and press them out to be straight. But as they are they would absolutely get a 6 across the board for the bend. I'd also like to see if cross grading would turn out different.
Can't believe these grades! Watched u open this box fresh!
I feel like Rev has run out of luck for these 2 days. Though I feel that PSA might have made an error in grading those cards. Try sending them to other card grading companies like Beckett or CGC. Anyways better luck next time. And thanks for making such great videos.
Love these old card designs but hard luck on the grading dude. Thanks for what you do for the community
I was thinking about what company I should use for grading cards and this helps me a bit. These gradings don't make sense
Might need to put the Alien Luck tee back on for the next few videos. Between this, the $3k booster box and the Sun & Moon ETBs, the pulls have been tough to come by! đž
I feel like you definitely gotta send these back in. Thatâs so much value lost on potentially unfair grades
Amazing! Pulled my first moonbreon today!!
Nice 550$ come-up.
Wow they come up to 500-550
Wow!
đđđ thats my fav pokemon cardof all time i try to pull it since the set was releasedđąđąđąđą
I have never seen these cardâs before your unboxing great vid.
Maybe try cracking them all and leaving them sleeved in a binder to let the bend set out? Also would be curious to see you resubmit to CGC or BGS with sub-grades, might bring a bit more clarityâŠ
itâs crazy how he has to keep explaining himself that he is ligit and doesnât get the hook up like how can yâall not believe this man it is honestly so upsetting to see him go through this and lose thousands of dollars and still have to defend himself from people saying heâs fake thank you man for all you do love watching your videos every day what i look forward to
My guess is the grader wasn't familiar with top sun. PSA list the card being "faded" as a 6. The only thing I can see as faded is the blue-ish hue on the Pokemon name at the top but needs to be held against something graded well to really prove that
They have a clear bend. That's an automatic 6 at best.
Wow what a reveal , thanks for sharing Rev!
Thank you Rev for the video drop! Honestly this was way too harsh. For science I would try to submit the cards to a different grading house to se if the consistency in grades is going to withstand. So sorry for you. I bet that your disappointment was over the moon.
I don't really know much about how PSA does their grading, but this kind of stuff makes me think that they should definitely have at least a couple different graders checking the same cards to give them all a fair score lol
hi... ^^
That Was harsh . I feel ya pain geeza.. I do recon you could flatten em . Put them inside each page of a book hardback. And put weight on top for a couple of weeks .
It is very odd that every card is graded the same with no variation. I personally would want to send them in again just for confirmation đ loving the vids as always.
Put them in a penny sleeve and in the middle of a book. Bowing can straighten out but if it's a bend you will see the creases with a microscope. If they all have the bend it can be a factory error on packaging and hence a 6 because it affects everything but the centering grade but appearance is still great. Try different methods on different cards to see if it can help the grade and increase value. As always start from the cheapest and work up.
Youâre the man rev! Thanks for all you do! đ
iâm going to a card shop today and iâm hyped! sorry about the grades though, that sucks
Sorry Rev. I agree it would be cool to see how other companies would grade these. These are cool cards. Would like to have at least one for my collection. Thanks Rev!
Genuinely do not agree with those 6s at all. I know this is just from the video, but I feel like we can usually see actual creases. I didnât see any creases this was unjustified đ
Excited to see how these come back it was cool seeing them opened!
Definitely was a crazy ride thanks for bringing us along but someone was having a crap day at PSA
That was definitely rough, but I think you should resubmit them to different grading services because that bow doesn't seem like enough to make every one a 6.
the craziest psa return ive ever seen. someone there was in a rush to go home for the day hahaha
also love the daily content keep it coming and THANK YOU
Def regrade! Send some to the different grading companies. Would be a SUPER interesting video
I used to have that onix and I cannot find it anywhere...
Crazy psa returns tho...still super cool to watch
You and Cool Trainer Ryan definitely got the short end of the stick on these last psa submissions. If I were you I'd resubmit cause these cards deserve more than a 6 for sure
That's crazy I can't believe it's ended up like that.
This is just wild. Definitely send these back in again.
Tough to say just on camera. But for me a crease is when there are kind of âWavesâ on the card structure. Maybe check again with a lens.
This video would crazy! Iâve never owned one of these and that would be amazing. Great content!!
Amazing cards regardless. Explanations of why they picked those numbers would be nice of them. I feel like there is such a lack of consistency depending on person and day.
Definitely atleast send a couple around to see! thats definitely a weird spot between warp, and a bend!
Man I now have another major fear of turning in my first batch đ should I just do bgs, great video tho and we appreciate everything you do pokerev â€ïžâđœ
Love the PSA return videos you make!!!
Thereâs a possibility the warp of the cards is because of them sitting for so long in the packs, with the packs being pressed together, and the gum in each of the packs just caused the cards to bend over time. Iâm just speculating, but it makes sense to me.
These cards are amazing. Unfortunate for the grades but still nice cards!
I honestly have a hard time believing that every single card had the exact same bend. I do agree with PSA that it is a bend, I can see a feint line on the back where the cards are bent. But it makes no sense that every card would have the exact same issue, thereâs no situation in the factory where that could happen. Sure, maybe the edge of a sheet is bent or something, but how do you get periodic bends across an entire sheet when printing these. The best thing I can guess is that each time the machine cut a line of cards from the sheet it bent the line of cards to the left of the cut, which would account for every card being bent, but I canât really see that happening.
I always had the idea that when you grade cards, in the return the company have to include a letter detailing the grades that every card has. So in that way you know what's wrong
Also in coin collecting we have a saying, â buy the coin, not the holder.â
Someone at PSA was having a really bad day haha. Great vid though :)
even though the grading wasnât what we expected still thank you for the video!
